Where this movie falls in the Karate Kid series is up for debate but it does justice to the original story. Not a retelling, but a continuation in a way that honors the original and carries it further. Can the story move forward from here? Tragedies can define families in many different ways. This shows some of the ways that tragedies can do that. In doing so it discloses some horror stories of foster families as well as some occult content. This isn't a story for everyone at all, far from it actually... but there is an audience for this. They will see that there is something here that will draw some in. The classic story that we all know and love is reimagined in a live action format. Though it's not the exact same story, it does the story justice in a lot of ways.
