On this episode of Michigan Wild, Nate gives his farewell as the host of Michigan Wild moving forward. Throughout the intro he expresses his gratitude for the opportunity and finds it hard to put into words how much has transpired over the last few years. He plans on still doing content and some guest co-hosting in the upcoming weeks and months and encourages anyone to follow along on social media to see the direction he ends up going. It's fitting that for the farewell episode Nate has the opportunity to record once again with Robert McIntyre after a successful late season hunt. Nate and Rob decided to go on a bow hunt together down to Illinois on some public land. On this final episode of season 3 of Michigan Wild's The Last 7 Days, Nate does a quick recap on his final week of hunting in Michigan. On Thanksgiving evening Nate was able to punch 2 more doe tags and continue working on closing the gap on buck to doe ratios. It was a picture perfect evening hunt with snow on the ground and deer piling into his food plots. Couldn't ask for a better late November hunt. Looking ahead for the rest of the year Nate touches on his plans to head down to Illinois for an extended weekend hunt with his buddy Rob. The goal is to learn another area he has never hunted and try and find the best food sources to key on the bed to food pattern. On this episode of Michigan Wild's The Last 7 Days, Nate Rozeveld discusses the 7th week of his season. This week marked the highly anticipated opening day of rifle season in MIchigan. Nate shared his story of opening day spent with his family and the tags punched after the hunt. Nate also recaps the last few hunts he had this week including a missed opportunity on a mangy coyote. Rounding out the episode Nate does share some of his insight for the skewed buck to doe harvest in Michigan and compares some harvest data to the surrounding Midwest states. He highly recommends Michiganders to continue to report their harvests to help add data points in order to move the needle in a positive direction for helping manage the resource. On this episode of Michigan Wild, Nate goes through some current events that involve some real world struggles that are very relatable. He feels this is the least prepared he has been in over a decade going into a fall chasing whitetails. However he is still very excited and ready for October and the passion to fill some tags with his bow is there. Henry, Nate's son, did connect on another awesome buck for the youth season and Nate does a breakdown on the hunt in this episode.Nate also takes the time to give an update on his fall food plots and mock scrapes and how he has a solid game plan for attacking different properties for the first 10 days of October. He does have a couple target deer he is hoping to locate and hunt and feels the mock scrapes and new plots will aid in that process. Ending the episode Nate talks about his mindset and the struggles he has faced with his own hunting journey. Both guys have taken advantage of trying new things this September in the woods. Nate had just returned from his Wyoming deer hunt and dove into more detail than previous episodes of the trip and day by day events. Leading up to this week Adam has a bear tag for the UP and he was feeling very uncomfortable. The process of finding a target buck can differ between hunters, however depending on circumstances and the amount of time spent in the woods can increase your odds of finding a buck to hunt. On this episode of Michigan Wild, Nate and Bryan Meyering have a Summer BSin conversation.Bryan and Nate have become friends these past few years, that stemmed from hunting some of the same deer. Their shared passion for habitat improvements, raising their families in sports and the outdoors, and chasing whitetails make for a fun episode and an easy friendship. Habitat improvements is a work in progress for Nate, however Bryan has found a great ROI on all the work he has done with his property. From improved food plots, timber stand improvement, and diversity throughout his property he is already holding more deer consistently, and noticing an increased age class of bucks. The guys also touch on some of their hunting plans for the fall, including out of state plans and their ideas for fall food plots to help capitalize on trends they have seen in the past.
