We’re back from holiday and ready to add new sounds to our flowing radio stream. This time, we’ve been blessed with a selection by composer and drummer Greta Eacott, known for projects such as G-Bop Orchestra, One Take Records, and, most recently, composing ballet for children. Her selection takes you on a journey through archival recordings of steam trains, contemporary classical works, Welsh avant-garde theatre, and much more. We’ve asked the Swedish artist Aske Thiberg to contribute some of the sounds from his practice to our archive at The Lake Radio. And graciously he has provided us with a wonderful mix of music from dance performances, videos and readings of three of his short stories. Askes work is digging into themes of loneliness and alienation, anxiety and melancholy, rhythm and weight, in a sometimes playful, sometimes serious manner.
