The league, which began with just five members, grew to 19, highlighting the sport's growing popularity. Daz's efforts led to the organization of the first-ever Inter-Station darts match between High Wycombe and Brize Norton, fostering camaraderie and competitive spirit. Despite facing stereotypes of darts being associated with pub culture, Daz emphasized the professionalism and skill involved in the sport. He noted the significant interest within the military, with 600 registered players and some aiming for professional status. To further connect and promote the sport, an online defense darts community was established, allowing players to compete and maintain statistics virtually. Daz highlighted the importance of darts in providing a mental health release and a social outlet for military personnel. He also discussed the top players in the league, their backgrounds, and future aspirations for inter-services competitions. Jill Hickey is a dedicated volunteer radio DJ at the community radio station Marlow FM, where she serves on the management team. She initially got involved with Marlow FM about 10 years ago when some friends who were presenters asked her to come on and talk about her own business. Impressed by her natural ability and invited her to become a presenter. Jill has a creative background, having studied drama and performing arts in school with aspirations of being an actress before going into stage management and working in the TV industry for 10 years. At Marlow FM, Jill now hosts two shows - a music-based show focused on musical theatre and movies on Sundays, and a weekday morning talk show from 10am-12pm featuring interesting guests and local topics. She loves interviewing people and getting to know their stories. Jill is passionate about creating opportunities for young people interested in radio through Marlow FM's training program. Several former presenters have gone on to careers in commercial radio thanks to their experience at the station. Ali Leibowitz is a Marlow local and leader of the Marlow Ukraine Collective, a grassroots initiative providing refuge and support for displaced Ukrainian families. When war broke out, Ali opened her doors without hesitation—turning her spare room into a safe harbour for a mother and daughter fleeing conflict. Her selflessness sparked a movement. This small act of kindness snowballed, with Ali bringing together a team of volunteers to provide housing, jobs, language lessons, transportation, and other forms of support to Ukrainian families in need. Today, the collective helps over 150 displaced families, the majority now living independently thanks to the group's tireless advocacy and fundraising efforts. Ali describes the initiative as a mission driven by empathy and humanity, not politics or bureaucracy. Her goal is to help these families thrive again after unimaginable loss and upheaval. Today, she runs her own circus academy called Katy Kartwheel Circus located in Marlow where she offers classes for kids and adults in a variety of circus skills using aerial equipment.
