dude soy is in EVERYTHING! Had to cut it out for breastfeeding and it's so hard!
I would love for these right-wing panic mongers to explain how India, a country where 40% of the population is vegetarian and therefore have large intakes of phytoestrogens, is the most populated country on the planet with 1.4 billion people.
What I find frustrating about this author's account of weight gain is that the author first experienced weight gain in the middle of her teen years-- which is normal because that's when the body is under a tremendous amount of change (hormonally and physically) and requires nutrition because it's still growing. If she had been a boy her father would have probably called her a growing boy, not immediately called her a sack of potatoes--because young teenage girls have always been objectified and sexualized and put at the already unfair weight and beauty standards that sadly apply to all women. It's not just fatphobic but also has smacks of societal misogyny.
Today, I buy normal fat-content Lay's potato chips that literally have pictures of farms on them and advertise that the potatoes are like "hand selected from Idaho farms", in a way that is clearly meant to evoke a family farm. The use of family farm imagery to sell iunk-food or other mass-produced products is FASCINATING.
I must say, I look forward to the release of your next episodes every month so much! Such entertaining, well researched and varied topics with excellent banter. Keep up the good work xx
I wish you'd blended it like the instructions say - of course the texture's gonna be awful if you don't make it like you're supposed to (not that it'd be Good, but at least it'd be a fair test)
the real housewives fights compilations are great lol thanks mike
not to defend Brittany Dawn.. but bible highlighters are actually real and very different than regular ones because the pages are so crazy thin that regular highlighters would bleed through like 5 pages.. I was a youth group kid in high school so yes I owned a set 😂
My mom was 'that mom' that wouldn't let me have sugar. I was the first of 3, so lots changed when my brother and sister came along. She remembers going through my little kid clothes and finding sugar packets in them. So because I wasn't allowed to have sugar, I would steal and eat sugar packets from restaurants. She gave up that fights own after.
nope. Couldn't do this one
However, many forget that diet cannot be considered an alternative to a healthy diet. Here https://www.ketodietblogger.com/ you can find more useful information for yourself to approach the issue more consciously.
I had originally posted on here about being pregnant and ordering the book that Audrey referenced about raising children but apparently there is nowhere safe from political bullshit. thanks Internet.
no joke, I made a t-shirt with a picture of my friend's toddler's toothless grin titled "an inconvenient tooth" and dressed as the tooth fairy complete with a crown for a crown, tutu, fairy wings, and toothbrush wand
fuck you tea! 🤣🤣🤣
Besides watching a movie that is 12 years old, did the hosts do any research before jumping on this episode?
have not listened yet but living puns so much already
I'm listening to you on the radio right now! You're NPR famous!
this one really hurt, both as a former fat kid who was always raised to believe that my body was wrong and as a fat woman with scars from her bariatric surgery that didn't work and yes I am vitamin D deficient. thank you for being our voice and reminding people that we deserve dignity
this episode was hard. as a lifelong skinny person, this was tough. maybe listen to it in a safe space.
So grateful to Aubrey and Michael for pushing back on this publication. it can be so lonely to maintain an alternative point of view, but you help so much with your in depth analysis
