Description
At My Depression's Got Jokes, Joi Donaldson & Montrell White are two black millennials doing the work of disarming the ashiness of mental illness through humor. They explore what makes us laugh when our brains go sad and what it looks like for people of color to overcome with mental illness. We can be dope with depression. Amazing with anxiety. Bomb with bipolar disorder. Our mental illnesses do not define us.

Somebody Get the Eye of Ra! This week we chat about the woke on woke crime that transpired between Shaun King and Deray McKesson, how "wokeness" is an overbloated term, how to not be trash to trans people and why you should leave folk alone whilst they traipse about this hellscape of a planet.

Episode 40! This episode we sit down with Dei Johnson: photographer, illustrator and, just added to the list, accomplished author of the self-care journal Give Yourself Grace.
And she's Joi's cousin. Creativity runs in the family.
We ask her about her journey to this moment, how she gives herself grace and what's on the horizon.

Montrell did the noble work of bingeing the entire Game of Thrones series ahead of the season premiere on 4/14/19. Spoiler alert right out the gate so if you're one attempting to watch the old episodes, skip the first 30 mins.
