If you’re wondering, what do I need to do to get my money sh*t together, you are in the right place. This is a very special episode that was recorded live just a few weeks ago on the Fishbowl app with some of my very favorite guests. In this live conversation, I talk with Amanda Holden, our investing guru, aka Dumpster Doggy and creator of the Invested Development course, Rachel Richards, the queen of passive income and author of Money Honey, Jacqueline Twillie, the master negotiator, Ceo of Zerogap and author of Don’t Leave Money on the Table, and Whitney Hansen, money coach extraordinaire and host of the Money Nerds podcast. There is so much to learn and take away. One small disclaimer before we dive in…this was a live recording on an app, there are some occasional mic noises, etc., but we’ve done our best to smooth those out so you can sit back, grab a fav beverage and listen to these amazing women dispense life-changing money wisdom.LinksInvested Development Course https://amandaholden.podia.com/invested-developmentThe Dumpster Dog Blog https://dumpsterdogblog.comMoney Honey Rachel https://www.moneyhoneyrachel.comZeroGap.co https://www.zerogap.coJacqueline Twillie https://www.jacquelinetwillie.comWhitey Hansen https://whitneyhansen.comThe Money Nerds Podcast https://www.themoneynerds.comFishbowl App https://www.fishbowlapp.comEpisode SponsorsBig thanks to our sponsors who make this episode possible.Meet the eco-friendly, FREE online shopping service called Olive. FSAs and HSAs have been a hot topic in recent months due to multiple legislative changes regarding deadlines and product eligibility. All of these changes have the potential to impact you if you don't fully understand them. Let’s get in the know with Rida Wong, President of Health-E Commerce, and understand the amazing financial benefits of HSAs and FSAs.Get this -More than 70 million Americans are currently enrolled in a flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) which can help them save money on taxes every year and pay for healthcare expenses now and in retirement (for HSAs). Now, just like flavors of ice cream, HSAs and FSAs have some things in common and some things that differ. Once you’re in the know, you can choose what flavor of tax-advantaged account works for you. But what I love about each of these is the ability to use those tax-advantaged dollars (think of it like buying stuff at wholesale prices) for everyday purchases like band-aids, over-the-counter allergy meds, makeup wipes, lotion, and so much more. I like the ideas being spoke about for making money in other ways and cutting spending; however, the discussion around traditional/passive investing in saying that it has duped prior generations is incorrect. Even investing in 401(k) for 35 years in mutual funds making 5-7% and with 10-15% of gross earnings and employer match means an individual can retire comfortably. I believe you have sent a mixed message to the audience.

I disagree with her premise on health plans I wouldn’t say she’s that educated either on this she works for Cosmo... also the subject they didn’t address which should be a big deal is that younger people who aren’t in therapy or see a dr for conditions etc are better suited to a HDHP the employer may sometimes add money into that plan to begin with my company inject $500 in my HSA and then I just put 10$ a check in that fund both PPO and HDHP have out of pocket maximums and they may be 3-5,000$ and that’s a RARE thing to happen and if it does it does and you just wil have to pay for it either way but it doesn’t make sense to be fearful of rare things you just cross that bridge god forbid but if you’re healthy 20-30s don’t see doctors then save that money it’s about $1000 difference for me in premiums a year and what are the odds I’m going to use that much health insurance to make up for that $1000 in premiums? Very low. So if you get sick once or twice a year you can just use the money you’ve put in your HSA.
