Tash Pillay loves ministering to kids, but, she says, a large portion of kids ministry is giving parents the tools and confidence to minister to their own kids during the 166 hours when they're not at church each week.
Tash is the Children's and Families Pastor at Rostrevor Baptist, and in 2021 became the Kids Ministry Facilitator at Baptist Churches SA.
Please note the audio isn't great on this ep - our apologies and we hope you enjoy listening anyway.

Listen as Scott Pilgrim shares of his favourite encounters with Jesus, from Luke 7. Jesus meets a woman who has lost her husband and son, has been pushed to the margins in her culture, and is beyond desperate. Jesus saw her when no one else did, and gave us a template of how to act in a broken world.
Scott's many years of experience as a local pastor and leader in the Australian Baptist movement have lead him to where he sits today, as the Executive Director of Baptist Mission Australia.

You would be hard-pressed to find an Aussie Baptist leader who hasn't heard the name 'Scott Pilgrim' at some point. Scott's many years of experience as a local pastor and leader in the Australian Baptist movement have lead him to where he sits today, as the Executive Director of Baptist Mission Australia.
Scott's passion for people to meet and follow Jesus in their own culture is palpable, and his pursuit of shalom and justice is poetic.
Next Wednesday we’ll be dropping Scott’s sermon episode, so make sure you’ve subscribed and stay tuned for more Movement!

“A real message of hope, but also a strong message about how we can live our lives in times of uncertainty, to make sure that we’re not just going with the flow, but holding fast to God, and also living in a way that shines his glory in our lives.”
If you’ve been associated with Baptist youth events over the past few years, chances are you’ve bumped into Mary Ackers. Now the Youth Ministry Facilitator here at BCSA, Mary has worked with young people in churches and schools for several years, is a member of Salisbury Baptist Church and loves a parkrun and good coffee.
Next Wednesday we’ll be back with another guest, so make sure you’ve subscribed and stay tuned for more Movement!
VERSE IN FOCUS
1 Peter 1:13 – 2:3 (ESV)
13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, 18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. 20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you 21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, 23 since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; 24 for
“All flesh is like grass
and all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
and the flower falls,
25 but the word of the Lord remains forever.”
And this word is the good news that was preached to you.
2 So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. 2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
