Justin Boyle was a fun chat! No-carb, meateater, total ultrarunning badass. Recent winner of the Ciento Dos Trident 102 miles of South Florida sunshine, heat and soft sand. Ran a 3 week stretch before that of challenging summer races. Total beast. Enjoy! @ultra_carnivore Squirrel's Nut Butter: Natural Anti-Chafe & Skin Restoring Salves Mount to Coast | For runners who transcend distance.
I met Michaela Blomqvist the day before Western States. She stopped by our (Tonya Olson's) foot pre-taping tent at the expo. She's good friends with Tonya. Michaela was preparing for the biggest race of her somewhat short ultrarunning career the next day. She got in off the waitlist with 2 tickets in the lottery. She crushed it too! Hear her story and race experience. Enjoy! @swedish_trail_goddess @wser Squirrel's Nut Butter: Natural Anti-Chafe & ...
Paul Lind from Idaho, is an interesting guy. His family has been heavily involved with the Western States Endurance Run since it became a foot race. His dad, Dr. Bob Lind was the medical director for many years and since 1978 started every race with a family 20 gauge shotgun until the year he passed. Paul took over those duties after that. Paul has run the race a couple times. Once at 18 years old, and then 20 years later and still earning a silver buckle. ...
I had the chance to chat with Jenny Lee Allen about 2 months ago. It was right after the Lake to Ocean 100k. She recorded another local podcast around the same time, so I sat on this one a while to let it run its course. Jenny Lee won the L2O women's race this year. If you haven't heard of this iconic Florida ultra, you ain't livin. It is a microcosm of many Florida ecosystems and wildlife. It is beautiful, remote, and scary. It starts at Lake Okechob...
I met Natalie on Statesmas Eve. She was getting her feet pre-taped by me and my buddy Gregg Lawson. She was just overflowing with excitement and enthusiasm for the sport and her opportunity to compete in a bucket list race, The Western States 100 mile Endurance Run. We saw her on the track afterwards and she crushed it. Here her story, her experience at the race, and about her huge 10 person crew. Ultra running community at it's finest! Enjoy @wser Squirrel...
