Description
This podcast series is intended to take you on a journey to each of the world's many fascinating and diverse nations. In each episode you will learn factual points as well as many details that make each nation unique.
Each episode will include four segments. The first one - Bare Bones - will include the basics such as the country's capital, it's form of government, languages, religions, and more. The second one - Heart of the Nation - is where we go more in depth into the geography, wildlife, history, family life, education, arts and culture, imports and exports, to name a few. The third one - Who is? will discuss a few of the notable people from this country. The fourth one - (my favourite) Who Would've Thought? - where detailed unique facts about a country are presented.
You will hear no debates, no political slants, and no personal opinions. You will get just the facts.
Gaining knowledge about other people and their culture is often the best way to understand who they are and why they do things a certain way. This, in turn, can make us less fearful of differences and hopefully more accepting.

The Danish people are known for their hygge lifestyle, which emphasizes coziness, comfort, and enjoying simple pleasures. Cycling is not only a practical mode of transportation but also a way of life in Denmark, promoting health, sustainability, and a sense of community. Denmark is renowned for its cycling infrastructure and bicycle-friendly cities. Denmark’s concern for its citizens is clearly seen with its comprehensive welfare system, providing a high standard of living and social security to its citizens. But its concern for people across the globe is seen as it is recognized as a global leader in sustainability and renewable energy.· 00:00 – Intro · 00:27 – Bare Bones· 03:27 – Heart of the Nation· 01:08:33 – Who Is?· 01:11:35 – Who Would’ve Thought?Find Nations of the World Podcast:Email now-podcast@heartsgroup.orgWebsite https://nationsoftheworldpodcast.comSupport Me https://buymeacoffee.com/LoisEvelyn
The world’s largest ancient castle is in the capital city, Prague, equal in size to about 7 football fields. Prague is known as the “City of a Hundred Spires” due to its breathtaking Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture. The country has the highest per capita beer consumption in the world; maybe they can blame that on the fact that this is where Pilsner beer originated. It’s home to the oldest functioning astronomical clock in the world displaying Babylonian time, Old Bohemian time, German time, and Sidereal time. Mineral springs are the focus of many quaint spa towns and the deepest freshwater cave in the world, at 1 km or .62 miles deep, is in the eastern part of the country.· 03:38 – Intro · 04:56 – Bare Bones· 06:11 – Heart of the Nation· 01:19:50 – Who Is?· 01:26:06 – Who Would’ve Thought?Find Nations of the World Podcast:Email now-podcast@heartsgroup.orgWebsite https://nationsoftheworldpodcast.comSupport Me https://buymeacoffee.com/LoisEvelyn
Legend has it that Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, was born in Cyprus. She is said to have emerged from a rock at Aphrodite’s beach. Today, people watch the ocean waves crash over this rock as they form pillars of foam said to resemble the goddess of love. It is also called the playground of the Gods. The unity of this island nation is lacking as there is a division between the Greek and the Turkish citizens.· 00:00 – Intro · 00:59 – Bare Bones· 03:45 – Heart of the Nation· 01:23:59 – Who Is?· 01:30:55 – Who Would’ve Thought?Find Nations of the World Podcast:Email now-podcast@heartsgroup.orgWebsite https://nationsoftheworldpodcast.comSupport Me https://buymeacoffee.com/LoisEvelyn
Cuba was the Spanish empire’s most important source of raw sugar in the 18th century. Today it is said to produce the finest cigars in the world. Bacardi Rum originally was made in Cuba, but when Fidel Castro came into office, its production was moved to Puerto Rico. It’s also known for having the most enduring trade embargo imposed on any country in history, this by the United States.· 00:00 – Intro · 00:55 – Bare Bones· 02:45 – Heart of the Nation· 01:12:38 – Who Is?· 01:18:42 – Who Would’ve Thought?Find Nations of the World Podcast:Email now-podcast@heartsgroup.orgWebsite https://nationsoftheworldpodcast.comSupport Me https://buymeacoffee.com/LoisEvelyn
Croatia is a country full of amazing architecture representing several periods, such as Renaissance, Gothic, Baroque, and Roman. It has one of the 6 largest Roman amphitheatres in existence today and it is still used for many events, seating 23,000 spectators. There’s a breath-taking coastline on the Adriatic Sea. This country is the largest supplier of cocoa beans worldwide. It also has a coastline rich in tropical fish, coral reefs, sharks, and sea-bed creatures including the loggerhead turtle, which is found nesting and foraging on the shores. To protect these creatures, the country has taken the lead in declaring its first protected marine area. This is a move rarely seen in African nations and may help to set the standard in the region. · 00:00 – Intro · 02:21 – Bare Bones· 03:34 – Heart of the Nation· 59:20 – Who Is?· 01:02:33 – Who Would’ve Thought?Find Nations of the World Podcast:Email now-podcast@heartsgroup.orgWebsite https://nationsoftheworldpodcast.comSupport Me https://buymeacoffee.com/LoisEvelyn
The Congo Basin rainforest is the second largest rainforest in the world. Conservation of these tropical rainforests is vital to the global climate. Republic of the Congo has one of the largest areas of tropical peatlands, a fragile ecosystem which removes carbon from the atmosphere and stores it. This helps to slow global warming. It is the 3rd largest producer of oil in Sub Sahara Africa and is rich in mineral resources that are largely untapped. · 00:00 – Intro · 01:04 – Bare Bones· 02:34 – Heart of the Nation· 00:41:25 – Who Is?· 00:43:58 – Who Would’ve Thought?Find Nations of the World Podcast:Email now-podcast@heartsgroup.orgWebsite https://nationsoftheworldpodcast.comSupport Me https://buymeacoffee.com/LoisEvelyn

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is a country with the natural resources to be one of the world’s richest countries but is among the world’s 5 poorest. It has nearly half of the world’s cobalt supply, used in producing lithium-ion batteries that drive electric vehicles. Because of this DR Congo has been called “the Saudi Arabia of the electric vehicle age.” Unfortunately, political violence has overshadowed its history for decades and has had in operation since 1999 the largest and most expensive UN peacekeeping mission in the world.· 00:00 – Intro · 01:08 – Bare Bones· 02:54 – Heart of the Nation· 01:23:03 – Who Is?· 01:29:24 – Who Would’ve Thought?Find Nations of the World Podcast:Email now-podcast@heartsgroup.orgWebsite https://nationsoftheworldpodcast.comSupport Me https://buymeacoffee.com/LoisEvelyn
