The second half or 2025 seems to be heating up after a relatively lackluster start.  This week, we cover the long awaited film adaptation of THE LONG WALK, the hard-hitting novella that Stephen King published as one of the infamous Richard Bachman stories. In 1996, Chuck Parello wrote and directed a sequel to John McNaughton’s brutal, yet oddly haunting exploration of a day in the life of two serial murderers loosely based on Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole. H.G. Wells WAR OF THE WORLDS is one of those works that seems to be woven into the fabric of popular culture. The novel was published in 1898 and for over a hundred years, it has come back to us in some shape or form.  The first being the infamous Orsen Welles radio broadcast in 1938 that led to mass hysteria that sparked a debate about the power and responsibility of the media.  1953 brough the first film adaptation directed by Byron Haskins and in 2005 Stephen Spielberg tried his hand at the tale.  There have been several more movie adaptations and the seasons of the UK series based on it.   In 2025, do we need another attempt at telling this story?  Listen to the Necromaniacs and find out!   Intro:    “Necromaniacs” – Mike Hill Outro: “”– Flock of Seagulls

The dog days of summer are upon us so we figured that we’d give you another episode about a shark terrorizing helpless swimmers at the sleepy New England town of Amity.  Directoe Jeannot Szwarc picks up the storyline of Spielberg’s classic with the aptly titled JAWS 2.
