Join my special guest, Travis Suit, as we discuss being Bold in the Face of Fear. Travis has created a non-profit organization called Piper's Angels which helps the Cystic Fibrosis Warrior community both locally and globally. Motivated by the strength of his daughter Piper, Travis Suit built Piper’s Angels to improve the lives of patients and empower their family members. The traumatic experience of his child’s diagnosis with a terminal illness launched him into action to build an organization driven by passion, purpose and love. Piper’s Angels found its wings with the Crossing For Cystic Fibrosis. Travis learned that saltwater therapy helps those with cystic fibrosis, therefore he created an 80-mile paddle boarding event to spread awareness, raise money, and enrich the lives of those affected by cystic fibrosis. The Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis is an epic adventure that brings support to the CF community while building an ocean crossing tribe of stoked and focussed participants. This podcast is being released on November 25th, 2020 in conjunction with WarPaint Wednesday! Why Warpaint Wednesday? We recognize the battles that CF brings to a person’s everyday life from the day they are born. We call these people Warriors. And to honor them in their fight, we show solidarity by wearing purple warpaint on one very special day each year, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (in the US).  It’s a global day of activism and giving for the CF community fueled by the power of social media and community collaboration via a virtual and local campaign. Please help support the CF community by making a donation today. Click here to support.
Join David Keil for a fascinating conversation about Yoga and Anatomy. In this episode we discuss anatomy in relation to the Ashtanga Yoga practice. David Keil was introduced to yoga in 1989 by his Tai Chi Chuan teacher. Both the Tai Chi and Yoga practice at the ripe age of 17 began his research into his own mind-body connections. His search continued through massage therapy where he discovered many insights and affirmations of what he had been exploring and finding on his own through his practices. As an instructor of Kinesiology (the study of movement and musculoskeletal anatomy) at Miami’s Educating Hands School of Massage from 1999-2003, David developed a fun, informal and informative style of teaching. David was introduced to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in 1999. But it was in 2001 that he met John Scott in Penzance, UK, presenting his anatomy workshops for the first time overseas. It was also John who told David to go to Mysore, India the following year, which he did. David arrived in Mysore in 2002 where he studied with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in the “old” shala. In fact, it was the last year that the old shala was used for practice. David was authorized in 2004 and returned yearly for extended visits to Mysore with his wife Gretchen Suarez. They are both Authorized Level 2 and grateful for their time in Mysore, meeting Patabhi Jois and studying with R. Sharath, his grandson, over the years. All of David Keil's offerings are here - book, Functional Anatomy of Yoga is here- those that want to learn their muscles visit -

Join the author of Thai Acupressure, Noam Tyroler, for a discussion about the Magic of Thai Acupressure for Health. Noam is located in Israel and I was fortunate enough to have this discussion with him through zoom. I had been searching for several years for a comprehensive book detailing the acupressure and energy line work of traditional Thai Massage. I was thrilled to find this book 10 years ago and find it is invaluable for those that practice this ancient art. Join us for a discussion about the history of Thai Massage and why is practical, useful and beneficial in our modern era.Read Noam's bio here:In 1989, I took my first Thai massage course in the school of the Old Medicine Hospital in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. After several years of training, including five additional courses in Thailand, I became a Thai massage practitioner in 1992.Three years later, I opened the Thai massage department at the Reidman International College. This is the largest college for holistic medicine in Israel and with 8,000 students, it’s probably one of the largest in the world.Since 1998, I also teach Thai acupressure and have trained hundreds of students in this Thai art. For many years, I have been searching for a book on the lines and points formulas of medical Thai massage. I could not find such a book, and finally decided to write one on my own.I worked full time for two wonderful years writing this book. Writing a course textbook based on an ancient oral teaching is an exciting challenge.I have established the School in 2008 in order to publish the book and future study materials. It’s translated already to Spanish, French, German, Turkish, Russian, Mandarin and Japanese. I plan to translate it also to Hebrew and Arabic.I have also created a comprehensive 100 hours video guide and published a second book – Yoga Massage for Pregnancy, Labor and Postpartum. I plan to also release (hopefully in 2020) a Video Guide to Prenatal Yoga Massage.Additional complementary study materials are needed and will hopefully be created in the few next coming years. I hope to make the Medical Massage of Thailand accessible to practitioners of Thai Massage and of any method of manual therapy. I am based in Metula, a small town in Northern end of Israel on our border with Lebanon.Below are some links that you can access some of Noam's work.1. The shoulder chapter (PDF) from the book: The video guide page on the website - The elbow chapter is free The home distance learning program page - People who purchase the book and video guides ($380),can also get my personal supervision ($320).So it's a $700 distance learning course. From my book -"Yoga massage for pregnancy" - the Pregnancy heartburn treatment protocol: From the introduction to my book -"Yoga massage for pregnancy" - What are the "prohibited points"?“Prohibited”-Points.pdf
