In this week's episode, I'll discuss the crucial topic of protecting your energy in today's fast-paced world. I'll be covering four key subtopics that have personally helped me safeguard my well-being: learning to be alone, cutting things off, learning from mistakes, and learning to say no. I'm eager to share some practical tips and personal experiences on how to cultivate a healthy relationship with yourself, let go of things that are no longer serving you, embrace failures as valuable learning opportunities, and set healthy boundaries without feeling guilty or overwhelmed.
In this episode I discuss the affect of time on me right now and how stressful time can be especially when you need to get things done and how I try to approach certain scenarios under pressure. Hope you enjoy this episode.

This episode may come across very random with a bit of waffle. But like mentioned in the episode expressing how you feel may help relieve the distress you may be feeling especially since moving to uni no one really talks about how they are truly feeling. Join Akwaugo as she talks about feeling alone whilst at uni, being honest with your self and taking time to express pain. P.S Sorry for the ugly crying I really couldn’t control it in this episode especially with freshers flu. Be sure to answer the Q&A.

Unfortunately, since the Covid-19 outbreak there has been a sudden increase in the hate crimes towards the AAPI community. Asian people are being targeted for looking and being Asian. For many years, Asian people have been silenced and been told to keep quiet and ignore the hate against them. It has become too much, that now more Asian people are losing their lives to these very petty hate crimes causing more Asian people to become scared to leave their homes and feel comfortable in this new world. This rise in racism towards Asian people is affecting many people, especially the elderly and is truly heartbreaking to watch the videos and listen to the stories of loved ones. In this episode, we try to cover what is causing this hate towards Asians, ways we can help the Asian community, and the hidden racism towards them. Because of how big this topic is this episode consists of two parts! Stay tuned for part 2! Please be advised that, violence, police brutality, rape, sexual assault and racism was discussed. 2020 played a massive role in many of our lives. Many people can say that the year almost felt like a movie. For us the year taught us a number of things, from the importance of the BLM movement, how the government handled the pandemic to learning new things about others including the ones we ‘thought’ we were closest to. Thousands of loved ones were lost last year. This year should be a time of reflection for those families and people the became victims to this loss. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/lostinthe21stcentury/message
Welcome back to another episode with Lost in the 21st Century! We wanted to discuss on something that we believe that people need a better understanding on. Majority of the time hate towards Muslim people goes unnoticed or even ignored. We try to get a deeper understanding as to why people do not understand the definition of Islamophobia and if this because of how the government described the meaning and what some of our Muslim listeners, that sent in their voice messages, thought should be the right definition. We also asked for personal experiences, to get an understanding on how islamophobia has even affected some of our listeners, friends and families and people online. Lastly, we spoke about the lack of representation of Muslim people in the media and the effect of this and Celebs who also identify as Muslim. *WARNING* Death, Abuse and Rape was discussed. Due to the horrific events in Nigeria, this is a topic that we can not ignore. As some of us are Nigerian (Akwaugo, Muna and Ruona), it is important that we speak up about this topic, as we Nigerians, that live either in the UK and the US and many others didn’t know this was happening. Please listen to this to gain a better understanding on SARS + Nigeria and how you can help spread awareness. We still do not know everything about SARS but with the little we know it is important we share that with you and our frustration. Tune in, as we discuss our thoughts on SARS, police brutality, the power of social media during times like this, why the date 20.10.20 is now important and the victims of SARS. We understand that this episode is heavy and sensitive, so please be warned that death, rape, police brutality, and abuse was discussed in this episode. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/lostinthe21stcentury/message
