REFLECTIONS

REFLECTIONS

A blanket of fog covered the lake when we awoke at the family cottage. The small island close to the foot of the lake seemed to be floating in the water creating a peaceful scene. I sat in a chair and did some reflecting of my own for the past, present and future. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
THE RED IN BIRCH BARK

THE RED IN BIRCH BARK

2025-09-2901:38

I do not usually think of birch bark having any red color, but I recently noticed some. I believe it is a time when the old bark is giving way to the new growth of the tree. There are a lot of things that we can miss in life when our mind is not taking in all that is happening around us. My goal is to have curiosity like a child. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
STILL BEAUTIFUL

STILL BEAUTIFUL

2025-09-2801:08

Most of the wildflowers, sometimes called weeds, have gone to seed here on the mountainside. Still, many of their arrangements, before they fly in the wind, are beautiful. I enjoy them all season long. Regardless of their age, people still have beautiful positive thoughts and actions that are worth sharing. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
TIME TO FLY

TIME TO FLY

The fibrous seeds in the milkweed pods are now setting sail in the winds of autumn. Many of them will find fertile soil for new milkweed to grow next spring. Fall is a great time for the goals we have been setting in our minds to fly into positive actions in search of finding the right soil of life to help them continue to grow. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
RELEAVING THE DEFICIT

RELEAVING THE DEFICIT

2025-09-2601:27

The landscape here in the mountains has experienced a major drought this summer. Finally, a little payment on that debt has been delivered with some drops of liquid gold. It is very easy in life to become burdened down with many kinds of debt. Just as a single drop of water, one step at a time can bring about relief. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
TIME TO RELAX

TIME TO RELAX

2025-09-2501:14

I was recently given a sturdy portable reclining chair that I could take outside to relax in nature for a few moments. It is a wonderful way to rejuvenate my mind and connect with my Soul. I can also take this experience in my mind anywhere I go and reconnect with the feeling anytime I want. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
The red winterberries have ripened and are waiting to make their full presence known when the fall foliage has disappeared. Then they will stand out against a bleak late autumn landscape. When life seems bleak, there is always something we can find that stands out to brighten things up even if just a little. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
ALL FRUMPLED UP

ALL FRUMPLED UP

2025-09-2301:46

I watched a male turkey trying to herd his flock and from the way he was all frumpled up, it apparently wasn’t going very well. I think of people like that when things aren’t going the way they want them to. I don’t know about turkeys, but people can pause when things are out of proportion, take a breath, and connect with their Source to help them unfrumple. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
FALL HAS RISEN

FALL HAS RISEN

2025-09-2201:42

We are now officially entering the fall season. The temperatures will soon fall to the freezing point, and the leaves will fall from the trees. I think of the word “fall” as a stumble in life and how we may rise up again using positivity and heart-based love to use the situation as a building block for the future. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
EYE CATCHING

EYE CATCHING

2025-09-2101:12

A tiny clump of blue flowers amongst dried brown grass and ferns reminded me that something doesn’t have to be big to stand out in the world. There are people who go about their daily lives with a positive attitude doing small acts of kindness that may overlooked. To me they are as eye catching as the tiny asters. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
WELL ROUNDED

WELL ROUNDED

2025-09-2001:33

The mountains surrounding the valley are well rounded from the mile-high ice that covered the land during the ice age. As the earth warmed, the melting ice rounded the jagged peaks and reshaped the landscape. Well-rounded people have been reshaped by life experiences helping them discover and then share their positive wisdom. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
FOCUSING ON THE CLOUDS

FOCUSING ON THE CLOUDS

2025-09-1901:22

There is something about the sky that is mesmerizing, especially when the clouds are drifting over the mountains. It is a wonderful time to let my mind drift out into the Cosmos to communicate with and receive inspiration from the Sources that exist to guide everyone that take a few moments to do so. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
LAYING THE GROUNDWORK

LAYING THE GROUNDWORK

2025-09-1802:23

When I decided to create a memorial meditation spot just above the Ormond Gardens, it turned out to be a bigger project then I first thought. I did a lot of prep work with the tractor, grading the slope and creating easy access. Now one wall has been built, and the stones have been laid to finish the outline. In life we sometimes try to take actions before we have considered the cause and effect on ourselves and others. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
The old outhouse at the Cabin was there when we took over the property but had never been used for the purpose it was built. We store firewood in it. A lot of things in life are as they appear to be. It is good to be aware. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
TAKE OVER

TAKE OVER

2025-09-1601:35

A few years ago, I cleaned up a small area that was covered with wood debris. Now the goldenrod has taken hold and is welcomed by insects searching for the last drops of nectar before frost sets in. Of course, there are still invasive plants which would like to take over. The same is true in people’s minds. Positivity helps the mind stay clear of debris. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
I saw the first pumpkin person to welcome in the fall season standing silently outside the local Historical Society. Soon the valley will be invaded with many more outside businesses and private homes. To me, this is what acts of kindness are all about: much needed joy. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
I can see the changes in the leaves taking place every day as Fall takes over the landscape in the mountains. Soon they will be ablaze in color. Change takes place every day year-round when we pay attention to it, especially with heart-based gratitude and anticipation of constant little miracles. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
One of my favorite September perennials are the phlox. Despite the lack of rain, they seem to still be able to bloom. I am grateful for life’s color. Some people live in a colorless world, focused on worry and stress, with nothing to be grateful in their hearts. If they would change their focus, they could find it. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
SUCCULENT SEASON

SUCCULENT SEASON

2025-09-1201:29

The beginning of fall marks the beginning of the succulent season. These waxy leaved plants produce small flowers that will stay in bloom until frost. I know people who quietly exist unnoticed until something positive they do brings them to the attention of others. Then they return to their non-flashy but meaningful life. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountain Support the show
DOWSING FOR WATER

DOWSING FOR WATER

2025-09-1101:38

Recently a small group of women went up to the Cabin to dowse for water using pendulums, a bobber, Y rods and L rods. Actually, your fingers can also feel that energy. They all came to a conclusion as to where a spring was located. Dowsing is an ancient art that people can use in other decision making. www.michaelhathaway.com/message-from-the-mountainSupport the show
