A little something different today.  Usually new episodes drop on Tuesdays but, think of this like a bonus episode.⠀⠀You may remember way back in episode 051, we has Ashley Stahl on the show. I know a lot of you really resonated with her. Which is totally understandable because she’s awesome. Ashley is one of my most inspiring friends. ⠀⠀Awhile back, I went on her podcast and shared some of my story that I haven’t fully gotten into before, and my process around self-love. Self-love did not come easy for me. I self-sabotaged like a mad woman in my twenties. It took me a long time to really understand why my life was the way it was and after years of reflection and self-development, I realized it all came back to self-love.⠀⠀So I’m sharing an episode I recorded on Ashley Stahl’s podcast here. ⠀⠀A little forewarning, This episode is a little raw, I look back on some really dark moments, but there’s out of it came a lot of life lessons I’m excited to share with you all.⠀⠀Check out Ashley's You Turn Podcast here.Learn more about your ad choices. How many of you feel burnt out on life? Why is it then some people thrive the more they have going on, while other people just get by?⠀⠀Sometimes, even when we’re caring for our energy, it still seems to run out too quickly. You start checking things off your to do list and a few tasks in you're wiped and need a glass of wine and a Gilmore Girls marathon and just can’t until Monday.⠀⠀But then you turn on the TV and you see Beyonce freaking slaying it at life and think, she’s been twerking for 37 minutes straight and I’ve been holding my pee through 3 commercials breaks just so I don’t have to get off this couch.⠀⠀What if we have more energy than we think we do? We tend to think of our energy as a limited supply.⠀⠀But what if there’s a deeper sense of energy that we can tap into at any moment? We just need to know how. That’s what we’re talking about today.⠀⠀Our guest is Rajshree Patel, a mind and meditation expert and an international self-awareness coach. Over the last 30 years, she has taught hundreds of thousands of people in more than 35 countries the ancient tools for accessing the innate source of energy, creativity, and fulfillment⠀We will learn:The worst habits that drain our natural energyHow to stop swimming upstream and flow with the natural order of thingsHow to tap into our limitless vital force⠀Show Notes: https://mindlove.com/099Learn more about your ad choices. Do you struggle with sleep? Or do you get plenty of sleep and still don't feel quite rested? We are the only species that tries to skimp out on our sleep, all the other ones just do it as part of their natural cycles.Over a year ago, I did an episode on the science of sleep, and I got a lot of people reach out saying it was what they needed and how it was a huge eye opener on why sleep is so important. And today, we’re getting actionable. Yes, even sleep is an action. This episode is absolutely packed with info. And we have arguably the most famous sleep doctor in the world. He’s actually called  The Sleep Guy. Dr. Michael Breus. He’s been on Dr. Oz 39 times trying to convince you all to prioritize your snooze. We will learn:Why sometimes we sleep a full night and still feel tiredThe best way to beat that mid day fatigueWhat we can do better during the day to sleep better at nightHow to optimize our relationship with coffeeA secret tip for high achievers called the nap-a-latte.Show Notes: https://mindlove.com/098Learn more about your ad choices. Is true freedom found in structure? We humans crave freedom. We push against boundaries. We challenge authority. We break the rules. But why is it that often, the more freedom we have, the more imprisoned we feel? Why is it that when we create structure in our lives, we find the most freedom?Today we talk to Aubrey Marcus, founder and CEO of Onnit, a lifestyle brand based on a holistic health philosophy he calls Total Human Optimization. He also hosts the Aubrey Marcus Podcast. This is his first interview since he ended his very public open relationship. So now that it’s over, what does he think about open relationships? Did the freedom of love ultimately cause the downfall of his engagement? And why is it always after the fact that we’re able to see clearly?Possible trigger warning in this one: We discuss open relationships, which, for some reason, really affects some people... if you're one of these people, skip this one. OR ask yourself WHY a life choice that isn't your own affects you so much. :-)Today we will learn:how  the most freedom is often found in structure.how to escape our own confirmation bias when it comes to decisionsand how to keep  showing up in all areas of your  life, even when you’re going through something really freaking hardShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/097Learn more about your ad choices. What would be possible if you followed through on your best intentions? What could you accomplish if you could stay focused and overcome distractions? As a society, we’re pretty distracted right? You can tell just by noticing how many people are staring at their phones all day long. But what if tech isn’t the real problem… or at least not the root of the problem?Think back to before smart phones. Without the endless apps and gadgets we have now, were you accomplishing absolutely all of your tasks, errands and big dreams?I was still procrastinating everything to the last minute. I was still finding ways to distract myself from what my soul REALLY wanted to do… or tuning into myself enough to even discover what that was.So today we are talking to Nir Eyal. He’s the best selling author of Hooked, on how to build habit forming products… and now his newest book, Indistractible: How to Control your Attention and Choose Your Life. I know none of you want to reach the end of your life realizing how much of it you wasted, so pay attention to this episode! We will learn:Why the opposite of distraction is not focus. Letting Go of Fear - 095

