A Democratic Boston city council member, who called to "dismantle the White backdrop" in America and "create a revolution," is starting to disturb her liberal colleagues with her wild antics and threats, according to a source who spoke with Fox News Digital. The source is a city hall employee, who requested anonymity because council member Tania Fernandes Anderson has created an "unhealthy" environment. The employee believes Fernandes Anderson is a "troubled person," who uses accusations of racism to get people to fall in line. The source discussed the challenges of having someone in the city's government who has been – in their view – hostile, verbally abusive and antisemitic. "People are intimidated by her. And that intimidation does work," the source said. They said some members would give into her because "no one want[s] to disagree with Tania because she's unpredictable." --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
Thornton Township Supervisor and Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard hosted a "Township Talk" meeting on Wednesday, where around 30 residents gathered to discuss various community issues. Henyard and her staff highlighted upcoming events and resources available for seniors and struggling families, but the primary focus of the meeting was on property taxes and township finances. Henyard demonstrated to residents how their property taxes have increased each year, contrary to suggestions by some local mayors. Staffers distributed a financial breakdown of the township's finances from 2017 to the present. Henyard's team claimed that the township was previously in a deficit but now boasts a $6 million surplus under her administration. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
Dalton Mayor Tiffany Henyard is under scrutiny for billing expenses from a Washington, D.C., trip to the wrong taxpayers. Henyard attended the US Conference of Mayors' annual winter meeting, incurring over $9,000 in expenses. However, the bill was charged to Thornton Township, where Henyard also serves as supervisor, rather than to Dalton. Critics, including Township Trustee Chris Gonzalez, highlight a lack of transparency and potential misuse of funds. Henyard’s dual roles have led to confusion over financial responsibilities, with former Township employee Stephanie Weedman accusing her of blending the two entities' finances. The controversy raises concerns about fiscal management and ethical governance, fueling calls for greater accountability. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
Portland has ousted its soft-on-crime District Attorney, Mike Schmidt, in favor of Nathan Vasquez, a candidate backed by police unions and committed to restoring law and order. Schmidt, elected in 2020, became notorious for his leniency on crime, especially during the George Floyd protests, and his support for the decriminalization of drugs under Measure 110. The lack of prosecution and failure to address drug treatment led to an explosion of crime and a significant exodus of residents. Vasquez, a former Republican, promises to reverse these policies, focusing on public safety, rebuilding ties with law enforcement, and prosecuting crimes effectively. Portland's shift signals a broader rejection of progressive criminal justice reforms that have left the city struggling with high crime rates and public dissatisfaction. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
A woman who has portrayed herself as the most powerful politician in the south suburbs is the focus of a wide-ranging FBI investigation whose focus has grown to include people close to her politically and personally. Subpoenas served in recent weeks to the two municipalities led by Tiffany Henyard – the village of Dolton and Thornton Township – reveal federal agents are investigating many of the same concerns WGN Investigates has reported on in the past year. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
A new billboard that appeared in Denver is causing a lot of tension between Wyoming and Colorado. The billboard came from the Laramie County Sheriff's Office and it says "Work in Wyoming where breaking the law is still illegal & cops are funded!". This billboard is in direct response to Denver Mayor Mike Johnson's decision to enforce budget cuts for law enforcement. Mayor Johnson, as well as Denver Police, responded by saying that Denver Police have better pay and they find the billboard completely ridiculous. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
Federal prosecutors on Friday announced charges against five people in connection with a Chicago-based scheme that staged armed robberies so the purported victims could apply for U.S. immigration visas reserved for legitimate crime victims. CWBChicago had been working behind the scenes on the story, but withheld publication until charges were announced at the request of our sources. Now, we can tell you the incredible details. Officials believe hundreds of people, including some who traveled from out of town, posed as customers in dozens of businesses across Chicago and elsewhere, all hoping to win favorable immigration status by becoming “victims” of pre-arranged “armed robberies.” --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message

Oakland officials have opted for a temporary fix to persistent traffic light vandalism by replacing them with stop signs at a key intersection. The ongoing issue stems from copper wire theft by individuals from a nearby homeless encampment. Residents express frustration over the city’s inability to resolve the root cause—homelessness and associated crime—impacting local businesses and safety. Despite several attempts to repair the lights, they remain targets for theft, forcing the city to adopt this stopgap measure. This situation underscores the broader challenges of urban management and law enforcement in high-crime areas. #OaklandCrisis #HomelessnessImpact #UrbanChallenges --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
NYC shoplifting rates have soared, with 21,578 cases reported so far this year, causing significant financial losses for retailers like Walgreens and Target, which are closing locations. Nearly all grocers in NYC have faced shoplifting, with 60% burglarized daily. The NYPD's challenges, including officer resignations and budget cuts, exacerbate the issue. Retailers lost over $4 billion last year, with shoplifting often treated as a misdemeanor, resulting in minimal consequences for perpetrators. Critics blame liberal policies and call for stricter enforcement to curb the rising tide of retail theft. #NYCShoplifting #RetailTheftCrisis #LawAndOrder --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message

Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) was mocked after he claimed California was the “national model” for dealing with homelessness. Announcing a $3.3 billion fund to combat homelessness in his state on Tuesday, Newson boasted, “The state of California saw a decline in veteran’s homelessness,” adding that “we have a national model.” Although California has seen a 30% drop in veteran homeless since 2012, a 2023 federal report determined that 28% of the nation’s homeless live in California and people sleeping on the streets in the state accounted for roughly half of the entire nation’s total. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message

A recent survey indicates that supportive housing is not a comprehensive solution for mentally ill homeless individuals. The survey reveals an increase in homelessness in New York City, particularly among asylum seekers. Jenna D’Angeles from CBS2 interviewed the commissioner for the Department of Social Services, who highlighted a significant rise in shelter system usage, largely attributed to the asylum crisis. Supportive housing initiatives aim to offer permanent housing and services to homeless individuals, but progress has been slow. Mayor Eric Adams’ plan to create 15,000 supportive housing units by 2028 is lagging, with only 3,853 units opened so far. The demand for housing far exceeds the available units, exacerbated by the influx of asylum seekers. Critics argue that supportive housing, while beneficial, is not sufficient for individuals with severe mental health issues. There is a call for more comprehensive solutions, including psychiatric hospitalization and law enforcement intervention for those breaking the law. The high cost of construction and limited resources further complicate efforts to address homelessness through housing alone. #homeless #progressive #newyork --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message

Texas Governor Abbott has issued a full pardon for an Army sergeant who shot a Black Lives Matter protester. Let's take a closer look at the details and reactions. For those unfamiliar with the incident, Army Sergeant Daniel Perry shot Garrett Foster during a Black Lives Matter protest in Austin in 2020. Perry claimed he acted in self-defense after Foster, who was carrying an AK-47 rifle, approached his vehicle. Perry had stated that he felt threatened and reacted to protect himself. Bodycam footage showed Perry visibly distraught after the incident. He claimed his vehicle was attacked by protesters, who left handprints and kick marks all over it. There were also allegations of shots being fired at his car. Officer Joshua VC, one of the first responders, testified that Perry appeared genuinely traumatized. #gregabbott #pardon #army --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
There has been another twist in the ongoing saga in the small Chicago town of Dolton. The board members of Dolton appointed a mayor pro tempore on Monday to serve in place of embattled Mayor Tiffany Henyard should she refuse to execute her duties, Fox 32 Chicago reports. Trustee Jason House was voted in as mayor pro tempore – meaning for the time being – at a special meeting and could sign off on village business and pay bills in Henyard's absence. Henyard, the self-described "supermayor" of Dolton, and Thornton Township Supervisor, has faced accusations of corruption and has drawn national attention to the small town which has a population of around 21,500. Dolton residents have called for Henyard's resignation, including booing her at the last Village Board meeting she attended. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
Josh Beckler of California wad driving his EV on Mother’s Day when he swung into a Vallejo Target to top off his battery and got a nasty surprise. Most of the DC fast chargers had been torn apart, their charging cables ripped off and gone. Beckler, who happens to be a retired theft investigator for a hardware store chain, knew exactly what the thieves were after: copper wire. He explained, “It most likely happened in the night, and we found it early morning.” The thieves had dismantled nine Tesla Superchargers installed behind the box store. Surprisingly, they left some stations untouched. Beckler added, “You know, they left five charging stations. I’m pretty sure after they racked up, I don’t know what the quantity was, but almost 20 cables with the nozzles. Those are extremely heavy, so I’m imagining that’s all they could haul at one given time.” --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message

A “woke” Washington, DC, judge is facing backlash after he opted to cut loose an 18-year-old accused of firing more than two dozen rounds from an AR-15 into a car full of people. Lloyd U. Nolan Jr., a judge on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, last week ordered Amonte Moody to be released on house arrest ahead of his trial — despite acknowledging that the teen’s alleged actions could have killed someone. Moody, who was slapped with charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, had allegedly sprayed 26 shots at an SUV carrying four people on Independence Avenue in the early hours of April 22. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message

The move is a huge blow for District Attorney Bill Hicks, who had been pursuing the cases. At a press conference Thursday he said: “Our office feels strongly … the procedure was appropriate and proper. “We feel Judge Morales’ order is an improper order. The Seattle Police Officers Guild (SPOG) had already approved the deal, as did the Seattle Mayor’s Office, and calls for a 1.3% wage increase in 2021, a 6.4% increase in 2022, and a 15.3% increase in 2023. The officers will be paid in a one-time lump sum, but a City Council central staff document also says the cost is more than anticipated and will add to the already $230 million budget deficit. It does not cover 2024 and beyond. The vote was 8-1, with only Councilmember Tammy Morales opposing the raises. The starting salary is now $103,000. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
Last month a group of Portland State University protesters took over the school library and vandalized it extensively in an attempt to keep the police out. That effort failed as police moved in just a few days later and made several arrests. Of the 30 people who were arrested only six turned out to be students (two turned out to be homeless people who claimed they had no idea arrests were being made). Unfortunately the damage done to the library in the 3-days the vandals occupied it was significant. Today the school released an estimate for repairing the damage: --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darien-dunstan3/message
