Dr. Pallav Kosuri received his Ph.D from Columbia, his PostDoc from Harvard, and completed his thesis at CERN. Now he works at the Salk Institute in La Jolla working in a field called DNA Origami. Cyber attacks have advanced rapidly along with the rest of technology. From flooding the SSA website with bots and crashing the system to the Solar Winds attack on the US Government by Russia, Cyber Attacks are now a huge problem for everyone. Clifton is a PHD student at Northeastern studying network security, recently studying the feasibility of implementing deep learning solutions to prevent attacks. The conversation can roughly divided into a first and second half. First, we discussed Clifton's work and the specifics of different cyber attacks. Second, we discussed the problems and possibilities of exploding technological innovation. Will we be able to build consciousness? Clifton doesn't want to find out. I kinda do.
