After last weekend's extreme winds, loose unconsolidated snow has formed wind slabs throughout the avalanche terrain. Tuckerman Ravine and the rest of the Cutler River Drainage Area is officially closed as of April 2nd. We discuss what went into making this decision and why skirting this area to ski other zones in the backcountry is a bad idea. Local resorts also closed down access for uphilling.
