After a long hiatus, the Millennial Mother podcast has returned! Host Ashley is joined by long time friend Rico to discuss how the murder of George Floyd and subsequent Black Lives Matter protests impacted their lives. Rico opens up about starting therapy and limiting social media to help cope through the trauma, anger, and negativity during the summer of 2020.  Ashley talks about the conversations she had with her daughter about the events and how it inspired her to create Black Lives Matter content using her knowledge of child development and early childhood education. The friends also share experiences with racism and prejudice within their families. Follow Rico on Instagram @Rico_RockstarWe love to connect with you & would appreciate a 5 star rating and review of the show :)@MillennialMotherMusic: Cxdy- FairfaxThank you for listening & stay awesome! xxx
This episode of Millennial Mother features nutritionist, dietitian, author, and host of the Fast Food Healing podcast - Sarah Bingham. She talks about how her journey to nutrition and healing through food began in the 1970s after her doctor recommended eliminating white flour and sugar, inspiring her to earn a Master's degree in Food Science and Nutrition. She touches on how fast food tends to be the easy way out for busy parents trying to put a meal on the table, but are being misled by labels on foods and affected by addictive food additives. She urges parents to make healthy food choices a priority and mentions how crappy food is cheaper, but not in the long run when considering days missed at work, co-pays, etc. when dealing with a sickness that could be prevented by a healthier diet. She also mentions seeking out real food through community-supported agriculture, growing your own food at home, and co-op cooking/meal sharing with others in your community. Music: Cxdy - Fairfax
Blogger, Vlogger, and all-around awesome Instagram mama Danielle Jones joins Ashley for episode 7 of the podcast. They start off by talking about controversial parenting techniques of sleep training, crying it out, and letting your kids play outside by themselves. The conversation then turns to discussions of having a healthy fear of the world by not letting it consume them in a way that would shelter their kids from reality. They then talk about how much they choose to share online in a digital world and what they decide to keep more private or sacred, not falling into the comparison trap on social media, and the pursuit of keeping it real and genuine online. Music: Cxdy - Fairfax
Ashley does a solo episode of the podcast focusing on the stress and anxiety that comes along with the holidays. Holiday blues, grieving over lost loved ones, and traffic woes are all discussed. She then rants about seeing multiple parents film their kids crying/meltdowns and using it for fodder on their social media and how disturbing this is. She also talks about regifting and how it shouldn't be such a big deal, having to tell a family member she didn't want her kids to have their gift, and recycling paper and cardboard after the gifts are all opened and unwrapped. She also gives an update on her ADHD testing/evaluation.Music: Cxdy - Fairfax

She gives advice on ways to promote health and wellness through simple habits. Taco Bell orders are revealed and how it's okay to indulge in junk food and not feel guilty about it. Stephanie talks about becoming a member of a farming co-op and how she feels its not just about getting fresh produce, but more about being part of a community. They move into discussing ADHD coaching and how Kristen has a personal coach and a business coach. They also discuss the naturopathic approach Kristen decided to take during her "mom phase" and the pros and cons of using this method to manage ADHD symptoms while not on medication.
