Mounting Problems

Yes its a terrible title but i had to get his name in there somewhere. This week we will mainly be looking at the signing of Mason Mount. you can listen to my rant about shirt numbers and the treatment of David De Gea and we will have a quick reminder of another six games from last season
When will it end

When will it end

The seemingly never ending list of players we have been linked with gets even longer as we get linked with yet more players we have never heard of or the ones who were worth £40 million two weeks ago but are now worth double that. The Glazers cling to the carcass of what was once the greatest club in the world like the blood sucking leaches we have come to know and loathe, and apparently we are selling a keeper because some people don't like him any more but the same people are happy to embrace our very nice to women, errant forward
The first episode of season 4 of the MUFC from a Distance podcast starts with a chat about the ongoing takeover fiasco. the way we get linked to every player under the sun and being involved in a debate about whose treble was best which confirms City's need to use United's name to feel relevant. We also start the review of Season 22/23 with the pre season tour against Liverpool, Melbourne, Crystal Palace, Villa, Athletico Madrid & Raya Viacano where the highlight appeared to be Freed getting sent off
After an enforced lay off of over nine months the podcast is back so look forward to a summer full of moaning, complaining and fanciful predictions of the season to come. Starting next week with a review of the first few months of last season, an update on the ownership debacle, if there is one, and the latest transfer rumours where it will be easier to list the players we haven't been linked with
Two games into the season and it goes from bad to worse for Man Utd with a group of players  who don't look like they've met before never mind trained with each other. A keeper throwing them in or passing to opposition players and a want away striker who expels more energy throwing his arms in the air than he does running or trying to stay on his feet. A less sweary but equally depressing new podcast awaits :-)
A poor first game of the season, compounded by the optimism we all felt prior to it, resulted in a nice sweary ranty on this weeks podcast

Well pre season is finished, we`ve had two players sent off, Ronaldo's still here when he doesn't want to be and others we want aren't. With this to contend with and our one remaining forward made of balsa wood we look forward to a new season with just a little bit of optimism

Quick heads up about a new season of the podcast
With only one mediocre game to talk about and only one presenter available I've decided to hold off on talking about the Leicester game and instead gone with the far bigger story of the supposed imminent arrival of Erik Ten Hag. Ill be discussing our management appointment policy of the last ten years, the poor decisions and equally poor timing and why i think this is a good move, for once
The Seasons Over

The Seasons Over

Its been an odd week or two for Man Utd because a victory in the league seems to have ended our chances of top four and a defeat at home certainly ended our non existent chances of winning the Champions League. On top of that we have to endure the media feeding frenzy currently taking place where the sports media contorts itself into backing one manager one day, a different one the day after, before concluding that every manager has some perceived failing that make them unsuitable for a job they aren't going to get any way. on the back of that I decided to record a podcast :-)
After a depression week on the pitch I couldn't face talking about football matches and for some reason I thought talking about managers would be more fun. The battle seems to be coming down to Erik Ten Hag or Mauricio Pochettino so I thought a brief, and I mean brief, overview of their careers up to this point might be useful. Have a listen and let me know what you think
Demolition Derby

Demolition Derby

2022-03-1032:01

After an even more abject performance in the derby than we witnessed earlier in the season there was only one game to cover on this weeks show. Neither of us wanted to do and you may not want to listen but if players being slaughtered and an old man getting very sweary is your thing then give it a listen. Its got to get better at some point hasnt it? Hasnt it???
After what can only be described as a very up and down week we look back at the games against Leeds, Atletico Madrid & Watford as well as casting a very nervous glance at the upcoming derby against Manchester City and ask ourselves "What the hell are we going to do this week"
Two games in the space of four days, again, resulted in two very different but equally unsatisfying experiences but on the plus ide we picked up four points, Ronaldo scored for the first time in six games and we kept a clean sheet. What the F*** is going on :-)
After a very trying week both on and off the field it was time for this weeks podcast and I've decided I need someone to share the workload. From this week onwards I've got a co host. My son Conor has manfully stepped in to help his old man out. This week we ll be discussing the FA Cup game against Middlesbrough, the basketball game that broke out in our penalty area and the penalty shootout before moving on to the Burnley game and ending with the age old question, Are we getting any better. Why not have a listen and see if we get anywhere close to answering it

A Tale of Two Tonys

A Tale of Two Tonys

A week that started with a great performances before the wheels fell off, again. A spat played out between our manager and a lazy forward keen to state he wouldn't disrespect the club but not as eager to prove it with his actions, and a trip to Brentford that shouldn't be tricky but will be

Another week another match, crap performances and player excuses. its funnier than it sounds honest
A disappointing look at the first half for the season with very few highlights and lots of lowlights
