*Ad Free Version available on Lorehammer Pateron, link below.*Lion El’Jonson, the stoic and enigmatic primarch of the Dark Angels, stands as a figure defined by both tragedy and resurgence. During the Horus Heresy, the Lion was a masterful tactician and relentless warrior, yet his story was marked by mistrust and division, culminating in the betrayal of his closest confidant, Luther, and the shattering of Caliban, his homeworld. While other primarchs fought on Terra, the Lion’s campaign saw him hunting traitors across the galaxy, often operating in isolation, embodying both his strength as a hunter and the secrecy that would come to define the Dark Angels. In the Era Indomitus, millennia later, he awakens as a warrior reborn into a galaxy engulfed in darkness and despair. Unlike his brother Guilliman, who rebuilds the Imperium with a statesman’s hand, the Lion emerges as a lone knight-errant, clad in relic armor, bearing ancient weapons, and stalking the stars to deliver vengeance. From the haunted forests of his past to the battlefields of the present, Lion El’Jonson remains both a savior and a shadow—a warrior out of time, yet perfectly suited for the grim reality of the Imperium's darkest age.Christmas Gifthttps://www.patreon.com/Lorehammer/giftLorehammer Pateronhttps://www.patreon.com/c/lorehammer/membershipOne Time Donationshttps://paypal.me/lorehammerpodcastLink to all Linkshttps://linktr.ee/Lorehammer40kBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/lorehammer-a-warhammer-40k-podcast--6375345/support.

These mighty legions, each led by a primarch, were the Emperor’s most trusted warriors, created to bring the light of the Imperium to every corner of the galaxy. As the Crusade advanced, the legions grew in power, but with the outbreak of the Horus Heresy, the Great Betrayal shattered their unity. The aftermath saw the fragmentation of the legions, and in the wake of the Heresy, they were reorganized into the Space Marine Chapters. This shift marked the beginning of a new era in the Imperium, one defined by the stoic and grim heroism of these smaller, more autonomous units, carrying the legacy of the legions in their blood.Christmas Gifthttps://www.patreon.com/Lorehammer/giftLorehammer Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/c/lorehammer/membershipOne Time Donationshttps://paypal.me/lorehammerpodcastLink to all Linkshttps://linktr.ee/Lorehammer40kBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/lorehammer-a-warhammer-40k-podcast--6375345/support.

I have to disagree that it is necessary to start with a small self-contained, or at least self-explanatory, story to get into WH40k. Myself, I started with a premise - fantasy world in space, except everything is different! - and from there dived into each aspect to see how the WH40K version differed. I think the first aspect I dived into was the Warp because "how does magic work?" is always a question on my mind. That might not work for everyone. It might be specifically for me because I attach more to lore than to characters, but I suspect I am not special.

New to the hobby. Found this to help increase my lore knowledge. Still early in the series and plan on seeing it through. That being said, the amount of diversions and interruptions created by Erik to make points that do not serve the narrative or the discussion, but seem to only serve his ego are driving me crazy. Please tell me it gets better in the later episodes. These episodes would flow so much better and be 30-40 minutes shorter without these pointless tangential arguments.

Used to play 40k in the 90s as a teenager, then lost touch with it until recently and was intested in how the game and the lore had changed over the years. So this podcast is everything I need in learning and re learning the fascinating universe of Warhammer. These guys do a great job of explaining everything in detail while keeping it interesting
