A Biblical Framework for Intentional, Spirit-Filled Worship. Music can be a source of tension in many churches. Whether driven by preferences for specific styles, popular trends, or traditional practices, corporate worship can feel more divisive than unifying. How can we cultivate worship that honors God and strengthens his church in the midst of these challenges?
Spirit-Filled Singing offers a biblical framework to help believers engage in musical worship with greater intentionality and gospel-centered purpose. Drawing insight from Galatians 5 and Ephesians 5, author Ryanne J. Molinari explores how singing and the fruit of the Spirit share a common purpose―to glorify God and edify his church. Through concise, thoughtful chapters that explore each fruit of the Spirit, this book invites readers to examine their worship practices, assess the condition of their hearts, and grow in Christlikeness through song.
Biblical: Draws insight from Ephesians 5, Galatians 5, and Colossians 3 to help readers glorify God and edify his church through corporate worship
Concise: Nine short chapters make it ideal for seminar classes or small-group studies
Ideal for Current or Future Church Leaders: Helpful for high school and undergraduate music students, church study or staff groups, and worship teams
Thought Provoking: Includes questions at the end of each chapter for personal reflection or group discussion

King of the Groove by Grammy winner, John JR Robinson brings us the behind-closed-doors stories as he reveals how a five-year-old, small-town boy just knew he would be playing (all over the world) along-side the living legends of the music industry for his entire career. His groove played a part in over 50 Grammy winning songs, over 200 US Billboard Hot 100 songs as well as more than ½ billion units sold, earning him a permanent spot in Rolling Stone Magazine’s, “The Top 100 Drummers of All Time” list.
JR gracefully uses his quick wit with his entertaining personality to share lessons of struggle, triumph and the power of believing in yourself to make your dreams come alive. His musicianship has helped define the pop, R&B and Jazz era for the last half century, making him the most recorded drummer in history. No one will forget JR’s landmark “drum fill” which opens the iconic song, “Rock With You,” (from Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall) which is and will always be an essential piece of pop music lore. From stories of the making of one of the highest grossing songs of all time, “We Are the World”, to the first time he met Quincy Jones, (who provides the foreword), to touring with Peter Frampton, working with Usher, Daft Punk, a heart-breaking story with Barbra Streisand, plus 60 more A-list musicians and producers’ stories. King of the Groove is a highly enlightening book that will delight and inform musicians, music fans and entrepreneurs alike. A tour de force experience from beginning to end.

Christians often view Jesus’s miracles simply as proofs of his divinity. However, as prolific author Vern Poythress shows in this new book, they also serve as “signs of redemption,” foreshadowing the salvation that Christ accomplished through his cross and resurrection. This means that the stories of Jesus’s miracles—like the calming of the storm or the feeding of the 5,000—are relevant for both Christians and non-Christians alike, clearly pointing to the gospel. After setting forth a framework for viewing all of Jesus’s miracles through this lens, Poythress then reflects on the meaning and significance of 26 distinct miracles recorded in the Gospel of Matthew—helping modern readers understand and apply them to their own lives today.
Vern S. Poythress (PhD, Harvard University; ThD, University of Stellenbosch) is Distinguished Professor of New Testament, Biblical Interpretation, and Systematic Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he has taught for four decades. In addition to earning six academic degrees, he is the author of numerous books and articles on biblical interpretation, language, and science.
Everything in a man’s life hinges on the kind of man he is. Yet, none of us is naturally a godly man. That's something we have to learn, pursue, and cultivate. We need a manual to help us. This book is a manual for becoming the kind of man God intends for you to be, and leading other men to do the same. Taking ten qualities from the Apostle Paul's short letter to his mentee Titus, The Titus Ten will help you grow in your understanding of the gospel, your identity, your character, your doctrine, and more. Each chapter includes questions for reflection and discussion, to both process the way the Lord is growing you, and read in a group with other men. As you grow in these areas of your life, you'll become the kind of man God desires to use in your family, your church, and the world.

