About hosts:
Shayan is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for leveraging technology and design for social innovation. His career began in the early days of the Internet, where he was instrumental in building the first ISPs and Internet nodes. Over the past two decades, he has navigated various information technology waves, including web applications, mobile apps, platforms, and AI. Shayan has founded six startups, three in AI, and has delivered over 50 projects and products in several countries, working across diverse cultures from the Middle East to Canada, the US, Africa, and Asia. In recent years, Shayan has focused on AI and machine learning to personalize experiences in various industries, including security, privacy, health, and education. He is researching and publishing about Trustworthy AI, specially in the domain of healthcare. Shayan excels at assembling high-performing teams to solve wicked problems. As his LinkedIn title suggests, he is a Chief Glue Officer who orchestrates brilliance by connecting witted minds.
Akifa is a distinguished healthcare attorney with a Master’s in Health Administration from Cornell University and a Master of Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University. She is the founder of Qodiva Vitamins and co-founder of Her Health AI, an organization dedicated to revolutionizing women’s health, particularly in diagnosing and treating endometriosis using AI technology. Her work is pivotal in addressing the global challenge of undiagnosed endometriosis, which affects millions of women worldwide. In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Khattak is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and the American Health Lawyers Association. She has authored numerous articles advocating for women’s health and digital health innovations. Her leadership in these fields has been recognized through various awards, including winning the Johnson & Johnson startup competition at HLTH 2024.
