Movie Meltdown - Episode 663 The Meltdown Horror Club shows up just long enough to throw out a movie threat, which inadvertently leads to a polarizing question… what's your favorite mummy movie? And as our recorder dies and kills the rest of the episode, we instead address… Teeth and Blood, Rachel Weisz, the city's supply of donated blood, yetis, Hawaii Five-0 on Celebrity Family Feud, Lee Cronin, Brendan Fraser, rebooting the franchise, Tom Cruise, Candyman, Airheads, John Carpenter, Jeopardy, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, going undercover, rival vampire covens, and death is just the beginning.  "Isn't that the tagline for like… so many things?!"
Movie Meltdown - Episode 662 Join us for an epic Merrye family reunion… of sorts. This episode has been years in the making, as we visit a never before heard interview we did with the legendary Sid Haig! We not only get a blast from the past discussion with Sid about working on "Spider Baby", but we also recently sat down with Beverly Washburn to get her memories of the film as well as her take on the legacy this movie has had on her life and fans around the world. Then after the interviews with the stars of the film we settle in for a lengthy discussion on this horror classic and many of the reasons it not only still holds up today - but was also way ahead of its time.  And while we bust out our cheap, horror VHS tapes, we also mention… Pasadena Playhouse, horrible bastardized version of the nuclear family, having a passion for something, Zacherley, worldwide fanbase, House of 1000 Corpses, the creepy girl "type", self referential horror, Carnival of Souls, buy your alter ego a top hat, Ozzie and Harriet, you regress more until you just become an animal, Dusty Bluffs, upper class deviants, operating on instinct, unconditional love, Beetlejuice, handled in monster kid fashion, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, these kids today, Pit Stop, independent filmmaking, fighting their demons, going no contact with your family, Scream, the missing link of horror movies, Leave it to Beaver, completely unburdened by psychosis, professional playfulness, Wednesday Addams, cleaning up the sound, psychological warfare at the dinner table, the mummy movies, and it all started at Ralphs grocery.  Spoiler Alert: Full spoilers as we dig into the entirety of "Spider Baby" - so go watch the movie. "You know, I think I'm learning a lot about life… from Spider Baby."
Movie Meltdown - Episode 661 The Meltdown Horror Club vicariously travels to an uncharted Caribbean island to discuss Del Tenney's cult film I Eat Your Skin. And while we strap a GoPro to the cat, we also cover… Hokum, Widow's Bay, The Wretched, Send Help, Good Boy, Remarkably Bright Creatures, adventurer Karen, just keep dancing when your hair falls off, Ken Jennings and Alex Trebek, dubbing, bead-face and bikinis, Wild Kingdom, Sam Raimi, the fashion and attitudes of the 60s, eyeball zombies, knock-off James Bond movies, an SNL cast member, shoddily put together, I just brought my goat here to see the dancing, The Devil's Hand, the decapitation, a long sleeve sleeveless shirt, a die-related injury, trying to make Rachel McAdams a mess, swanky yet threatening, a closet full of zombies, snake milking, Betty Gilpin, a spooky Halloween baby, exotic languages and what are the geological implications of blowing up an island?  Spoiler Alert: Full spoilers for the 1971 movie "I Eat Your Skin" (aka "Zombies") ... so go watch the movie before you listen. "There is a considerable lack of skin eating, in a movie called - 'I Eat your Skin!".
