Almost 20 years ago, she had all the things she had been dreaming of. Big house, beautiful family, the white picket fence. But she still felt unfulfilled. She ended up convincing her husband to uproot their lives and and two young kids and go travel the world in search of a deeper meaning.By giving up everything, she found everything she really needed: simplicity, fulfillment, and ways too give back. She has so much wisdom around philanthropy, raising a nomadic family, adopting a child from China, and most of all, finding meaning in whatever you choose to do.Today we will learn:How to break free of the norms and follow your inner voiceWays we can address our search for deeper meaning and fulfillmentHow can we each play an active role in global issues, not just by giving money but in sharing our time and heartsShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/092Sign Up for The Morning Mind Love for short daily reminders of how freaking powerful and magical you are, straight to your inbox!----Support Mind Love's Sponsors: ----BetabrandSuper comfy stylish clothing for work and play. How many hours do you spend on your phone per day? Did you know that our screens are actually changing the way our brains work, including our attention spans, our expectations and most of all, our capacity to feel happiness? One of the biggest factors in happiness is having a sense of meaning or purpose and in making progress toward that. But thanks to technology, for the first time in history, we’re consuming more than we’re creating. This isn’t an accidental byproduct of technology… we’re actually being manipulated by companies who have their own bottom line in mind over the health of our planet. Here are a few stark facts:10 years ago the average attention span was 3 minutes. Now it’s 45 seconds.Multitasking results in a 40% loss of productivityExperts recommend spending 25 mins to 2 hours working on a project at a time. If you’re spending less then you’re killing your concentrationIt generally takes 23 minutes and 15 seconds to return to work following a distractionOur guest today is the perfect person to speak on this topic. Brian Solis is a tech data analyst who has studied the effects of emerging technology. When he started to realize the profound effects this technology was having on his own brain, he knew he had to do something to stop it.Today we will learn:How technology is designed to manipulate us and the consequences of thatSteps to live with more intention once we free up time from all that numbingHow to reclaim our focus to find flowShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/091Sign Up for The Morning Mind Love for FREE short daily reminders of how freaking powerful and magical you are, straight to your inbox!-----Support Mind Love's Sponsors: -----Talkspace Talkspace online therapy makes taking care of your mental health more affordable and convenient than ever before. Your life and what you do with it, is directly impacted by how worthy you feel. If you don’t feel like you deserve something, chances are you won’t have it.Why? You won’t take action or you won’t create the energy needed to attract the outcome. How worthy you feel will affect your ability to see things, even challenges as things that happen for you instead of to you.So it’s really important we get a handle on this. But how? It’s not like we just chose to not feel worthy. Our self-worth is usually a reflection of a whole lot of past experiences, what other people have said to us, other people dripping their personal crap onto us, and evidence we’ve collected throughout our lives.Today we’re talking to Tracy Litt, a certified mindset coach and transformation therapist and author of the book Worthy Human. I loved this interview because she calls you on your bullshit. She’s fun and direct and cuts right to the heart of what’s real and true.Today we will learn:How to own your shit through a total subconscious auditHow to handle it when you’re affected bu other people’s shitHow to change your experience by tuning into higher parts of yourself and othersSupport Mind Love's Sponsors: ThirdLove.com/MINDLOVE for 15% off your first purchaseFIGS Scrubs ← Use code MINDLOVE for 15% off your first purchaseTalkspace ← Use code MINDLOVE for $65 off your first monthShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/089Sign Up for The Morning Mind Love for short daily reminders of how freaking powerful and magical you are, straight to your inbox!Learn more about your ad choices. Right now in the world, the sacred feminine is rising. We see it in the MeToo movement, we see it with the rise of female-founded companies and women CEOs, but we also see it in the shift of masculinity. We live in a patriarchal world. This doesn’t mean that men are ruling the world, it means that the dominating energy has been of the masculine. Both men, women and non-binary have both masculine and feminine energy. Having too much of one or the other causes and imbalance. Most of modern history has suppressed the sacred feminine, from as far back as burning witches at the stake, to limiting women’s rights. But now, the feminine is finally claiming her place. And with that comes a lot of learning to fully harness our feminine power. The feminine is all about receiving – it’s the root of our intuition. So many of the things women have been convinces are weaknesses or embarrassments are actually our power… from our big emotions, to our menstrual cycles. As the sacred feminine takes its place at the table, we need sisterhood and connection more than ever.Today’s episode is full of juicy women’s history, how to work with our goddess energy, and unleashing the wise, wild women within ourselves. Our guest is Rebecca Campbell, devotional artist and author of popular books such as Light is the New Black and Rise Sister Rise. I’ve been a fan of hers for awhile so I’m really excited to spend this time with her today.Today we will learn:How to recognize the ways we have been keeping ourselves containedHow to use your menstrual cycle to align your work flowHow we can best show up for the balance of the masculine and feminineSign up for The Morning Mind Love here!Show Notes: https://mindlove.com/088Learn more about your ad choices. We live in time of entrepreneurship. Even people with full time jobs are likely to have a side hustle. Today, anyone can start a business if they have the right mindset. It’s easy to look at influencers and entrepreneurs and assume they got lucky, but the truth is, it takes a lot of work and a lot of passion. So today we’re going to go deep into the mindset of a highly successful entrepreneur. Our guest is my friend and mentor Pat Flynn – a beloved thought leader in the areas of online entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and lifestyle businesses. He is an entrepreneur, blogger and podcaster best known for his blog and podcast Smart Passive Income, where he conducts income experiments and shares the results.Pat’s podcast was the very first podcast I got hooked on. What drew me to him was how authentic and genuine he was when he was sharing knowledge. In fact, he was the person who taught me the ins-and-outs of podcasting AND he was one of the people who helped me gain more clarity around my purpose. When I think of an entrepreneur, Pat is one of the first people who comes to mind because of how many things he’s got his hands in… from Kickstarter to podcasts to blogs to YouTube… he even started a business on a topic he knew nothing about – food trucks – just to show with the right technique and most importantly, the right MINDSET, anyone can be successful while building a life they truly love.Today we will learn:How to decide your next big moveHow to find people who align with your missionHow work life balance is less about balance and more about finding your centerSupport Mind Love's Sponsors: Talkspace ← Use code MINDLOVE for $65 off your first monthCitizenryPodcast.com ← Use code MINDLOVE for $50 off your purchase of $200+FunctionOfBeauty.com/MINDLOVE  ← Get 20% off your first order Show Notes: https://mindlove.com/087Learn more about your ad choices. Have you ever thought of what it would take to get to absolute peak performance in your body, career, or just life in general?I remember watching the Olympics as a kid and thinking, "Those people must just be built differently. They probably always knew they were destined to make it to the top."It's easy to make assumptions, but sometimes our assumptions are just excuses that give us an out for our own greatness.Today I'm extra excited because we're talking to my friend Sarah Wells. We've become close this last year, both leveling ourselves up (which by the way is one of the best ways to surround yourself by people who will lift you higher).Sarah Wells is an Olympic 400 meter hurdler, and the founder of the Believe Initiative. She explains how the power of believing in yourself can help you accomplish anything you set your mind to. Plus she gives us insight into what it takes to become world-class in anything.Today we will learn:How to get back up when life gets you downUniversal principles to becoming the best at anythingHow to expand your self-beliefs to achieve anything Support Mind Love's Sponsors: PolicyGenius.comShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/086Learn more about your ad choices. There’s a saying, “Expectations are premeditated resentments.” We project our past into our future or we hold people and circumstances to imaginary standards. But just because we expect something, doesn’t mean it will happen. This becomes a real problem when we pin our hopes on happiness on having our expectations fulfilled. It’s basically giving the reigns of our happiness to our circumstances or to other people. We all face setbacks we cannot control, yet we often forget that we have a choice about how to handle those setbacks. The “Expectation Hangovers” we feel in the wake of disappointment, failure, or loss can become doorways to tremendous opportunities and life-changing gifts.Managing your expectations is not about lowering your standards. Today we talk to Master coach Christine Hassler who specializes in radical self-reflection. We talk on how to pursue the right goals for the right reasons and also what to do when things don’t work out as expected.Today we will learn:The difference between Intention vs expectationPractical steps to releasing expectation in relationshipsHow to stop judging your emotionsSupport Mind Love's Sponsors: Talkspace ← Use code MINDLOVE for a FREE WEEK!Show Notes: https://mindlove.com/085Sign up for the Morning Mind Love here!Learn more about your ad choices. Sparking Creativity - 083

