Michael Barbour is currently an Assistant Professor at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from the Department of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology at the University of Georgia (Athens, Georgia), his Master of Education (Teaching and Learning), with concentrations in Literacy and Computers in Education, and his Bachelor of Education (Intermediate and Secondary) from from Memorial University of Newfoundland (St. John's, Newfoundland). Prior to his studies in education, Michael completed his Bachelor of Arts (Honours), with a major in Political Science and a minor in History, from Carleton University (Ottawa, Ontario). Recently, he completed a Certificate in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University (Antigonish, Nova Scotia).

Paul Shuster was a classroom teacher for 31 years, a Trainer in Adult Education for 15 years, and an Education Instruction Specialist for IBM before joining Media-X. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Manitoba, Teaching Certification from Queens University, and additional qualifications in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, the University of Waterloo and Sheridan College.
Leslie S. Conery, CAE, PhD, Deputy CEO and ISTE Conference Chair, holds an MS degree in computer science and a PhD in curriculum and instruction with research emphases in the areas of educational technology and professional development. Dr. Conery brings a learner-centered perspective to her work on education transformation based on extensive classroom teaching and school administration experience. She serves on ISTE's leadership team for the NETS, the widely recognized and adopted educational technology standards. Conery has served on numerous boards and advisory groups supporting innovative educators on every continent and has collaborated with educators and policy-makers globally to bring about systemic change in education. Recent projects include increasing the representation of women in technology, developing assessments for digital age learning skills, and serving on the board of ICIE, ISTE’s affiliate in India. Conery serves as executive management responsible for ISTE’s membership, education leadership, conference, marketing and communications, and operations activities in the Eugene, Oregon offices.
Joe Jamieson was appointed Deputy Registrar at the Ontario College of Teachers in September 2009. While he was an intermediate teacher and curriculum consultant for the Halton Catholic DSB, he worked extensively with other educators writing and implementing new curriculum and policies. Shortly after joining the College in 2001, he was appointed to manage the College's complaints and hearings processes. He was subsequently appointed Director of the Standards of Practice and Accreditation Department and then Director, Investigations and Hearings. He holds a MEd from the University of Toronto, a BA from the University of Waterloo and a Diploma in Secondary Education from McGill University.

Marzano, PhD, is cofounder and CEO of Marzano Research Laboratory in Englewood, Colorado. A leading researcher in education, he is a speaker, trainer, and author of more than 30 books and 150 articles on topics such as instruction, assessment, writing and implementing standards, cognition, effective leadership, and school intervention. His books include Designing & Teaching Learning Goals & Objectives, The Highly Engaged Classroom, Formative Assessment & Standards-Based Grading, On Excellence in Teaching, District Leadership That Works, and The Art and Science of Teaching. His practical translations of the most current research and theory into classroom strategies are internationally known and widely practiced by both teachers and administrators. Dr. Marzano received a bachelor’s degree from Iona College in New York, a master’s degree from Seattle University, and a doctorate from the University of Washington.
Dr. Christopher Spence is a renowned educator and dedicated community advocate. He took on his most recent role as the Director of Education for the Toronto District School Board on July 1, 2009. Dr. Spence has more than 15 years senior administration and teaching experience and has authored several books. He has been widely recognized for his leadership work within the broader educational community to manage issues, develop policy and promote causes that benefit students. He played a significant role in the development of a number of successful initiatives, including Boys 2 Men, Project G.O. (Girls only) and the Read to Succeed Program, which motivates and teaches boys to read. The success of these programs were featured in a documentary about his life, Person to Person and in an article in the Reader's Digest, titled Man on a Mission. Dr. Spence has won many awards for his outstanding contributions to education and the community, including outstanding alumni award from Simon Fraser University, Positive Impact Award and Canadian Black Achievement Award for Professional Achievement and Community Leadership. He was recognized by the City of Toronto for best practices in education and by the community group Why We Are Here, for outstanding educational contributions. Dr. Spence also has five film credits to his name. He is a former CFL athlete and is married with two young children.

Dr. Heller has been quoted in numerous business publications and has spoken or keynoted at many domestic and international conferences. Nelson Heller started The Heller Reports in 1988. In 2002, the business was acquired by Scholastic Inc. and QED. Nelson joined MDR when QED was acquired by MDR in February 2009. In its early years, The Heller Reports offered periodic international EdNET Trade Missions and published two valued technology-focused newsletters—Educational Technology Markets and Internet Strategies for Education Markets—covering business opportunities in the education markets. The Heller Reports pioneered electronic education market B2B publications with a news alert service, archive, and virtual community for educational industry executives. He previously served as research vice president for SFN, an educational and professional publisher and radio and TV industry firm; before that, he was president of Educational Programming Systems and the Technology Assisted Learning Market Information Service (TALMIS). Dr. Heller is recipient of the “Making It Happen” education industry award. In December 2009, he was inducted into the Association of Educational Publishers’ Hall of Fame. He holds graduate degrees from MIT and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
De Marque co-founder Marc Boutet is President and CEO of the group. A graduate in computer science from Laval University, he became involved in several institutions and projects, including as a member of the board of Library and Archives nationales du Quebec, University Press of Quebec, the Alliance Digital, as president of the Association of Multimedia Producers of Quebec as a member of the Committee multimedia SODEC or co-chairman, with Raymond Bachand, the site of employment during the Quebec Summit and Youth. He received numerous decorations, including that of Young Entrepreneur in Quebec Arista Sun Life in 2000, Raymond-Blais medal in 2005 and was a finalist among such persons, 2010 Press / Radio-Canada.
