Even after we’ve moved on, those pieces remain behind, like echoes of another time—echoes that can still be felt today.* * *This episode of Lore was sponsored by:Casper: Discover Casper’s new Hybrid mattress, which combines the pressure relief of their award-winning foam with durable-yet-gentle springs. Some threats to our safety and well-being are obvious and easy to spot from a mile away. Over the course of history, people have become very skilled at looking for danger and avoiding it. But some threats are more difficult to spot—and once they strike, the results can be deadly.* * *This episode of Lore was sponsored by:Casper: Discover Casper’s new Hybrid mattress, which combines the pressure relief of their award-winning foam with durable-yet-gentle springs. No one likes to be sick, and yet it is one of the most dependable things in life. We will all, at some point, become ill, and when we do, the most important thing in our world will be recovery and wellness. Many simply wait for nature to take its course, but history is full of takes of those who have taken it a bit too far.* * *This episode of Lore was sponsored by:Squarespace: If you're passionate about it, show it off. The way we explain the world around us is determined by the lens we view it through, especially when events sit outside the realm of the believable. And no better moment in time can illustrate that idea better than the perfect storm of fear and paranoia that descended on a New England village a handful of centuries ago.* * *This episode of Lore was sponsored by: Casper: Discover Casper’s new Hybrid mattress, which combines the pressure relief of their award-winning foam with durable-yet-gentle springs. Most locations have an isolated history that is unique to them and only them. But some places have served as the entry point for a bigger idea and a larger impact on history as a whole. Sadly, that sort of significance always seems to come at a price, and it’s a cost that’s difficult to forget.* * *This episode of Lore was sponsored by:Fracture: Fracture wants to change the way you think about printing your photos. The Mnt. Washington Hotel is beautiful. The mountain is small compared to the Rockies but it is vicious. There has been almost 150 deaths on the mountain in its history - 3 this year... and many more rescues. It's not to be underestimated.

Caligula's pleasure barges were not ever put out to sea, as your opening insinuates. They existed in Lake Nemi and functioned as an ultra-luxurious, man-made island. I understand though - you have to tie it all together to pull the listener in. Let's keep up the fact checking a bit though, k thx.

This one was hard to favorite, I wish the main subject was a werewolf, but Mr Mahnke is such a great storyteller, so he was able to save the story, even though the subject was a goatman! A were-goat?? Are you kidding me? Anyway, good job👍

Loved the podcast Aaron, great episode as always! I'm slightly confused by one thing though; in the extra at the end you refer to 'Cornish miners from Wales' - unless I'm missing something Cornish miners come from the County of Cornwall in England, & Welsh miners come from anywhere in Wales. Slightly baffled here in the UK 😊
