Today, I'm talking about how easy it is to get into a rut when you prioritize other people's expectations over your own and look for outside validation. (I'm raising my hand on this one!!) I'm also talking about the first two steps that I took to get out of the rut I felt myself fall into with my marriage, creativity, life... everything.  Let's connect on Instagram I'm @MonicaChats the podcast is @NotANiceGirlPodcast This week's Show Notes monicafrederick.com/pulling-yourself-out-of-a-rut/
If you've tried vision boards, manifesting, gratitude journaling, affirmations or even new systems/routines and you feel like nothing is working, there's one reason why. Join me on the podcast as I talk about how it's not that you don't *believe* enough, but simply that you don't think of what you're trying to create as a fact.  Check out the pod on Instagram @NotANiceGirlPodcast to grab the journal prompts that go along with today's episode! If you're ready to take what we talk about on the podcast and apply it permanently, then book a consultation call with me here.
In this episode, I'll discuss the two reasons that learning how to ask for help has been challenging and what action steps you can take to overcome them. With a new year comes a few changes and this podcast is one of them! Welcome to the newest version of the podcast, NOT A NICE GIRL. In it, we're talking all about dropping labels and self-doubt that keeps you stuck and living authentically. In this episode, I'm chatting with you about how I used to pride myself on being a nice girl and what I sacrificed in order to do so. I'm also talking about what the word means and how it's been holding you back from living with kindness and dreaming big.  LINKS: This week's shownotes Instagram (@MonicaChats) Book a free discovery call
Today, I'm talking about the ONLY New Years Resolution you need to set and keep for yourself: only doing things that are true to who you really are (not who you think you should be or what you're expected to be).  Essentially, we're talking about how having "live authentically" is the only goal you need to set because it will help you take the necessary actions to improve your life in all the ways you truly want. You have a natural compass that guides you to make actions that help you grow, and to keep you from burnout. We all have it, except, a lot of us ignore it or try to bury it with binging tv (I'm guilty of that!), drinking excessively, overeating or emotional shopping.  Today on the podcast, we're talking about how to interpret your emotions (no matter if they're positive or negative) and use them to better tune into what you need.  LINKS MENTIONED: Today's Shownotes Consultation Call with me Instagram
When you think about reaching your goal, what is your motivation to get there? Is it the excitement from the future possibilities? Or is it fear of not making it?  In this episode, we’re talking about the different types of motivation you can use to compel yourself to take action on your goals and how you're probably using Anti-Inspiration Motivation. Check out more resources that go along with the episode on today's shownotes. I used to always judge myself when I was feeling bad emotions. I'd tell myself to "stop being so angry" .. sensitive.. anxious, etc. But it NEVER helped. There's a few reasons why this was, and I'm going over them in today's podcast! When you stop labeling your emotions as "good" or "bad" then you'll learn how to deal with negative emotions in a way that keeps you from wasting time trying to avoid "bad" ones. Dive into this week's episode to see how.  And if you want to revisit what we talk about this week, make sure to check out the detailed shownotes at Monicafrederick.com/ep66
When I first started thinking about improving the quality of my life, I tried to make my husband just as excited about personal development as I was. I'd beg him to listen to the same inspiring podcasts and books that I was into and hoped he would push me along on my self-improvement journey when I felt my motivation drag. But after a while of that NOT working, I figured out it was because I was really pushing him to do all this because I didn't believe in myself enough to push me along. So, we're talking about that and more in today's podcast episode. In this episode you’ll hear: Why hoping your partner will be your accountability buddy isn't going to work. What to do if you're scared of out-growing your partner or you're scared they'll want to leave you. Questions you NEED to ask yourself about to get deeper into your personal development journey. Check out the detailed show notes for this week’s episode at MonicaFrederick.com/ep65 If you've decided that your self-improvement is worth the effort and investment of your time and you want to radically improve the way you see your career and your life, then I want to invite you to work with me one-on-one. We'd work together for six months to get you from feeling powerless and unfulfilled in your job and life and get to the real heart of what's actually in your way. By working together, you'll have a fool-proof strategy for making the life you daydream about to happen. Schedule a free strategy call with me to see how to make it happen for yourself.
Have you ever had an awesome idea, but you didn't tell anyone about it or take action because you were afraid of failing? You're not alone. I've been there too, but I'm changing my relationship with failure every day.  This didn't happen for me overnight. It took me years to figure this out on my own, and it's still something I work on consistently. But it's not just me, the bulk of the time I spend with my coaching clients is spent dismantling the fear of failure and redefining it. Since it is such a significant roadblock for many women I work with, I wanted to make an episode dedicated to it. After you dive into this episode, you'll know how to turn any failure into fuel so that you can bounce back quickly and not stay stuck in disappointment! If you're using it as fuel, then your fear of failure will start to evaporate. Hell, you may even start to think about failure and mistakes as a good thing. Let’s talk about a really sucky emotion: insignificance. You probably hear yourself talking about how there's no point in even trying to work on what's fulfilling. Maybe it's because of a lack of time or other circumstances, but I promise it's something deeper than that, which we'll get into today on the podcast. This episode will help you feel valuable and confident in yourself because you'll see how to start living your purpose TODAY, even if you're feeling insignificant. In this episode you’ll hear: How to get out of the “Why Bother?” mentality. Why avoiding feeling unfulfilled isn’t working. If the way you feel about yourself fluctuates as much as the stock market does, this episode is for you. Today we’ll talk about how your self-respect doesn’t need to come up or down when the account balance in your bank account does.
