After her breakout film Smithereens landed her at the Cannes Film Festival, Susan's follow-up film was directing Madonna & Rosanna Arquette in the 1985 hit film "Desperately Seeking Susan." And since that movie, Susan went on to direct many films and tv shows and now she's published a memoir titled "Desperately Seeking Something" from MacMillan Publishing, which chronicles leaving her life in Huntingdon Valley, PA for the film industry in NYC. It's so funny how alike M fans are or can be. I agreed with almost everything you guys said and I also think, always said that Dangerous Game is her best performance! (Evita being the highlight of course but for a variety of reasons) You just forgot to mention that Madonna maybe didn't wright You Must Love Me and other songs, but she produced did and did the mixing.. And about The Next Best Thing, I was always thinking why the hell this Rom-Com turned to a Lifetime-Drama in the middle of the film..?! I still listen to Time Stood Still, beautiful and timeless lyrics. PS: I really really disliked Guy Ritchie and didn't like Madonna's attitude during that time even though creatively she did some of her best stuff. WE was great btw!
