From the brutal, industrial resilience of Mark I Thunder Armour to the refined battlefield elegance of Mark II Crusade plate, each generation charts humanity’s rise from Old Night into the Emperor’s golden ambition. Mark III Iron Armour brought uncompromising frontal protection for void assaults, while the sleek Mark IV Maximus represented the pinnacle of pre-Heresy innovation. The rugged, adaptable Mark V Heresy pattern kept Legions fighting through scarcity and sabotage, and the venerable Mark VI Corvus, beloved for its avian silhouette became the symbol of reconnaissance and precision warfare. By the 41st Millennium, the stalwart Mark VII Aquila dominated as the standard of Imperial might, with modern Chapters still venerating its reliability even as rare suits of Mark VIII Errant surface among veterans. Each mark is more than wargear; it’s a chapter of history, a philosophy of warfare, and a testament to the relentless evolution of the Emperor’s Angels of Death.Lorehammer Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/c/lorehammer/membershipOne Time Donationshttps://paypal.me/lorehammerpodcastLink to all Linkshttps://linktr.ee/Lorehammer40k

Once led by the indomitable Ferrus Manus, the Iron Hands were the Emperor’s purest expression of strength through discipline and machinery. Yet when their Primarch fell to Fulgrim’s blade on Isstvan V, their iron resolve fractured into bitter self-loathing and relentless augmentation. We’ll explore how the sons of Medusa turned their grief into doctrine, purging weakness from flesh and soul alike, until only the machine endured. This is the story of steel’s triumph over sorrow—and of humanity sacrificed on the altar of perfection.Lorehammer Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/c/lorehammer/membershipOne Time Donationshttps://paypal.me/lorehammerpodcastLink to all Linkshttps://linktr.ee/Lorehammer40k

When betrayal ignited across the stars, Ferrus stood unflinching, a figure of iron will and grim purpose, facing down his dearest friend Fulgrim in a clash that shattered not only steel but loyalty itself. We explore the tragedy of his final stand on Istvaan V, the weight of his ideals, and how his death forged the cold, machine-hearted legacy that would define the Iron Hands for ten thousand years. This is not just the tale of a warrior betrayed — it is the story of the Imperium’s loss of its most unyielding son.Lorehammer Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/c/lorehammer/membershipOne Time Donationshttps://paypal.me/lorehammerpodcastLink to all Linkshttps://linktr.ee/Lorehammer40k

I have to disagree that it is necessary to start with a small self-contained, or at least self-explanatory, story to get into WH40k. Myself, I started with a premise - fantasy world in space, except everything is different! - and from there dived into each aspect to see how the WH40K version differed. I think the first aspect I dived into was the Warp because "how does magic work?" is always a question on my mind. That might not work for everyone. It might be specifically for me because I attach more to lore than to characters, but I suspect I am not special.

New to the hobby. Found this to help increase my lore knowledge. Still early in the series and plan on seeing it through. That being said, the amount of diversions and interruptions created by Erik to make points that do not serve the narrative or the discussion, but seem to only serve his ego are driving me crazy. Please tell me it gets better in the later episodes. These episodes would flow so much better and be 30-40 minutes shorter without these pointless tangential arguments.

Used to play 40k in the 90s as a teenager, then lost touch with it until recently and was intested in how the game and the lore had changed over the years. So this podcast is everything I need in learning and re learning the fascinating universe of Warhammer. These guys do a great job of explaining everything in detail while keeping it interesting
