Making Meaningful Connections - 072
One of the most valuable and rewarding changes I have made has been cleansing and leveling up my social circle. Big life changes are hard to achieve when you’re tempted to fall into patterns that aren’t serving you or your highest good. When I was finally able to stand firm in who I was becoming, I made room for some really deep friendships with some of the most inspiring people I know. But of this process has been connecting with people in more meaningful ways… like over shared interested rather than just a shared location.Well I’m happy to bring on one of those new friendships today. His name is Michael Trainer. He has spent the last 23 years traveling the world to learn from the best in human optimization; the Peak Minds of the world. What I noticed about Michael from the day we met was his ability to connect with people on a deep level. And that ability has helped him connect with some of the world’s top thought leaders – from traditional healers to doctors at the cutting edge of modern science, Nobel prize winners to elite performers. He literally hosted the Dalai Lamas birthday party you guys.Well today he’s going to share with us his secrets.Today we will learn:How to create meaningful connectionsHow to create a movementEasy ways to get beyond the surface with new friendshipsSupport our Sponsors:FitOn: Use code MINDLOVE for a Free 7-day trial and 80% off a subscriptionThirdLove.com/MINDLOVE for 15% off your first purchaseFour Sigmatic: Use code MINDLOVE for 15% off your entire orderShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/072Learn more about your ad choices. Guide to Grace-Filled Political Conversations - 071
The last few years, almost any political conversation has just left me feeling drained. It just seems like we’re more divided than ever and you’re asking for trouble if you bring anything up, unless you’re in a room of people you already know is going to agree with you.The more we give up our ability to have these conversations with people that have a different point of view, the more divided we become because we’re less likely to be engaged with a viewpoint that’s not our own.Today we’re talking to Beth Silver and Sarah Stewart Holland, the authors of I Think You’re Wrong but I’m Listening. They’re two friends from college who ended up on two different sides of the political debate. They figured out how to have these discussions in a healthy way, and are here to share what they learned with us!So after the first few minutes, a tornado wiped out Sarah’s power, but the conversation flowed so well with Beth I don’t think it takes anything away. Plus, you still get both sides with Beth as the conservative viewpoint and me as the liberal viewpoint. And don’t worry, we’re not getting into the nitty gritty of triggering political topics. Moreso how to be able to talk about them.Today we will learn:How to find your political whyThe importance of being able to hold tensionHow to handle politics on social mediaSponsors:Four Sigmatic Mushroom Coffee: Use code MINDLOVE for 15% off your entire orderBlinkist.com/MINDLOVE to start your 7-day trialFitOn: Use code MINDLOVE for a free t5rial and 80% off a subscriptionShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/071Learn more about your ad choices. Bio-Hacking for Goals with Ayurveda - 069
Ep. 069: Today we're going back to a topic that we've covered before: ayurveda, but whereas the last episode focused more on the health and wellness aspect of ayurveda, we're going to make it a little bit more applicable to today's world and learn how to use it to crush your goals.Ayurveda is the world's oldest holistic healing system developed over 3000 years ago in India, and it's based on the belief that health and wellness depend on the delicate balance between mind body and spirit. So really, everything is connected. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means the science of life.Today we're learning how we can use ayurveda for living our purpose, actually following through on those goals, and overcoming some of the most common things that hold us back according to our different doshas, or our mind-body types.Today will be really fun because you'll be able to figure out what Dosha you are, and how it affects how you tackle your goals or interact with the world. Then how to use different principles of ayurveda to counterbalance excesses or a deficiencies.Today we're talking to Sahara Rose – the best selling author of Eat Feel Fresh and The Idiot's Guide to Ayurveda. Deepak Chopra called her "a leading voice for the millennial generation into a new paradigm shift". She loves to make spiritual and Ayurvedic wisdom fun and relatable so that it can actually serve the needs of people today.Today we will learn:How to identify your different DoshasHow our mind body types can be affected by age and even the climate we're living inFun, easy, modern ways to bring imbalances back into balanceSponsors:Four Sigmatic - Use code MINDLOVE for 15% off your purchaseTalkspace - Use code MINDLOVE for $45 off your first monthVistaprint - 500 custom cards for $9.99+Show Notes: https://mindlove.com/069Learn more about your ad choices. Releasing Shame - 068
Episode 068: Today, we’re talking about releasing shame. I think we all have something from our past that we’re not totally proud of. Maybe even something from our present. I have a ton. Part of it is that I have an addictive personality. So there have been so many periods in my life where my behaviors took on an energy of their own and I felt like I lost control.Todays episode has a lot of sensitive topics so if you have little ones around or you yourself are sensitive to topics like sex work and masturbation, I recommend you pick one of the many other episodes. But I feel this topic is much needed because there are a lot of common human things that we wrap in judgment and shame and I would like to be one of the people shining love on those topics to help release the collective shame. Today we talk to Sydney Campos. She is a fellow wild woman with a wild story, transcending 10 years of drug and alcohol abuse and sex work. Through truth and vulnerability, only a few years later, she was serving her souls mission healing and teaching around the world, signed a major book deal, and was leading retreats for visionary leaders eager to live in alignment with their highest soul self.We will learn:* The myth of mistakes* How we go into bad decision denial* How our shame (and releasing it) affects our collective consciousnessShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/068SPONSORS:* Policy Genius Learn more about your ad choices. Some pretty extreme comments in this episode.. I’m no doctor myself but to call the biggest murderers on the planet doctors, sounds a little pro pseudoscience to say the least....

Megan While I don’t think doctors are murderers by any means, I do have quite an aversion to them. In my personal experience, when I needed help the most, I was handed a bandaid instead of a cure... and all of those bandaids were highly addictive and not at all treating the root of the issue. And then there was my dad who quickly died from a cancer diagnosis and was never once suggested anything having to do with a diet change... which has shown to have incredible effects. And then there are the multiple family members addicted to opioids after being prescribed. And then there is the lobbying by big pharma... So while I would personally never say murderers, I do feel VERY strongly that our medical system is screwed up and I’d go as far as saying corrupt in many segments.

I'm gonna put it out there- I really enjoy this podcast. I'm a guy so it might seem weird to say I relate to some of these things but I definitely get a lot out of the lessons! You're easy to listen to and really believe in what you're saying but without sounding overly optimistic, like bordering on "you're definitely on something" lol. Thank you and keep it up!

One of my favorite parts of your podcast is that you don't have a 15-20 minute intro + ads like so many others in this genre seem to do! straight to the point and right into the good stuff, LOVE IT! ♥️

Have you touched on the psychology of "avoidance" ? ... Something that has come up more recently for me as a real problem I need to tackle. I think the issue goes back years and years ago, and I didnt think of it as an issue in the past. Until now, avoidance is something Ive realised IS a thing that needs to be slowly unlayered and understood deeply as to why I avoid or why did I just waste my time with something irrelevant? Why am I not getting stuff done when I know it's important and means a lot to me? I havent always been consious of my avoidance. I've always had that inside voice wondering what's wrong with me... And I've at times been called lazy when I actually feel like I'm stuck because of some form of anxiety.
