Description

Movies Over My Hammy is a comedy podcast that dares to ask the hard questions: Is the Batman Calzony better than The Batman? Would you like to sit down in a theater and watch Beetlejuice Beetlejuice or would you rather take a seat at a diner and order the Beetlejuicy Burger?

Each week Adam Quesnell and Andrew Santoro will answer the eternal marketing question, “Is the movie tie-in menu superior to the movie that it’s tied to?” And, in lieu of a tie in menu, how does this movie stack up to the Moons Over My Hammy sandwich from Denny’s?

Grinch socks. A quick Google search result turns up hundreds (if not thousands) of results for socks featuring the beloved holiday ne’er do well at numerous high and low price points. But these are not true Grinch socks. The real deal can only be found in a $15 meal alongside a baggy of pickle seasoning. These beautiful limited edition foot coverings come in 4 different colors and if you’re unable to secure all 4 what’s the purpose of life anyway? Wait, I’ve just exited what I can only describe as a fugue state. The walls of my podcasting cell are covered in delirious scrawlings about Grinch socks. What could this mean? I thought this was a food podcast or at least a movie podcast. Socks? SOCKS!? This week Adam and Andrew head to the King of movie tie in menus that are just a regular meal with one thing changed that loosely ties into the movie. That’s right we’re talking about McDonald’s and their extremely elusive Grinch meal!  It’s time to compare pickle salted fries and socks to the most timeless of Holiday movies, Halloween is Grinch Night! Just kidding, but not really. Andrew also takes some time to quiz Adam about his Christmas movie knowledge against some incomprehensible holiday menus. Sensational discoveries are made in the Burger of Kings! What is claimed to be the most sensational Egyptological discovery of the century is announced in a dispatch to your ears. A series of breaded cheese tubes have been consumed and compared to not only one but two films entitled The Mummy. One of these films is as timeless as the Great Pyramids, the other as rotten as a jar of scooped out guts and stuff.  Stare in marvel as Adam and Andrew manage to fill 2+ hours talking about mozzarella sticks! Grip your earbuds in anticipation as they try to come up with a better monster movie menu! And gasp in awe as Andrew reveals that he never received marinara sauce to accompany his food!  Oh, and before I forget, THANKS FOR BRINGING ME BACK TO LIFE! Did you know that there’s a restaurant called Jollibee where you can get a bucket of fried chicken called Chickenjoy and a plate of spaghetti called Jolly Spaghetti?  Did you know that there’s a global girl group called Katseye that was assembled through a competition and documented on a Netflix reality show with a new EP called Beautiful Chaos? Can you imagine what would happen if those two iconic brands were to work together? There’s no way! It would simply be too authentic and, dare I say it, GNARLY. Wait, you’re telling me that they did work together? And on a chicken sandwich no less. Siren Sounds ring out through Movies Over My Hammy Headquarters. Sounds like a great place to start the podcast! This week Adam and Andrew head to Jollibee to eat a chicken sandwich and judge it against the music of a burgeoning girl group. They also compare it to a Stephen King film from the 80’s called Cat’s Eye for some reason. And to close out the show, Andrew challenges Adam to a battle of wits in the first edition of Food or Faux: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Edition.
