The most acclaimed animated film of 2019 is now an Oscar nominee for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song. "Toy Story 4" is a sequel to one of the most beloved trilogies of all time and there were some initial doubts about whether or not the story would be worth telling. Winner of the Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award for Best Animated Film, "Toy Story 4" has not only proven to be a worthy entry in the "Toy Story" series but under the direction of Josh Cooley, it has achieved new heights for the entire Pixar team. Listen to our interview with Josh as he explains the making of "Toy Story 4." Check out more on NextBestPicture.com Please subscribe on... Before 2017, no one in the film composing world had heard of Michael Abels. Then Jordan Peele's "Get Out" was released and suddenly everything changed. Receiving acclaim for one of the year's best scores, Abels was kind enough to talk to us about his work on the film, his collaboration with Peele and more! After decades of films, billions of dollars in merchandising and enough fan discourse to write several books on, the Skywalker Saga has come to a close with "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker." Much has been talked about regarding the films editing, especially considering the challenges this particular film faced with the tragic death of actress Carrie Fisher and how to satisfy all fans who have a certain expectation of what they want Star Wars to be. Editor Maryann Brandon was kind enough to lend us a few minutes of her time to talk about her work on the film. Take a listen below to hear what she had to say. For this week's main review Nicole Ackman, Ryan C. "Clemency" debuted earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival and has been making its way through various other festivals before opening in limited release this past week. At its center is a wonderful performance from Academy Award nominee Alfre Woodard but under the strong direction of Chinonye Chukwu. That direction and vision guides other elements of the film, including its understated but nonetheless effective cinematography by Eric Branco. Eric was kind enough to take a few minutes to talk about his work on the film and how to helped guide Chukwu's vision. Take a listen down below. I absolutely love this podcast, but I wish they would talk more about what SHOULD win the Oscars and not what will win. Also, they thought the 3 Billboards screenplay was a mess, but they loved Wonder Woman? WTF?
