2024-09-1033:043

This Bonus episode was first published as a "Guilt Trip" episode on Patreon on 7th April 2019. Dolores McCrea married the man that she had met and fallen for while in Secondary School in Donegal. But her husband, Gary, was a controlling man and became abusive. Soon the violence became too much for Dolores and she left Gary, bringing along their four daughters. But often the time after a person leaves their abuser is the most dangerous. And this was the case for Dolores. Gary McCrea had plans for Dolores once she left him which would lead him to standing in the dock in the Four Courts just over a year later. Music:Kevin McLeod, Quinns Song : The Dance Begins. In the middle of the night on the 13th May, 2000, a flat in Ballymun was set alight. Inside, the body of Derek Benson was found. But his cause of death had nothing to do with the inferno in his bedroom. He had been brutally killed with a blade. The garda investigation into his murder would not only identify his killers, but a litany of abuse and violence that would continue long after the trial had concluded. This episode was researched and written by Aileen Spearin.********Find us on Facebook or Twitter! With thanks to our supporters on Patreon! In August of 2000, Gerry McGinley disappeared from his home near Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh. His wife Julie said he had packed up a plastic bag and had taken off. The police investigation came up with numerous leads. Had Gerry fallen foul of the Real IRA? Or maybe he'd crossed drug dealers? Was his former lover - or indeed her husband - enraged enough to make him run, or worse? It also seemed likely Gerry had been blackmailing local men with videos they'd rather not exist... Or perhaps the answer was much closer to home, and to be found in the newly re-decorated master bedroom of the McGinley's bungalow... The fact that he forced Celine to be without Methadone shows his character - the withdrawal is horrific.

I wonder how the victim’s family had the strength of character not to attack the perp. I would have . I cheered when I heard of attacks on him in jail, especially the stab in his eye.

I don’t understand how prisoners can get out early because of good behavior. Of course they behave well in jail where there are no women to rape or children to sexually molest. But let them out and they do it all again.

Molly claimed that the whole fight started over Sarah wanting to be comforted by her after waking up from a nightmare - but when the police arrived, both kids were asleep and had to be carried down from their bedrooms. You'd think that Sarah would be questioned about what really happened that night...

Molly's comment about the Corbetts buying cheap cigarettes is the stupidest thing ever and it makes her sound like a petulant Kindergartener.

the manscaped commercial is clever and humorous but I am still infuriated by this horrible case and the reign of terror waged by an incompetent biased Court. So I didn't even smile.

Absolutely heart breaking. The families of both girls have not received justice this time around. Hopefully the two monsters responsible for these crimes will receive their true justice in time.