By reading each missionary story, and how each woman embodies a certain passage of Scripture, prepare to be challenged and inspired to follow in their footsteps—because intentionally living on mission isn’t something reserved for heroes of the past. How to Make Sense of Jesus' Divine Claims.
Do you ever wonder if Jesus really claimed to be God? Maybe you've heard people say, “Jesus never said he was God,” or you've been asked, “Why believe Jesus is divine if he never claimed it?” These challenges aren’t just from non-Christians—they show up in church, too. Even if you’re not coming from a place of skepticism, you might still question how well church teachings about Jesus match up with what he actually said. So, did the historical Jesus really claim to be divine?
This book is here to give you confidence in the historicity of Jesus’ claim to divinity. It’s designed to help you explain your faith in a world that increasingly doubts the Bible’s portrayal of Jesus. Instead of focusing on what Jesus’ followers believed, this book takes a different approach—it looks at what Jesus’ enemies thought. How did they interpret his words and actions? Their perspective can help you understand the historical validity of Jesus’ divine claim.
In this book, biblical scholar Mikel Del Rosario
uses historiography to examine claims about Jesus' divinity,
analyzes ancient Greco-Roman, Jewish, and biblical sources to understand how Jesus' words and actions were interpreted by his adversaries and followers, and
argues that Jesus claimed divine authority, a claim supported by strong historical evidence.
If you’re a Christian, this book will equip you to defend your faith against theories that suggest Jesus only claimed human authority, not divine. If you’re someone who sees Christianity differently, this book offers a serious investigation into the claims of the historical Jesus, providing evidence that any theory of his identity must address. Whether you’re searching for answers to your own questions or trying to share about Jesus with others, this book will help you communicate Jesus’ divine claim with clarity and confidence.

A Pastor Looks at Physical Exercise and Its Potential to Serve Spiritual Life and Joy.
We live in an age dominated by screens. For many, life is sedentary, and it’s become increasingly difficult to prioritize physical activity. Quietly conformed to this new normal, they feel sluggish and unmotivated. Others, however, have become entangled in a fitness culture that prioritizes the self, fuels pride, and coddles idolatry. Is it possible to make exercise holy?
A Little Theology of Exercise explores how stewarding our bodies can serve the soul, honor God, and bless others. Combining biblical texts with practical guidance, pastor and author David Mathis encourages readers to embrace modest exercise as a way to deepen their knowledge and enjoyment of Christ and then reflect his love in the world. By placing Christ at the center of physical training, readers will discover a greater joy in exercise and an even deeper joy in their relationship with God.
Christ Centered: Demonstrates how effective body stewardship serves the soul, fostering the ability to know and enjoy Christ better.
Balanced: Helps readers embrace new healthy habits while navigating the challenges of sub-Christian motivations.
Timely: In our sedentary age, this resource spurs physical movement and aims to enrich spiritual joy.
Written by David Mathis: Bestselling author of Habits of Grace: Enjoying Jesus through the Spiritual Disciplines.

David Bentley Hart’s translation of the New Testament, first published in 2017, was hailed as a “remarkable feat” and as a “strange, disconcerting, radical version of a strange, disconcerting manifesto of profoundly radical values.” In this second edition, which includes a powerful new preface and more than a thousand changes to the text, Hart’s purpose remains the same: to render the original Greek texts faithfully, free of doctrine and theology, awakening readers to the uncanniness that often lies hidden beneath doctrinal layers.
Through his startling translation, with its raw, unfinished quality, Hart reveals a world conceptually quite unlike our own. “It was a world,” he writes, “in which the heavens above were occupied by celestial spiritual potentates of questionable character, in which angels ruled the nations of the earth as local gods, in which demons prowled the empty places, . . . and in which the entire cosmos was for many an eternal divine order and for many others a darkened prison house.” He challenges readers to imagine it anew: a God who reigned on high, appearing in the form of a slave and dying as a criminal, only then to be raised up and revealed as the Lord of all things.
David Bentley Hart is an Orthodox Christian philosophical theologian and cultural commentator. He is presently a collaborative researcher at the University of Notre Dame and his research focuses on the philosophy of mind, the metaphysics of the soul, Asian literature, ontology, and classical and continental philosophy. He received his PhD from the University of Virginia and has written several books including The Experience of God: Being, Consciousness, Bliss and The Beauty of the Infinite: The Aesthetics of Christian Truth.

Highlights God's loving care, provision, discipline, and forgiveness
Describes the God Jesus knew, and the one we can know as Father
Knowing Jesus Through the Old Testament
Explores Jesus' self-understanding as both Son of Man and Son of God from his deep roots in the Hebrew Scriptures
Reveals Jesus as the one who fulfilled Israel's God-given mission
Emphasizes that understanding the Old Testament brings us closer to the heart of Jesus
Knowing the Holy Spirit Through the Old Testament
Explores the presence of the Holy Spirit in the decrees of prophets and psalmists, the actions of judges and craftspeople, the anointing of kings, and the promise of a new creation
Shows how Holy Spirit empowered God's people throughout the Bible

Knowing God Through the Old Testament will strengthen and deepen your personal relationship with the triune God by enabling you to know him through deep immersion and engagement with his Word, especially in the less familiar voices of the Old Testament. This is a voyage of biblical discovery, crossing many horizons and exploring especially the sources of our knowledge of God the Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Just as two bookends hold together a row of books, the covenant of works and the covenant of grace hold together the storyline of Scripture. Join a host of twenty-six scholars, including O. Palmer Robertson, Michael J. Kruger, and Scott R. Swain, as they explore how the concept of covenant is clearly taught in Scripture and how it lays the foundation for other doctrines of salvation. This monumental work is Trinitarian, eschatological, historical, confessional, and practical, presenting readers with a great hope and consolation: the covenant-making God is a covenant-keeping God.

