Description

The Nature Practice podcast is a guided journey that helps you shift from 𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 to nature… to 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 with her.

Each short episode invites you into a simple practice you can do right outside your door — a way to take a “soulful sip” of nature, offer your presence in return and allow your natural peace to re-emerge.

Hosted by, me, Natasha Deganello Giraudie — filmmaker, student of Himalayan traditions, lifelong learner of Indigenous wisdom, and creator of the Nature Practice method — this podcast weaves together nearly a decade of guiding hundreds of Earth lovers in retreats, workshops, online programs, and a class at Stanford.

Here, you’ll explore how to shift:
• from experiencing peace only when the stars align → to allowing your natural peace to re-emerge
• from visiting nature as a temple → to staying present for the ceremony of life as it quietly unfolds in your everyday world
• from loving the Earth → to consciously deepening your relationship with her

I offer nature practice to you. And to the sea turtle so that she may carry it to the shores of the seven seas and help weave our collective hearts back into the heart of the Earth.

There are many ways to deepen this vital relationship, but I’ve found that six practices form a particularly reliable foundation. These are the core of the Nature Practice method. ···─···─ ·𖥸· ─···─··· 💙 If ...

In this first week, you’re invited to shift from simply spending time outdoors to entering a deeper, more intentional friendship with the living world. Through the practice of Outdoor Switches, you’ll begin setting the stage for true communion — a subtle yet powerful returning that opens your senses, softens old habits of estrangement, and reawakens your natural peace. You may start to feel how even the smallest choices can become gestures of reverence, quietly transforming familiar spaces in...
In this episode, you’re invited to slow down and set the tone for your six-week journey — through intention, ritual, and the intimacy of listening with the Earth. Together we explore the foundational qualities of Nature Practice: awareness, insight, stillness, and the ancient bond we are remembering as we return to a sacred, reciprocal relationship with the living world. You’ll be guided to step outside, attune to the environment around you, and create space for your own intention to emerge —...
We often think that to deepen our relationship with the Earth, we need to leave our lives behind and retreat to the mountains—but what if the connection we’re longing for could happen right in the middle of our workday? In this episode, we continue to unfold the soulful qualities that define nature practice, while exploring Outdoor Switches: a simple, deceivingly powerful way to invite the breeze, the birds, and the sunlight back into your daily rhythm. Instead of escaping to nature, we learn...
Do you remember the secret sanctuaries of your childhood? Today, we return to "Frog Church" to reclaim the truth that enjoyment leads us back to the Earth. We dive into the wisdom of the hummingbird: taking small, frequent sips of the divine. Today the invitation is to stop striving for a perfect practice and simply invite the wind, the light, and the sacred back into the intimacy of your everyday life. ···─···─ ·𖥸· ─···─··· 💙 If you love the podcast, please leave a rating on the show ...
We often feel a subtle restlessness. A sense that we can leave at any time, never fully committing to the land beneath us. But you cannot deepen your relationship with a place you are ready to abandon. Today, we bridge the biology of safety with the sacred practice of Rematriation. From the measurable calm your nervous system finds in the forest to the Dalai Lama’s ritual of humility, this is an invitation to finally take your second foot off the boat, as Robin Wall Kimmerer puts it.&nb...

105 • Within Her

2025-12-2403:26

Many of us live with a subtle sense of separation—walking on the land, looking at the sky, feeling exposed to the elements. But today, we shift the perspective. We explore the biological and spiritual reality that we live within the Earth—nestled beneath the arc of her atmosphere, breathing her breath, and held inside her membrane like a child in a womb. Through the poem "Within Her," this episode invites you to feel the air touching your skin not as empty space, but as the body of the Earth ...
"We shall be known by the company we keep." Today, we bridge the gap between self-care and community care, exploring how your time in nature supports you in your service to the world. Drawing on the poetry of MaMuse and the physics of sound science (the Tomatis Effect), we discover how listening to the wild literally tunes your voice and your presence. This episode is an invitation to consciously offer the peace you’ve found. To become the medicine—bringing the calm of the Oak and the f...
Celebration is our practice today. We close our first week by engaging the "Immeasurable" practice of Mudita (Sympathetic Joy). We gather around the fire to witness the profound shifts happening in our community—from reclaiming time for ourselves to remembering our true identity alongside the trees. Using a simple storytelling framework I learned from the memoirist Joyce Maynard ("I used to... but now I..."), we validate that by deepening your relationship with the Earth, you are literally pr...
To stand strong in life's storms, you need to know what holds you. Week 1, was a Return to Communion. Now, we shift our energy toward Rooting. We explore the invisible network of support that has always been beneath your feet: the people, the landscapes, and the poetry that have fed your wildness. This week is an invitation to remember that you are not a solitary seed blowing in the wind; you are part of a deep, ancient root system. ···─···─ ·𖥸· ─···─··· 💙 If you love the podcast, plea...
When we feel overwhelmed by the state of the world, it is easy to feel like we are doing this all alone. But the truth is, you are backed by a mountain range of ancestors, teachers, and guides. Today, we sit with the wisdom of Dr. Maya Angelou, who reminds us that we never enter a room—or a storm—by ourselves. We bring everyone who has ever been kind to us. This episode is a practice in mapping your own Roots and gathering your own "Bouquet of Rainbows"—calling in the grandmothers, the author...
When we think of lineage, we usually think of people. But what about the places that raised you? Today, we expand our definition to include the landscapes, the waters, and the animals that have held you. From a magical encounter with a pink river dolphin in the Orinoco Delta to the science of nervous system regulation, we explore why your body craves contact with the ground. This episode introduces the practice of "Skin to Skin" — remembering that before you belonged to anyone else, you belon...
Today, we explore the Artistic Lineage that supports your connection to the Earth—from the songs of Abuela Margarita to the films that help remind us of who we are. We explore art as a bridge to nature and we look at the new research in neuroaesthetics which shows that a profound poem or a resonant painting can light up the same "awe" centers in the brain as an inspiring landscape. This episode is an invitation to curate your own "playlist of belonging" and to remember that even if you don't ...
After spending this week honoring the people, places and poetry that supported your love of nature, today we turn the lens to your branches — the ways you shelter, nurture, and transmit a love of nature to the world around you. We explore the three spheres of influence. This episode is an invitation to see yourself as a nature lover and as a Future Ancestor. Whether through a quiet family ritual or a public act of leadership, you are reweaving the memory of connection for children who h...
Presence is the sensation of occupying your full essence, with ease and beauty. When we consciously ground into our lineage, we activate what is called the "Ancestor Effect," a resource that stabilizes the nervous system and allows us to stand more confidently. In this episode, we apply the yogic physics of "Root to Rise" to experience this stability in the body. By letting the gravity of your lineage lift you, you become a living bridge between the past and the future — allowing the stream o...