Creativity is an innate ability in everyone. If you can think of an idea… even a bad one, you’re creative.  Creativity is just finding an idea or solution that works by experimenting and playing... and professional Creativity is when you can turn these new and imaginative ideas into reality. It takes practice to learn to consciously drop into specific brain states like creativity, and even more practice to learn to stay there... and even more practice to override your current mood, or feelings of doubt and fear. Our guest is Nancy Hillis, an abstract artist and Stanford-trained psychiatrist. Nancy guides artists to create their deepest, most authentic art through her signature approach, which combines art and psychiatry. She really understands how our brains work and how to work them to create what we desire.Today we will learn:All about the inner landscape of creatingHow our own fear and resistance gets in the way of creatingThe importance of your ugly first drafts, sketches, paintings, or ideasSupport Mind Love's Sponsors: FunctionOfBeauty.com/MINDLOVE for 20% off your customized shampoo and conditioner setTalkSpace.com <- Use code MINDLOVE for one week FREEShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/083Learn more about your ad choices. I love, love, LOVE your content. I always wonder what you're going to come up with next, and you never disappoint! This came in perfect time as I'm about to start nursing school and needed a little push to deactivate some social media! I also have an add-on downloaded to my laptop that only allows for one tab open at a time. I can get up to 10 in one sitting if I'm not careful. 😂 Thanks for your hard work and excellent content. You're doing an amazing job.❤

I have a question about this one. How can you tell apart intuition from something that you really want. For example, I was attempting to read my intuition while listening to the podcast and what I pictured was something that I’ve been already wanting and talking about so how do I know it’s my intuition and not just that I’ve been thinking about that for the past two days? Or do the things you really want and your intuition coincide? 🤔

Love this podcast. Thank you. It always gives me insight and pause as to how I interact with my love one. However this guest sounded just very angry, and so certain about things. So quick to pigeonhole and to group disorders. She cannot possibly know if a toxic parent will be a toxic grandparent. And her arrogance of book sales; I can't help but wonder how many people have thought that she is toxic.

thank you so very much for the insight and love you send out into the world through your poscast! I am a new listener and resonate deeply with all of your episodes. I was born with toxic parents and now at 35 have finally made the choice to save myself and end tbe cycle of being in a 13yr toxic relationship. the last 7months of freedom haven't been easy but the saddness of it ending is much easier to handle then the pain of "being in it". I am proud of my progress and after listening to this episode am reassured that not only is true happiness possible but that I was not crazy, and that his behavior was disrespectful. and most importantly gained the strength to know that to finally let go of that rope is not selfish and I don't need to explain myself or give him one last good bye. THANK YOU
