She holds nothing back and our hosts speculate her criticism of Biden will NOT be taken lightly by the establishment.      Trump has not explicitly said that he’s going to run for a third term, in violation of the 22nd amendment. However, his team is selling “Trump ‘28” hats, and he hasn’t ruled it out. Knowing Trump, why aren’t those in power taking this possibility more seriously?    Israel tried to kill Hamas leaders in Doha, Qatar (a close U.S. ally) while those leaders were meeting to discuss a proposed Gaza ceasefire, eliminating the possibility for peace. Meanwhile, the U.S. military blows up a boat in the Caribbean that the Trump administration claimed was running drugs without providing evidence. These extrajudicial killings undermine international law and American prestige.    This is not the first time Israel has sabotaged U.S.-led negotiations with airstrikes, eliminating the possibility for peace and straining U.S. relationships with its Mid-East allies.     And of course we’ll hear from you! Democrats have said that the government is complicit in Epstein’s crimes and that the blame goes “all the way to the top.” They have support from across the aisle in a rare moment of bi-partisanship.    D.C.’s Mayor Muriel Bowser has had a change of heart when it comes to Trump’s occupation of the nation’s capital. She issued an executive order welcoming the federal troops and agents patrolling the streets to stay LONGER! Among other baffling details, the Mayor’s order calls for a “Safe and Beautiful Emergency Operations Center.”    Rapper Cardi B kept it classy when the judge read the “not guilty” verdict in the civil lawsuit brought against her by a former security guard. On episode 93 of Native Land Pod, hosts Tiffany Cross, Angela Rye, and Andrew Gillum are forced to remind all of us that slavery was, in fact, bad.    Fitness trainer and TV personality Jillian Michaels was on Abby Phillip’s CNN show recently making some wild claims about how slavery wasn’t that bad, wasn’t just committed by white people, and wasn’t actually that big of a part of the country’s founding because “only 2%” of Americans owned slaves… We have so many questions y’all–like why this person with no journalism or history experience featured on a CNN panel–but first we have to address some of her specific claims and misleading “facts.” We’ll hear from Nikole Hannah-Jones herself (the creator of the 1619 project).     Our guest, Sherrilyn Ifill, gives American democracy a “D.” But, she says, our problems started long before Trump. She joins the NLP hosts to identify the weak points of our democracy and what building blocks might remain in a post-Trump era. Then, a deep dive into how integration led to the draining of public funds, and whether or not the courts will hold as a co-equal branch of government. Angela Rye is joined by Texas State Representative Nicole Collier LIVE from the state house floor.    The Texas House Speaker has directed state troopers to follow Democratic representatives, the ones who fled the state to quash a vote on redistricting earlier this month, until they vote on new electoral maps later this week. For refusing this Republican surveillance, Rep Collier has been detained on the house floor, where she’s been told she must remain until the vote is held, or she accepts police escort.
