This special edition of NSR BlogTalk Radio is geared toward high school athletes and their parents.  National Signing Day for football and soccer was earlier this month.  Hundreds and thousands of high school athletes were hoping for the opportunity to sign and play their sport in college.  Unfortunately, less than 5% of the high school athletes realized their dream and less than 1% realized that dream by signing at a NCAA D1 school.  Join Coach Robert Cagle as he navigates the listeners through the "do's and dont's" of college recruiting in this special 15 minute segment.

Ryan Johnston will join the show today.  Ryan is no newcomer to sports.  He has been a lifelong athlete.  He played his college ball at the University of Tennessee Martin. Ryan serves as the Volleyball Director for NSR and he is the Area Director in all sports for northern Arizona and New Mexico.  Ryan has been helping high school athletes obtain athletic and academic scholarships for quite some time.  Ryan has a close working relationship with college coaches all over the country. Kari Chavez will also be joining our show today.  Kari Chavez coached 7 seasons at Gonzaga University. She previously worked as a student-assistant coach at Central Washington University. Kari spent one season as an assistant coach at CWU after a successful playing career for the Wildcats. As a player at CWU,  Kari was the Wildcats starting setter. She was named to the All-GNAC first team. Chavez finished her playing career as the school record holder in assists per game (11.65) and aces per game. Prior to attending CWU, Chavez played one season at Yakima Community College and named All Region and named a second team junior college All-American at YCC.  Kari now serves as the Area Director for NSR in Eastern Washington.  Kari continues to coach club volleyball and she contniues to help NSR athletes! http://nsr-inc.com/how-to-get-recruited-volleyball/to-be-recruited-or-not-be-recruited-volleyball-magazine.php

This NSR BlogTalk episode will feature questions and answers concerning the college recruiting process for high school football athletes hoping to play in college.  The EXPERTS from National Scouting Report will be talking about the facts concerning recruiting. Today, Santo Stephens serves as the Area Scouting Director for NSR in South Georgia.  Santo talks with college coaches on a regular basis and scouts high school athletes on a daily basis.  Santo helps athletes find the best scholarship opportunities that meet the athlete's athletic ability and academic interests. Santa played his college career at Temple University and then played in the NFL.  He played with the Bengals, Jaguars and the Chiefs. Larry Perrin joins the show today and he serves as the Director of Football Scouting for NSR. Larry talks with college coaches on a daily basis and has assisted hundreds of athletes over the years.  Larry also serves as the Area Director for West Tennesee and North Mississippi and Arkansas for football. Larry played his college ball at Henderson State then was signed as a free agent into the USFL. Coach Robert Cagle is the regular host for NSR's BlogTalk radio.  Coach Cagle has been helping athletes for many years and he has ties to many of the college programs all over the country. Coach Cagle was a USA Today Top 10 Big Man in 1985. He played his college ball at Ole Miss.  After his playing career, Coach Cagle served on the recruiting staff.  He also coached high school football for many years,  #NSRnow

Gil Barkey is the Soccer Scouting Director for the western United States. Gil has a wealth of playing and coaching experience since his early days growing up in Argentina. His passion for helping players successfully transition from high school to college soccer is a direct response to his own college playing experience and all that soccer has provided his life. Gil continues to coach, consult, and mentor competitive club soccer players in his home state of Colorado. Gil loves the personal approach of NSR through daily interactions with college soccer coaches and college bound soccer prospects. Soccer runs through Gil's veins and carried across to his own two soccer playing daughters and the greatest soccer mom and wife of twenty years, Becky Daniel Gurtov has been coaching in South Florida for the past fifteen years. He has won multiple county championships in both soccer and flag football. He also serves as a commissioner with the City of Plantation for flag football. As an educator and coach he has mentored NFL player James White and several current NCAA D1 players in both football and women's soccer. Daniel currently is a club soccer coach for Sunrise SC out of Sunrise, Florida, which is the top womens program in South Florida. He also serves as their National Recruiting Coordinator and assists all their current players in the recruiting process. Daniel has been working with prospects for the past 3 years with NSR. Daniel has been a teacher for fifteen years and is married with 3 children.   #NSRsoccer

NSR has been helping high school athletes obtain athletic and academic scholarships for over 35 years.  College coaches from all over the United States depend on NSR for accurate and dependable scouting reports on qualified student athletes. Rusty Rigney joins our show today as one of the recruiting experts for sotball!  What makes Rusty an expert in softball recruiting?  First, Rusty has coached travel ball for many years.  He has "sat on the bucket" for countless hours giving instruction to pitchers.  Rusty has a daughter, Rachael, who is currently pitching at D1 Troy University.  If those two facts alone are not enough, well. Rusty is the long time President and CEO of National Scouting Report.  NSR is the world's oldest and largest scouting and recruiting organization.  Rusty's father, Bob Rigney, founded NSR in 1980. Robby Wilson is also an expert guest today.  He is the Director of Softball Scouting for National Scouting Report. Robby has a B.S. in Exercise Science and has been a certified strength and conditioning specialist working with High School and College athletes for 10 years. As a previous college athlete and high school standout Robby endured the recruiting process himself and has seen firsthand, the changes over the years. As the Director of Softball, Robby works with College Coaches, high school/club athletes, as well as high school and travel coaches on a daily basis in pursuit of getting the athlete the right exposure and promoting those athletes to collegiate athletic programs for them to continue the love for their sport while getting a quality education.
National Scouting Report is the world's oldest, largest and most respected scouting and recruiting organization.  NSR has been assisting high school athletes obtain college scholarships for 35 years.  Tanya Olson competed in softball, basketball and golf. Although she competed nationally in softball at the age of 10, it was golf that ultimately became her passion. After winning 4 regional state titles and a state championship, she became Miss Kentucky Golf and earned a 4 year full scholarship to the University of South Florida. After graduating, Tanya remained in the golf world. She landed in the Chicago suburbs as Marketing Director at Naperville Country Club for the next 8 years.  She has also coached at the collegiate level. Tanya is a two time participant of the Women's USGA Amateur, as well as a 4 time participant in the Women's USGA Mid Amateur. Due to her continued participation in national events, she is still very much in tune with the dedication and determination required to be a successful athlete. Tanya serves as the Golf Recruiting Specialist for National Scouting Report. Trey Miller is no stranger to the golf world!  After serving in the Marine Corp, Trey was a touring golf professional.  He participated in the Golden Bear Tour, Hooter's Tour, Tight Lies Tour, Lone Star Tour, and the King Stahlman Tour.  He was a Tournament Champion during this time.  Trey also served as a Club Pro in Texas and in Arkansas.  He currently continues to serve as the Head Golf Professional in Heber Springs, Arkansas while serving as one of the Golf Recruiting Specialists for National Scouting Report.   Tanya and Trey are dedicated to helping golf athletes obtain scholarships! www.nsr-inc.com/golf