How will we be able to recognize the Messiah?
Christians claim that Jesus is the Messiah, but how can we know if that is true? Jesus revealed the truth about himself through passages in the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings—which together comprise the Tanakh (the Old Testament).
In Does the Jewish Bible Point to Jesus?, Messianic Jewish author David Brickner likewise guides us through twelve prophecies from all three sections of the Tanakh to show:
why God promised a Messiah.
how God planned to bless the whole world through the Jewish people.
the location and strange circumstances of the Messiah's birth.
how and why the Messiah would suffer and die.
how the Messiah would exceed human limitations . . . and more.
You'll also find stories of contemporary Jewish people who discovered compelling connections to Jesus in their own Bibles.
Whether you're curious, skeptical, or a committed believer—if you are in search of truth, this book is for you. Come and see how God's timeless plan to redeem and renew the world still shines as a beacon of hope today.DAVID BRICKNER is the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors for Jews for Jesus. He previously served as the Executive Director and CEO from 1996 – 2024. Born in Massachusetts to Jewish parents, he comes from five generations of Jewish followers of Messiah Yeshua. David considers himself living proof that following Jesus does not require abandoning one’s Jewish identity.
David received his theological training at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and earned a BA in Judaica from Northeastern Illinois University. He went on to earn his MA in missiology with an emphasis on Jewish studies from the Fuller School of Intercultural Studies.
He is the author of several books, including Christ in the Feast of Tabernacles, Future Hope—A Jewish Christian Look at the End of the Worldand Does the Jewish Bible Point to Jesus? The evil that afflicts our lives often leaves us confused and directionless, wounded and powerless. How should we respond to evil's power to assault us? How can we understand God's work in a world that seems all too often to be permeated with evil?
Narrating her own wrestling with evil as well as engaging in biblical and philosophical analysis, biblical scholar Ingrid Faro explores the many dimensions to evil. Soberly honest, biblically engaged, and theologically nuanced, Demystifying Evil examines the power of evil to disrupt and fragment our lives and tempt us to collude with it.
But evil does not have the last word. Faro takes us on a journey into the book of Genesis, the Ancient Near East culture, the cross, and her own story of suffering to engage the undoing of evil.
Dr. Ingrid Faro (PhD, MDiv) is Professor of Old Testament and Coordinator of the MA in Old Testament–Jerusalem University College Program at Northern Seminary in Lisle, Illinois. She previously served as Dean of Academic Affairs at Northern, Dean of Theology at the Scandinavian School of Theology, and Director of Masters Programs at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where she also taught Hebrew and Old Testament. She is an international speaker and the author of Evil in Genesis, Demystifying Evil, Honest Answers (co-author), and the forthcoming Redeeming Eden: How Women in the Bible Advance the Story of Salvation, as well as numberous articles, chapters, and reviews. About David
I’m David Garfinkel. I help individuals and groups make their advertising more effective.
People and organizations get the most from working with me, when they are familiar and comfortable with direct marketing methods.
I’ve helped copywriters and businesses in more than 100 industries increase profits. My book Breakthrough Copywriting is a #1 Bestseller on Amazon. Way back in 2004, I created and published the first widely used set of Copywriting Templates.
Since 1993, sales letters I’ve written have brought in as much as $40 million to one business. These days, I don’t write that often for clients, though. My main client work is coaching professional copywriters, business owners, and in-house copywriters for organizations.
Many of my professional copywriter clients have reached the top of their respective fields. Businesses I’ve worked with have added millions of dollars to their bottom lines.
Clients like my style because I personalize coaching for each person I work with, based on how they learn most easily and quickly.
One of my most successful clients, Chris Haddad, says:
“I don’t know how he does it, but David Garfinkel’s got an almost magical knack for boiling down tough and brainy marketing and business concepts into easy chunks that anyone can understand… and take immediate action on.”
Disclosure: I don’t always know how I do it, either. But I hear different versions of Chris’s kind words from others, all the time.
On the large-organization side of my business, I’ve consulted to publishers like Time-Life Books and Agora Financial. With Agora, I’ve participated in more than 100 large- and small-group copy-critique calls and webinars—and led some of those myself.
Business publications that have featured me include The Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine, Sales and Marketing Management, International Business Magazine, and Fast Company.
Before I started my copywriting career, I was San Francisco Bureau Chief for McGraw-Hill’s World News Service.
As a longtime fan of screenwriting methods, I’ve discovered some Hollywood techniques are very useful in adding color, and what I call “eyeball glue,” to your copy.
Also… I’m a musician and composer. No symphonies or operas, though. I write, play, and sing light-hearted songs. And I’m a partner in an advertising jingle company.
My formal education: I got my Bachelor’s Degree in French a long time ago. Much more recently, I got a Master’s in Education, and a graduate certificate in Evidence-Based Coaching.
Informally: I’m learning new and better ways to do things, all the time!
So… there you have it.
A Groundbreaking Portrait of African American Christianity
The history of African American Christianity is one of the determined faith of a people driven to pursue spiritual and social uplift for themselves and others to God's glory. Yet stories of faithful Black Christians have often been forgotten or minimized. The dynamic witness of the Black church in the United States is an essential part of Christian history that must be heard and dependably retold.
In this groundbreaking two-volume work, Walter R. Strickland II does just that through a theological-intellectual history highlighting the ways theology has formed and motivated Black Christianity across the centuries. Through his original research he has identified five theological anchors grounding African Americans in Christian orthodoxy:
Big God
Jesus
Conversion and walking in the Spirit
The Good Book
Deliverance
In volume 1, a narrative history, Strickland tells the story of these themes from the 1600s to the present. He explores the crucial ecclesiastical, social, and theological developments, including the rise of Black evangelicalism as well as broader contributions to politics and culture.
Swing Low offers a defining rubric under which to observe, understand, and learn from the diverse and living entity that is African American Christianity. Volume 2, a companion anthology, covers the breadth of these historical developments by presenting primary-source documents so we can listen to Black Christianity in its own words.
Walter R. Strickland II (PhD, University of Aberdeen) is associate professor of systematic and contextual theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has coauthored or contributed to several books, including For God So Loved the World: A Blueprint for Kingdom Diversity. He is a host of the White Horse Inn podcast and founder of Cultural Engagement and Aptree Learning.
Christian schools only have two major sources of revenues: tuition and philanthropy. The Christian School and Philanthropy delves deeply into how school leaders can raise transformational philanthropic dollars. At times story telling, at times grittily detailed, at times reflective, we challenge secular assumptions about donor motivation, the nature of the donor, and typical fund-raising scenarios. In its place, we provide a deeply Biblical narrative pulling from the examples of Jesus’ own fund-raising committee, the travels of Paul, and the extraordinary fund-raising achievements of the Hebrew Scriptures. Backed by the latest research from multiple sources, and proven in the experience of our Christian schools, we offer you practical pathways irrespective of the size of your school. Professionals and volunteers alike will find helpful strategies and tactics to take your school to the next level.

