“When we devote ourselves, when we love the Lord our God more than anyone or anything else, then idols will have to fall.” Today our Moms in Prayer Michigan State Coordinator, Mary Jane Geers, joins us to talk about overcoming barriers to prayer. Prayer isn’t always the easiest, most convenient or comfortable thing to do, but the fruit that comes from it lasts for eternity. Listen in as Mary Jane takes us to God’s Word and reminds us Who holds the victory. The Moms in Prayer Podcast is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. To find practical and spiritual advice to help you grow into the parent you want to be visit ChristianParenting.orgABOUT OUR GUESTSWrestling with inner arguments immediately began after receiving an invitation to a Moms in Prayer group: “I’ll sound like a fool.” “I don’t have time for that.” “What’s the point?” Fears, idols, and doubts rose up in opposition to what Mary Jane knew was the right thing to do. She didn’t feel like doing the uncomfortable, the inconvenient, nor the irrational.  But God.  Through Holy Spirit’s conviction and empowerment, she said “yes” to a friend’s (and the Lord’s) invitation to attend a Moms in Prayer group. Despite the fear of others, the opposition of her flesh, and the lies of the enemy, she showed up. And is beyond glad that she did!Mary Jane cannot imagine how radically different life would have been without Moms in Prayer. Now 20 years later, after her first yes to Moms in Prayer, she can testify that she has seen many children, including her own three daughters, grow up to love, serve and follow the Lord. In addition, by God’s grace, school communities have been sustained and strengthened despite the temptations and trials of this world. Finally, praying God’s good and beautiful word has helped her and other moms to live victoriously in Christ instead of unnecessarily defeated by the enemy.  Praise be to Jesus Christ, who has destroyed the barriers! Fellow sisters in Christ, may we demolish arguments and be found faithful to follow the Lord, no matter what He asks us to do, especially with Moms in Prayer.SCRIPTURESWe must demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIVFor God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJVTherefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7 NKJVLove the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ Mark 12:30 NIVBut seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.Matthew 6:33 NIVnot giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25 NIVBut when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. Fear is not of God because God is love.” Today we welcome back Moms in Prayer Founder, Fern Nichols, for part two of God’s Great Love Casts Out Fear. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:10-12 ESVBe of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. So resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brothers and sisters who are in the world. 1 Peter 5:8-9 NASBRemember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; John 15:20a NASBin whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. We dive into the seventh beatitude, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” Janet reminds us of the peace we can find in our Savior despite the circumstances we are walking through. More recently, Janet has been involved in women’s ministry teaching.SCRIPTURESBlessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9 ESVFor while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6 CSBTherefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. Romans 5:1, 10 ESVEverything is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18 CSBDo nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God,did not consider equality with Godas something to be exploited.Instead he emptied himselfby assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of humanity. And when he had come as a man,he humbled himself by becoming obedientto the point of death—even to death on a cross. Philippians 2:3-8 CSBTherefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1 NIVLet us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. “The God of the universe tells us to just bring our appetites and He will take care of the rest.” Today we continue in our series, Beatitudes: Building Godly Character in the Woman of God, by welcoming mom of three, Lorielle Agraso. We dive into the fourth beatitude, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Lorielle reminds us about the fullness of life that comes as we seek God and the things of Him. She helps us step away from the world and into the goodness of God.The Moms in Prayer Podcast is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. To find practical and spiritual advice to help you grow into the parent you want to be visit ChristianParenting.orgABOUT OUR GUESTLorielle Agraso is a follower of Jesus with a heart for revival and God's truth. She became a stay-at-home mom after her first of three was born. Her husband Gabe, is often traveling for work, and she found a deeper calling for her home and family as she learned to trust God in much of the solitary time. She was born and raised in Southern California, but recently moved to middle Tennessee, where the family has lived for almost 4 years. This was a big leap of faith, drenched in much prayer, but Lorielle found peace in surrendering what she once controlled, to dive deeper into what God was providing their family. They now live on 16 acres with 3 children (1 girl and 2 boys), 24 chickens, 6 ducks, 5 dogs and 2 kittens with hopes to add additional animals in the years to come. She loves growing her garden, cooking, trying new things and having friends and family over for game nights. Her faith has become her biggest adventure and each season she looks forward to the time spent with God as He plants new seeds and brings her into the next chapters He intends her walk to through.SCRIPTURESBlessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Matthew 5:6 ESVBe careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors. Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Deuteronomy 8:1-3 NIVTaste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8 NIVMeanwhile his disciples urged him, “Rabbi, eat something.” But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?” “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. John 4:31-34 NIVO God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;    my soul thirsts for you;my flesh faints for you,    as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food,    and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, Psalm 63:1 & 5 ESVYou prepare a table before me    in the presence of my enemies. Psalm 23:5a NIVFor the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. Romans 14:17-18 ESVLINKSMOMS IN PRAYERNew to Moms in Prayer? How to get startedUnshaken Book & Bible StudySupport Our Mission

Psalm 37:8-11 NASB“Then I will purify the lips of the peoples,    that all of them may call on the name of the Lord    and serve him shoulder to shoulder. From beyond the rivers of Cush    my worshipers, my scattered people,    will bring me offerings. On that day you, Jerusalem, will not be put to shame    for all the wrongs you have done to me,because I will remove from you    your arrogant boasters.Never again will you be haughty    on my holy hill. But I will leave within you    the meek and humble. The remnant of Israel    will trust in the name of the Lord. They will do no wrong;    they will tell no lies. Matthew 5:4 ESVAs it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us. For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 ESVThe Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,    because the Lord has anointed meto bring good news to the poor;    he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,to proclaim liberty to the captives,    and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor,    and the day of vengeance of our God;    to comfort all who mourn;to grant to those who mourn in Zion—    to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning,    the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;that they may be called oaks of righteousness,    the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified. Isaiah 61:1-3 ESV“Even now,” declares the Lord,    “return to me with all your heart,    with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Joel 2:12 NIVJust as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth. The Lord did not hesitate to bring the disaster on us, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him. Daniel 9:13-14 NIVThe Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 NIVSo with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. “My greatest strength is realizing that Jesus is my greatest need.” Today Aubrie sits down with author and speaker, Shellie Rushing Tomlinson, to talk about the peace and joy that is found in walking with Jesus.
