Based on the folklore of West Sumatra, Bunian people or Orang bunian are supernatural beings said to be invisible to most humans, except those with "spiritual sight". Orang bunian are described as beautiful, dressed in ancient Southeast Asian style, and nearly identical to humans appearance.
Orang bunian are said to inhabit the deep forests or high mountains in Malay Peninsula, Sumatra & Borneo, far from human contact,as well as near human communities, and are even said to share the same houses as human families. Jakarta Old Town (Kota Tua) or also known as Old Batavia is one of the famous tourist attractions in the city of Jakarta. During the Dutch colonial era, the Jakarta Old Town was known as Asian Gem. Featuring magnificent Mikayla Agusta and Kak Zata, we present to you the history of Lau Kawar through the North Sumatran folktale of The Legend of Lau Kawar. The story tells us about an ungrateful son who does not honor his mother. Today, Lau Kawar is the name of a lake at Karo Regency, but back then the legend told us that the lake was once a village. The village, named Kawar, was drowned following an earthquake and heavy rain.