David’s Background
David grew up playing piano and drums. During grade school, he sold his Matchbox car collection to buy a MIDI keyboard. Soon after he was performing with an all-adult orchestra for the show, Godspell. By high school, his bedroom was full of keyboards, keytars, and drums. In college, he bought a 4-track recorder and began recording and mixing local bands, leading to the creation of Edge Studio!
After college, he engineered at a major studio, worked on multiple albums with Deep Purple, learned to twirl drumsticks from Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel’s drummer – see photo), recorded José Feliciano, Joe Lynn Turner, and Gary Moore.
Simultaneously his own Edge Studio was expanding to national acts. So David went solo, co-writing and playing with John Mayer (keys, drums, recording, and mixing), mixing for Mel Tormé, and releasing over 150 albums!
In 2007, David transitioned Edge Studio to a drug-free studio environment, which turned away many big bands. So he adapted to voice over. And Edge Studio V2 was born!
On a personal note, I consider myself a very lucky husband and a proud dad to two incredible sons. I’m also the happy owner of two snorty English Bulldogs who love to drool around the house! And every day at 4:30am, I’m a (sometimes limping) triathlete.
The unique richness of the book of Job cannot be simply explained—it must be experienced. While Job presents challenges for scholars, ministry leaders, and laypeople, it also contains powerful lessons on faith and perseverance in the face of suffering that we all need to hear.
In Wrestling with Job, Bill Kynes, a lifelong pastor, and his son Will Kynes, a Job scholar, guide readers on a journey through this complex text. Each chapter combines exposition, spiritual application, and a deeper look at some of the thornier aspects of the text. Complete with reflection questions for groups or individuals, this book equips anyone wondering how the lessons of Job apply to their own lives to consider how they too might practice defiant faith.
