Description
We all like origin stories. On this podcast, the focus is on you, your story, and what you have made of it. We may go deep into the weeds, or we may lightly touch a subject. It depends on the person. All our stories are unique and spell out what we went through in our lives, careers, and even deployments for those veterans that may have gone overseas. Take care not to miss out on a single episode. Season 2 is coming soon.

Reverse
With this episode, the second season takes a different turn. It offers a fresh dimension to the program as I interview those who work in the startup world. I speak with Ed Kang, who describes himself as a "serial entrepreneur." His perspective on the startup and entrepreneurial world gave me a lot to think about and I'm sure it will be that for you as well. It's best to take notes on this episode because you'll want to go further into some of the concepts and absorb everything he has to say as he gives us a rundown of what he does and has done over the years.
Change is okay. That is the mantra with this episode. I bring back Ryan Harris for an unscripted episode. (This episode is an oldie, but a goodie). In this episode, we break down the delicacies of transition and what we would want to do outside the military. Ryan's twitch is https://www.twitch.tv/brunstad/video/1018379750 if anyone is interested.
*This episode may not be for everyone, but as stated, it is unscripted and anything can happen.
In this episode, I bring back on Angus and talk about mindset, a much-needed conversation that gives us perspective on how you see yourself and the world around you. Don't miss a second of this conversation.
Make sure to subscribe if you like what you hear so you can be notified of future episodes.
In this episode, Karl Monger takes the time to update us on what's new for the Gallantfew organization.
As hard as it is to share my story, here is an episode recorded a while ago now that I come on the show just like me, and reveal tough parts of my personality. I hope that my story and experiences resonate with people and they can relate. Reach out if they do. I'd love to talk about it. Email me at combatcitizen.tr@gmail.com
In this episode, I had the privilege to get to know Vanessa Lech, who through her story, gave a voice to the struggles she faced while in the military and the work she now does in the health care and behavioral health fields.
In this episode, I interview Kerri Jeter who runs a Woman Veteran-Owned Media company that champions change for women veterans. With a powerful story, we talk about how she first started with a podcast and then slowly led it into a media company.
She can be reached at the following link: linktr.ee/freedomsistersmedia
Have you ever wanted to join the French Foreign Legion, but never had the guts to do it? My next guest has and his experience definitely is not one to miss. James Karp speaks on his experience in the organization and also comes onto the show to talk about his non-profit called Chasing Horizon.
So far I've spoken to vets outside of the military, now this episode is all about a vet who is in the military and his transition out of the military and the experience going through that. In the episode, we discuss programs he knows of that are there to assist the transitioning Veteran through the process.
Today I talk about Road Rage, a topic that I am sure will resonate with a lot of vets and civilians alike.
A super interesting next guest. Michael Parker in his own words...
"Yeah, so I'm a Marine Corps veteran. After the Marine Corps, I decided to pursue my other passion being a cowboy, and also have started working on my own business, trying to get that up and off the ground as well as writing a book. I wear a lot of hats. So yeah. Literally and figuratively."
You have heard from the military side of the house, now get ready to hear from the civilian side. In this episode, I bring on Joy who has a non-profit serving the veteran community. Her non-profit, Rebootcamp serves as a resource to aid veterans in crafting their knowledge from their time in the military and translating it to the civilian sector.
You do not want to miss this episode as she has a wealth of knowledge and experience that is highly valuable to anyone seeking employment post-military.
X-ray of the episode:

Looking for that episode that will leave an impression on you? Look no further than my talk with none other than John Morrin. His experience in the military will make you think and ponder for a while afterward.
A slight deviation from the last 8 episodes, as this episode looks at the flip side of veterans and focuses on the spouse of a veteran. Although my next guest is a spouse of a veteran, she is no stranger to being in the military. Her experience comes from being in ROTC and her story gives a breathtaking account of the challenges and the heartaches that can occur when you are suddenly left with tough choices that result from an injury. This episode also takes on a more informal approach and the discussion goes down a few rabbit holes but finds its way back to the discussion at hand, and that is veteran struggles and the effects they can occur on them mentally and physically.
In this episode, I talk with Zach Rivera, who when in the military was a Special Forces Engineer Sergeant (18C) with the 5th Special Forces Group out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Outside of the military, he is the Vice President of Sales for 360 Privacy.
Tune in to the episode to learn about his story of how he got into the military and definitely stick around for our conversation about his prized snowblower.
This week I talk to J R Avalos, a Navy Corpsman where we talk connection, heartbreak, and community.
This week I talk to Gavin Tice, a Marine who went from being an 0351 (Infantry Assault Marine) to working in sales. Hear the very detailed story of his adventures in the Marines.
In this episode, I interview Karl Monger who is a Veteran of the Rangers and also served as a light infantry company commander and Ranger battalion staff officer. Post military career, he founded the nonprofit GallantFew, Inc. in 2010 and today serves as its Executive Director.
In this fourth episode of the Combat Citizen Podcast, Ryan sits down with former Army Infantryman (11B) Jake Noble.
Army Veteran Matt Biggs comes onto the show to tell us about his career as a Mortuary Affairs Specialist.
