Description

Management can be the most incredible experience of your career or the worst. It's your choice.

Will you lie awake tonight anxiety-ridden over challenging conversations, missed KPIs, and presentations to senior leadership?

Will you got to work tomorrow feeling as lonely as today?

Is your need for training, coaching and mentoring being ignored because well…you're a Manager aren't you…

Imagine feeling joy when a team member achieves something they said they couldn't because you chose to support and empower them?

Sense the release when you know you don't have to be in control all the time…

What difference would it make to go to work knowing what to do and how to handle situations?

How will you feel when you're no longer alone and you realise there are others out there?
It's your choice.

What's it gonna be? Do you listen, learn and make a change today, or continue with loneliness, fear and anxiety until you burnout or leave your dream job?

I'm Elaine Weir, management coach and mentor, and I'd love to help you become the Manager you know you can be.

I'm on a mission to eradicate inhumanity in the workplace. When I talk about inhumanity I'm referring to changing the face of management so you treat your team and just as importantly yourself with empathy and humanity.

Each episode contains powerful information to help you improve your skills, grow your team, and leave inhumanity at the door.

If you're new to management, have performance issues with your team, feel lonely, or want to be a better manager, this show is for you. Join me for a new episode each fortnight.

Paul Porter & Carolyn Hobdey join me on this episode of the Managers Against Inhumanity Podcast. Carolyn and Paul founded Be-ing Human@, and together with the team at the Farm Club, are building an in-person & virtual supportive and collaborative community. We talked about humanity, leadership and the work Carolyn and Paul are doing with the Farm Club including their new SIMPLE leadership framework. Paul is an in-house or outsourced HR Director, who works with leaders and HR professionals to support them and their teams. Paul spent the first half of his career in hospitality before setting up his  HR consultancy in 2008. He works mainly with SME business owners to support their people and commercial growth. He's seen the good, bad & ugly of organisations and knows that a HUMAN approach will consistently deliver exceptional results. Carolyn describes herself as a 'Joyful Revolutionary'. She believes that by nurturing our individual joyful micro-cultures through attending to our mental and physical health, this collective positivity adds up to better workplace environments for everybody. With 25 years' HR experience, with a specialism in Change Management, Carolyn has worked in manufacturing, supply chain, retail and technology environments. Like Paul, she has seen a lot, not least how we overcomplicate people leadership. It's why they have developed their SIMPLE framework based on their lived experience. Using SIMPLE, they create high-performing Corporate Athletes. Clayton Drotsky joins me on this episode of the Managers Against Inhumanity Podcast. Clayton and I chatted first and foremost about culture, subcultures and the difference between a work environment and culture. We also covered leadership, management and curiosity (although no cats were harmed!). Clayton is the founder of The Growth Crew which helps Leaders, Business owners and Organizations turn their teams into profitable rockstars through effective leadership.   Clayton says "To get the best return from every member of your team or business, leaders must focus on doing the basics world class. Leaders have the opportunity to change lives, their leadership has the ability to influence a team member's development and future in a good or bad way, my mission is to make sure it's always a good way."   You can find out more about Clayton and his work here Clayton Drotsky on LinkedIn To find out more about The Management Mentor and how I can help you become the manager you know you want to be visit www.management-mentor.co.uk or come join me on LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com/in/elaineweir/
Jo Andrews joins me on this episode of the Managers Against Inhumanity Podcast. Jo and I chatted about culture, leadership, management and most importantly the TRAIT test. Listen to find out about our animal influencers, you'll even find out mine! Jo has been transforming normal people into exceptional leaders for nearly 25 years.  She founded The Training Rock in 2020, where she focusses on training leaders to build and maintain trust to create cultures that people want to be a part of.  Her workshops are frequently described as 'transformative' and leave even the most sceptical attendees thinking and behaving differently. Her work positively impacts the bottom line through increased employee engagement, decreased staff turnover and through creating thriving cultures where people are excited about pulling in the same direction. Jo uses her unique TRAIT test as a starting to point to hold up a metaphorical mirror, showing people what it might be like to work with them.  Her workshops then create a safe space to explore different behavioural traits and how to collaborate, particularly with those people previously seen as 'difficult'.  She has designed and delivered leadership training across the UK, Europe and as far afield as Australia and Canada and lives in Brighton, UK with her husband and whichever of her three grownup kids are around at the time.  When she's not delivering training, she's often found on the South Downs with her two labradors, keeping fit on her Peloton or eating crunchy peanut butter which undoes the good work of the previous activity… You can find out more about Jo and her work here www.thetrainingrock.com To find out more about The Management Mentor and how I can help you become the manager you know you want to be visit www.management-mentor.co.uk or come join me on LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com/in/elaineweir/
Rory Berry joins me on the inaugural episode of the Managers Against Inhumanity Podcast. Rory describes himself as the 'Liam Neeson' of staff retention specialists, have a cheeky listen to find out why! Rory and I share a common desire and drive, to eradicate inhumanity in the workplace which is why he is the perfect guest for the first ever episode. We chatted play, lego, burnout, empathy and humanity, it's a thought-provoking discussion for the first episode of the Managers Against Inhumanity Podcast. Rory says 'helping businesses and humans reconnect with play, creativity and fun is what drives me. Yes, there are times when we need to be serious but not all the time in my humble opinion. When you bring creativity, fun and play to an environment you create engagement and that brings productivity.'
