In this episode I am talking about this notion of flexible working, which has only really been embraced by HR departments and businesses since the pandemic.  In many cases, companies are now adapting to the growing demand for flexibility in the workplace, but is this really a good thing for you, the employer?  In a recent poll, many people who work from home admit to working more hours than they would if they were in the office. Not only are you doing work for free, but you risk damaging your work-life balance and increasing the risk of burnout.  I am going to talk you through how you can approach flexible working with your employer, and how you can embed it successfully.  This series of Mums on Cloud Nine is all about how we can adapt our mindset to step into leadership roles, and in doing so break through the gender inequality which permeates the technology industry.  If you enjoyed this episode please follow, share and leave a review to help others find us.    Highlights from this episode:  (00:44) The Great Resignation  (04:38) What does flexibility mean to you?  (07:58) You are entitled to ask for flexible working  (11:50) How flexible working can go wrong  (14:18) Get clear on how you are spending your time  (17:01) You need the right support network    Find out more about how Supermums empowers women around the globe with training and recruitment services. Mentors can be such a valuable investment for anyone starting out in their career and needing support.  A great mentor can help you progress your career and build self-esteem.  They are someone you can bounce ideas off, validate your thoughts and seek assurance in your decision-making.  They can also help you prep for job interview and, if they do this successfully, they can even give you a great reference to help you get an offer.  Through this process as a mentee, you are supported to increase you awareness, deepen your learning, improve your performance and ultimately supported to achieve your goals.  On this episode of Mums on Cloud Nine, I'm talking about how to create a great relationship between a mentor and mentee, and it’s so important to buid a strong foundation so that your relationship is a successful one.  If you now think you could benefit from having a mentor, or perhaps you want to become a mentor yourself, Supermums have skilled mentors with training and coaching skills to make sure that they have these foundations in place.    Highlights from this episode:  (00:44) The value of a mentor  (02:52) The traits of a successful mentor  (06:31) How to build a foundation you can both work from  (10:48) The difference between a mentor and a coach  (13:59) We’re all human  (17:06) Create mentor records    Find out more about how Supermums empowers women around the globe with training and recruitment services. The gender pay gap remains a real problem in the workplace. Though many companies are being more transparent and sharing data in order to consciously tackle this, many women still shy away from asking for the salary they deserve.  It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy: if you don’t ask for as much, you won’t get as much, and we need to change this.  In this episode of Mums on Cloud Nine we’re joined by Anamika Yadav, a Salesforce Transformation Consultant who is no stranger to a pay rise. In her three years with Salesforce she has been promoted four times.  Anamika shares her story and offers advice to women, not just in Salesforce but in all industries, so that you have the confidence and the tools to expect the pay you deserve.    Highlights from this episode:  (01:50) We shy away from talking about money  (03:52) Build a business case for your promotion  (07:44) The gaps between promotions get bigger with seniority  (12:30) How to develop the skillset you need  (15:04) Common blockers to your promotion  (18:46) The benefits of a Brag Journal  (24:06) Anamika’s top three tips    Find out more about how Supermums empowers women around the globe with training and recruitment services. Has a powerful speech ever given you goosebumps, or better still, moved you to tears?  What about a great one-liner that has you chuckling for days?  Words are powerful, and knowing how to construct a great story to convey the right message, in the right way, to the right people, is an art that few leaders care to master. Those who do can command a crowd, influence a room of decision-makers, or just sell the benefits of a new piece of tech to a room of sceptical employees.  On this episode of Mums on Cloud Nine I'm delighted to be joined by Tristan Lombard, the Director of Community at Provar Testing, to talk about the power of storytelling as a leader.  He provides expert insight and practical tips to help you improve your own storytelling skills, so that you can be a more effective leader, project manager and Salesforce admin.    Highlights from this episode:  (01:31) Helping people steward their own stories  (08:09) How to connect with your audience  (11:12) Language is everything  (15:07) Failure is over-romanticised  (24:08) Build your own stage    Find out more about how Supermums empowers women around the globe with training and recruitment services. On this episode of Mums on Cloud Nine I am joined by two special guests to discuss the important topic of leadership skills as a Salesforce admin.  David Giller is the Founder & CEO of Brainiate – a Salesforce training and consultancy firm. He also has a weekly live YouTube show to help people develop their leadership skills as a Salesforce profesisonal.  Jodi Hrbek is a Salesforce expert with over 20 years experience as a consultant and director. She is also the author of Rock your Role as a Salesforce Admin, which you can buy now.  A Salesforce admin is not a senior leadership role, and if you’re already a Salesforce admin you probably wouldn’t consider yourself a leader. But actually what you have to do is lead and influence a team of people to adopt new technology, new processes, and new ways of working, so in many ways it is a lot like being in a leadership role.  As a Salesforce admin, you should be thinking about those qualities and skills right from the outset so that you can build effective relationships across the business.  We are going to help you do that in this episode, so that you can step into your own power.    Highlights from this episode:  (02:21) Introductions  (06:17) The traits of a leader  (20:42) Leveraging your communication skills  (27:55) Not everybody will listen to you  (33:06) Guiding towards the right solution  (38:27) The Salesforce admin conundrum    Find out more about how Supermums empowers women around the globe with training and recruitment services. I'm delighted to have Carla Bolton-Marsh join me on the show. Carla is a Global Account Director at Salesforce, but also a Business and Leadership Coach, and she's been busy working with some of our super mums one to one.    We talk about how to overcome your fears because that's one of the things that many of our trainees face when they're thinking about starting out in a new career. It can feel very scary to change direction or even to go for a promotion because quite often you don't know if the grass is greener or not and so in this episode, we're going to be talking about how to overcome those fears, how to think about them logically and how to help move forward so you're no longer stuck in the rut.   Here are the highlights from this episode:   {2:11} How Carla started as a coach {3:22} How Carla faced her fears and moved forward {7:47} Building confidence after maternity leave {9:21} Dealing with the fear of not feeling good enough {14:21} Using your spare time to learn {15:52} The value of coaching to move you past limiting beliefs   Find out more about how Supermums empowers women around the globe with training and recruitment services.
