Annie Chapman wurde am 8. September 1888 im Hinterhof des Hauses Hanbury Street 29 in Spitalfields ermordet aufgefunden. Sie gilt als das zweite Opfer des unbekannten Whitechapel-Mörders, der unter dem Namen "Jack the Ripper" in die Geschichte einging. Wir erinnern uns heute an ihr Leben, nicht an ihren grausamen Tod. Dafür besuchen wir u.a. die Straße in Knightsbridge, in der sie mit ihrer Mutter und ihren Schwestern lebte sowie die Gegend in Windsor, wo ihr Mann als Kutscher bei einem Gentleman angestellt war, und wo sie mit ihm und ihren Kindern lebte. Außerdem widmen wir uns der tragischen Geschichten ihrer zu früh verstorbenen Kinder und gehen auf den Moment ein, an dem sie das letzte Mal lebend gesehen wurde. Singer, actor and playwright Karen Egan about her career and writing and performing the song "Eight Little Whores" on BBC's "Ripper Street". KAREN EGAN – Singer, Actor, Composer, Writer, Diva Singer, actor, comedian and playwright Karen Egan originally qualified as a barrister (King’s Inns, Dublin) but soon changed course. Karen is an actress, writer and was part of the Irish comedy singing trio "The Nualas", who toured Ireland, the UK, Singapore and Australia. Their sell-out shows received five-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for many years and they also had their own radio series on BBC Radio Four.
