Paul Verhoeven, author of Loose Units is back with a second book about his father John’s time in NSW police and it’s another fantastic, action-packed and funny read. There’s a deeper, darker side this time too, as the Verhoeven’s confront the brutal bullying Paul suffered during his childhood and the decisions his parents made around dealing with it. This is an intriguing conversation about father son dynamics. Thanks to Paul Verhoeven & John Verhoeven, and Professor Stephen Cordner. If you or someone you know is being bullied, contact The Bully Project.Listen to my other interview with Paul and John on Australian True Crime here.Listen to Paul and John's podcast Loose Units here or on your favourite podcast app.If you'd like to purchase Electric Blue by Paul Verhoeven you can find it here. Caring is fucking hard ... I'm hearing you. Hubby in a wheelchair chronic pain and depression. This year so far... First Bushfires at out back door, middle daughter to Sydney for Uni, COVID, Oldest daughter getting married, trip to see grandbaby in NZ cancelled, Year 11 online, told we need to move, then cat had half her foot amputated from Cancer then the dog got bitten by a snake and died, cat went missing, found her. Wanted to go on a cruise, don't anymore....lol.

I feel so sorry for our retail workers, I have seen first hand how horrid people can treat them. Very sad!! Ok Meshel you let the cat out the bag, or should I say bat. Share it round 😂. Stay safe and healthy!!

It feels like I just spent the last 43 mins having a chat with 2 amazing broads. Really enlightening stuff. Joanna, when you said at the end that the acronyms, vernacular and processes are all designed to keep most of us out, it really hit home. Political representation is abhorently elitist, misogynistic and not even close to resembling democracy. Australia needs you and others like you. How about you, Meshel, Waleed, Penny Wong and Natasha Stott Despoja reform the Aust Democrats? Count me in (I'm a chef so I'll just keep you all fed). Chin up, and Kia kaha x
