I don't know Ken. I don't think any amount of cheesy space eggs or unexplored family topics will ever top the creepy "stranger danger" vibe in Miri for me. *shudders*

Was great until halfway through. I think the startrek continues is amazing. The woman listener was awful but I guess star trek had to appeal to them in a different way that it appeals to us guys (sorry sexism creeping in). I can't believe her favourite episodes were Kirk falling in love. Realistically though if you are only at a planet for a few days it's hardly enough time to form a bonding relationship. When Starfleet is compared to a space navy, Those signing up for service know it's going to be a term of celibacy, but nowadays with mixed fleets and big crews ( like in the next generation they know that some fraternisation is going to occur between crew members.) Kirk was a very charasmatic character that's why he appeals to everyone. If Starfleet is compared to more like an Airline. Its not uncommon for pilots to have girl friends in every city and a lot of crew relationships. There should have been an episode called Kirk's Women. These often glamorous guest stars are like the bond girls of today. Maybe Flemming got inspiration from Star Trek. When I was younger it was all over my head but now it's much more noticeable.

I have to agree with the presenters this episode was one of my least favourite. It had too many inconsistencies like it was an identical Earth. Earthlike would have been better. Also that the children had already survived 300 years before they had even showed up. Yet their minds had not matured. They didn't know how to farm or anything. They only knew how to torment grown ups and go bump, bump to hit them. Again it has spawned so many similar themes in the sci-fi genre.

This was a great episode which dealt with the dilemma of what might happen in the future if people's consciousness could be put in a robotic body and the possibility that would offer almost immortality. This has spawned many future episodes that explore similar themes. Also different shows like Caprica which was an origin story of how the new cylons in Battlestar Galactica came about and how they could create a virtual world for their minds. However Dr Corban wanted to take his research even further and filter out different traits or memories from the original. The acting had some highs and lows like lurch being one of the originals transferred by the old ones. Who misunderstood his commands from Corby. I would have remade the end and they would have discovered Dr Corbyn was robot that he had already transferred his consciousness into a new body.
