really interesting so far. its cool to hear how the research was conducted and is a useful example of oral history!
I wonder if he had the blue coveralls on that last flight.
My god, Bob! He was a photojournalist and he didn't think to document this very important piece of wreckage?! I'm cringing the whole time I listen to him all lah di dah I dunno...🙄🤔 And the troopers? Did you go ask at their station if they had it?!
How can I report this podcast for HORRIBLE inaccurate journalism? This is so uncomfortable to listen to. My families history in Alaska goes back to 1949. We founded the first African American Southern Baptist church in Alaska. my grandmothers best Sunday hats are on display I the Anchorage Museum every Easter weekend. This podcast is so uncomfortable to listen to.
Noo don't end!
I thought it was interesting :) Kind of like an episode of Oak Island.
sorry for the second comment but something I thought of is towards the beginning of the episode Peggy was called by the president if all this was true then she would have had prior knowledge of the bomb being on the plane if we could get some voice analyzers to analyze her voice just see how much stress was I. her voice I'm kind of surprised that that sound bite was not played a couple times during this podcast I myself found her voice and wording kind of odd and I kind of think she rushed the President Nixon off the phone what are you guys think about having her voice analyzed
Good job men. I have benge listioned to this pod casted kept me listening while I waxed floores
save yourself an hour and just skip this episode. absolutely pointless and added nothing to the investigation. disappointed.
After listening to the episode today I wonder if there's a tie in between the ham operators recollection of what the pilot had said about the plane slipping and any correlation with the location of where the tailpiece was found. If for example the plane could have crashed directly above where the tailpiece was found would add credibility to both those angles of the story. Love everything about this podcast.
So far this is very interesting and well made. Following from Tucson!
my mom alice yabbara ran with them and my grandfather got some flyboys to run drugs to the base outhere (flyboys are pilots) my moms fam ran hand and hand with them
One more point. channel 9 is the normal "calling" or "emergency" channel on CB. that is why he said that some people made a habit of listening on Ch 9 occasionally talking about people out of gas and etc. So it could make sense to broadcast on ch 9 so unfortunately anyone with a CB could have made the transmission. But you need to put dots on map locating all the people that heard it to prove it was a hell of a long distance transmission. *****IMPORTANT THING TO ASK THE GUY THAT DID THE 100HR SERVICE IS DID THE PLANE HAVE A CB RADIO IN ADDITION TO THE NORMAL AIRCRAFT VHF******
I think the confusion about CB or Ham is solved by saying he had a general coverage HAM(amateur radio) transceiver. HAM transceiver can hear on frequencies that are not considered "ham" frequency. A general coverage HAM transceiver can listen to all frequencies but only talk on the bands allotted for HAM. So he probably also had a CB radio along side to talk to anyone he heard on the CB channels while scanning with the HAM rig.
the "ham" was unfortunately a little inconsistent. But a good point to bring up is what frequency they heard this on. I am not sure why a plane would broadcast on a channel 9 CB. but maybe that would be more CB listening than another plane. And why in the hell would hearing a transmission make them good to look at pictures for the plane? maybe his memory
is he getting to a point or waiting for someone else to solve it? What a dead end
I enjoyed it!! This Definitely caught my attention & boggled my mind with possible scenarios. I commend Jon, he did the best he could to TRY and find the truth. This IS definitely a big mystery but, will we ever know what or who was responsible?? I sure hope so?!
This story goes nowhere.
anyone else have issues with the podcast just replaying parts? like youll be listening then all the sudden it's replaying the last 5 minutes you just listened to. maybe it's the way it was uploaded from it's original podcast player to castbox? have noticed it happen like 4 or 5 times
this is incredible stuff. can't wait to hear how it ends
