Today, we sat down with Dr. Ndidiamaka Amutah-Onukagha, Principal Investigator and Director of the MOTHER Lab (Maternal Outcomes for Translational Health Equity Research), and Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine, to discuss her research in black maternal health disparities and the explicit racism that leads to these disparities. We also chat with Brenna Miller, Kelechi Offor and Keri Carvalho from the MOTHER Lab. Then close with how partners can support, uplift, and play a role in protecting and addressing these disparities as well as how women can advocate for themselves.

Today, we caught up with MLB All-Star and World Baseball Classic Champion, Adam Jones. Adam is back from Japan, where he currently plays for the Orix Buffaloes of the Nippon Professional Baseball League. He is also a member of the Players Alliance, a group of baseball players united to create “increased opportunities for the Black community in every aspect of the game and beyond.” Adam shares his perspective on Black Lives Matter, including the protest in Japan he was a part of. He also tells us what role he might plan on Team USA during the Summer '21 Olympics, which happen to be in Japan.