Letting Go of Fear - 095

2019-09-1000:51:4628

Not only does fear feel totally sucky,  fear robs us of our potential. Everyone has fear… and the way we experience it determines if we go for our dreams and lead a life we love, or we stay stuck and unfulfilled, and feel like we don’t have a purpose. Show Notes: https://mindlove.com/095 Fear is an emotional response to a perceived threat. So it can totally be a byproduct of our self-worth issues, but it goes even further, because it can attach itself to anything. One of the things we are most afraid of is the unknown… which means it can be difficult to take action on anything that is uncertain… which applies to everything we haven’t started yet. Our guest today is Monica Berg, author of Fear is Not an Option. She’s had an incredible life story. 17  years  ago  she gave birth to a  boy with special needs and in that moment, was forced to face what is a lot of parents biggest fears… and in doing so it turned into her greatest teacher. Today we will learn:Why the unknown is often scarier than the worst case scenario How fear physically manifests and what to do about it  How to shift your perspective and  collect evidence for your own fearlessness  Sign up for the Morning Mind Love at mindlove.com!Learn more about your ad choices. Have you ever had a goal that you worked really really hard for, for months maybe even years, and then when you accomplished it, it just didn’t feel as great as you thought it would? Show Notes: https://mindlove.com/094 So if our goals aren’t always fulfilling, is there really any point in having goals if they aren’t gong to fulfill us anyway? YES… yes you should have goals… but there are important ways we should choose and strive for these goals if we want them to feel meaningful to us. Today we’re talking to Kelsey Ramsden is my friend and also an award-winning business mogul and entrepreneur. She’s ranked amongst the top women entrepreneurs in the world. After achieving every milestone she set out for, scaling multiple companies to millions of dollars - she still didn’t feel complete. So she studied why. Most of the remarkable things in our lives are by way of chance, however we often try to engineer everything remarkable… “If I do this… then that…”The key is to put yourself in the way of chance. But how do we do that?Today we will learn: Why your big moment is often underwhelming.  How to define yourself outside your success.  How to put yourself in the way of chance to create magical synchronicities. --Sign Up for The Morning Mind Love for short daily reminders of how freaking powerful and magical you are, straight to your inbox!Learn more about your ad choices. Have you ever asked yourself:What is this all for? What is the meaning behind all of this?Is there more to life than eat, sleep, work, repeat?Whether you’re caught in the rat race, always striving for more more more, or you’ve achieved more and it wasn’t as fulfilling as you thought it would be, this episode is for you. We’re talking to Lydia Dean, the founder of GoPhilanthropic. She has so much wisdom around philanthropy, raising a nomadic family, adopting a child from China, and most of all, finding meaning in whatever you choose to do.Today we will learn:How to break free of the norms and follow your inner voiceWays we can address our search for deeper meaning and fulfillmentHow can we each play an active role in global issues, not just by giving money but in sharing our time and heartsShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/092Sign Up for The Morning Mind Love for short daily reminders of how freaking powerful and magical you are, straight to your inbox!----Support Mind Love's Sponsors: ----BetabrandSuper comfy stylish clothing for work and play. How many hours do you spend on your phone per day? Did you know that our screens are actually changing the way our brains work, including our attention spans, our expectations and most of all, our capacity to feel happiness? One of the biggest factors in happiness is having a sense of meaning or purpose and in making progress toward that. But thanks to technology, for the first time in history, we’re consuming more than we’re creating. This isn’t an accidental byproduct of technology… we’re actually being manipulated by companies who have their own bottom line in mind over the health of our planet. Here are a few stark facts:10 years ago the average attention span was 3 minutes. Now it’s 45 seconds.Multitasking results in a 40% loss of productivityExperts recommend spending 25 mins to 2 hours working on a project at a time. If you’re spending less then you’re killing your concentrationIt generally takes 23 minutes and 15 seconds to return to work following a distractionOur guest today is the perfect person to speak on this topic. Brian Solis is a tech data analyst who has studied the effects of emerging technology. When he started to realize the profound effects this technology was having on his own brain, he knew he had to do something to stop it.Today we will learn:How technology is designed to manipulate us and the consequences of thatSteps to live with more intention once we free up time from all that numbingHow to reclaim our focus to find flowShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/091Sign Up for The Morning Mind Love for FREE short daily reminders of how freaking powerful and magical you are, straight to your inbox!-----Support Mind Love's Sponsors: -----Talkspace Talkspace online therapy makes taking care of your mental health more affordable and convenient than ever before. I love the viewpoints in this talk show as well as the diversity and oddness of the subjects selected. I've always been interested in the "non-norm" and this show brings light to all of those things. Giving me different options to deal with things I don't understand gives a certain power to oneself as well as clarity and understanding. Thank you and keep it up!

I love, love, LOVE your content. I always wonder what you're going to come up with next, and you never disappoint! This came in perfect time as I'm about to start nursing school and needed a little push to deactivate some social media! I also have an add-on downloaded to my laptop that only allows for one tab open at a time. I can get up to 10 in one sitting if I'm not careful. 😂 Thanks for your hard work and excellent content. I have a question about this one. How can you tell apart intuition from something that you really want. For example, I was attempting to read my intuition while listening to the podcast and what I pictured was something that I’ve been already wanting and talking about so how do I know it’s my intuition and not just that I’ve been thinking about that for the past two days? Or do the things you really want and your intuition coincide? 🤔

Love this podcast. Thank you. It always gives me insight and pause as to how I interact with my love one. However this guest sounded just very angry, and so certain about things. So quick to pigeonhole and to group disorders. She cannot possibly know if a toxic parent will be a toxic grandparent. And her arrogance of book sales; I can't help but wonder how many people have thought that she is toxic.
