Today, we examine the calling of a despised man called Matthew. He is a tax-collector, which means he is Jewish but working for the Romans. And so he is a hated man. AND THEN Jesus calls him to follow Him. That could be trouble in the ranks of Jewish disciples right there. But here is what I want to focus on today. This one man, Matthew, upon being called by Jesus to follow instantly, sets up a dinner for Jesus and invites all his sinner friends. I think there is a message there, and the message is this: It all begins with YOU. When you become a Christian, you turn around and try to bring your friends and family to Jesus. Because after all, who knows more unbelievers than a just saved person! Yes, friend, it all begins with YOU.———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. One of the great qualities of our Savior Jesus Christ is His redeeming ability. He can take a broken throw away life like mine and turn it around and make it into something beautiful. I’m so thankful for that. Today we look at a man in the Gospel of Matthew that by all accounts is a throw away. Except that he has some friends who do everything needed to get him to Jesus. And when he encounters Jesus everything changes for the better! Join me as we look at, “No one is a throw away.”———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. Now we come to that moment when Light meets Darkness. The boat survived the storm and they land on the other side of the Sea only to be met by a demon possessed man. I can only imagine the disciples thoughts, “Great, we survive a storm, we are soaking wet, we are exhausted, and now this?” It is in this interaction between Jesus and the demon inhabiting the man do we see what happens when “Light meets darkness.”———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. Jesus instructs His disciples to get in the boat and head to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. We all know a great storm arises on the lake and the disciples who are experienced fishermen are frightened out of their minds. The crazy thing is, Jesus is asleep in the storm. In this message I want us to see how Jesus being in the boat of our lives should impact our faith. I’ve titled it, “When Jesus walks into the room.” ———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. Many people say they are willing to follow Jesus wherever He leads them, UNTIL they find out what He wants them to do. Today, we run into a couple of people who have great intentions in following Jesus. The first man finds out that following Jesus is not the easiest thing to do, and the second man has conditions he places ahead of surrendering His life to Christ. Join me today as we look at these two men in a message titled, “Anything that is worth it, will cost you.” ———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. As we enter back into the Gospel of Matthew, we now take on the Miracles in Matthew. This Sunday, we look at the healing of the Leper. In today’s teaching, which I titled “Jesus jumps into our mess,” I will explain the text, but in application, I will attempt to illustrate how this is a picture of the cross, death, and resurrection of Jesus. I hope you join me as we continue our two-year study through Matthew.———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. We take a two-week detour from our Matthew series and jump into a series called “Belong.” As we begin, I will take you into the life of Nehemiah who comes back to Jerusalem to rebuild a wall that was in ruins and the gates burned with fire. He miraculously rally’s the troops. (Now that is a leader!) They all jump into and rebuild the wall in order to protect the people living in Jerusalem. Meaning, they served for the sake of others. They lived for a cause bigger than themselves!!———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. Jesus now takes into how to build our lives and eternity correctly. Jesus gives us the great illustration of the two builders. One builds on rock and one on sand. In His magnificent illustration we see how to create a stable life. And we are talking having stability through the toughest seasons and storms of life…and ultimately building our lives on the Rock Jesus Christ which secures our eternity!———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. Today Jesus takes into territory that we must be aware of; False Prophets coming in to the church with false teaching. As a Bible teacher I am always on high alert to this because false teachers come in to lead the flock astray and away. As we continue through Matthew Jesus gives us specifics to recognize in order to avoid the false teaching of the false prophets. Now I will add that I am going to take this and apply it to what we’ll call “False partners.” Meaning, how to spot someone that you should not enter into relationship with. Should be a good one!!———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. In this teaching, Jesus challenges us to do something we sometimes don’t want to do. Treat others the way we would like to be treated. This even includes those who might have not treated us the best. Everything about this can and does rub us wrong. But Jesus said it and we are supposed to live it. This Sunday we will take a look at this challenging truth from the Creator of the Universe. ———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. There are times when people feel the frustration of not having their prayers answered. The question is usually Why? Jesus gives us an incredible invitation in Matthew 7:7-11: Ask, Seek, Knock. But what does He really mean by that? Join us this Sunday as we discover how these words can change the way we approach God and experience His presence.———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. As we conclude our Summer of Psalms series we come to Psalm 73. It’s one of those Psalms that has an imbedded question that we all wrestle, “How come God?” I think we all have moments where we look at others and think, “How come they are blessed that way and not me?” And by the way it is okay to question God, He is a big boy. In this Psalm we jump into the mind of a choir director named Asaph who questions the fairness of God and more importantly, how he resolved it.———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/churchessentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. Psalm 2 has to be one of the more interesting Psalms. The writer begins with the futility of the nations rebelling against God. He quickly moves to the Anointed One to come. AND THEN, he hits us with the “Ask of Me and I will give the nations” verse. His point is, there will come a time when Jesus the Anointed One resets all things. When He takes back the world and all the nations. It will be the great “reset” for all eternity. Join me this Sunday because it should be interesting!———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/churchessentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. As we continue through our Summer of Psalms series we come to the inner workings of guilt and forgiveness. I am thankful that David honestly shared what he was experiencing in his season of guilt over his sin with Bathsheba. But I am more grateful at his engaging explanation of the complete cleansing of his guilt he experienced through God’s forgiveness. Continuing our Summer of Psalms, we turn to Psalm 3, a Psalm of David. To say that David is being put through the ringer is an understatement. David’s life has taken a bad turn. His son is against him, friends have turned on him, people are telling him that God has abandoned him, and then there is one man throwing rocks at him while verbally abusing David. Yeah, I’d say life is bad. But it is in this Psalm that we can learn some important lessons in David’s response to these attacks. Join me as we dive into the inner workings of the man David and how he dealt with his miserable situation. ———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/churchessentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. Have you ever messed up, like really messed up? Maybe you have, and you think, "There is no way I can go to church!" That, my friend, is a lie. Jesus tells us to: come as you are," because that is His heart. That is our heart as well, so come listen to a message about a man who REALLY messed up, and still was able to come back to his Father's house.———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/churchessentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. We now take a summer break from our Matthew studies to take a look at some of the Psalms in a series we call, “Summer of Psalms.”I begin this series by being blessed to teach Psalm 1. A great psalm! There are multiple ways we can take this but I think a main idea is the contrast of happiness and unhappiness. The Psalmist gives us a path to bring us into a consistent joy and happiness. You don’t want to miss this one.———————————————————————————————Gather your church essentials here for notes, prayer, events, etc:https://nbcc.com/church-essentialsConnect with us on Social Media:Instagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoTikTok: tiktok.com/@nbccnorcoFacebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGwWebsite: https://www.nbcc.com/----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at nbcc@nbcc.com. Engaging and penetrating the darkness should be a normal Christian discipline. Because it is part of being the church that drives back the gates of hell. This next teaching in Matthew centers around the discipline of fasting. Which by the way is a major piece of our Christian arsenal. I’m going to take us into some of the deeper workings of fasting to hopefully encourage us all to utilize it to destroy the enemies strongholds in our lives as well as the lives of others around us. I really hope you tune into this one.
