Nightmare on Film Street returns! Join your horror hosts Kimmi & Jon as they kick off a brand-new season of the show with the criminally underseen (some say criminally underrated) Slaughter High (1986). It's a cult classic slasher trashterpiece loaded with dumb gags, silly deaths, and a cruel prank-gone-wrong that just begs for sweet revenge. And despite being the perfect B-Movie to kick off the back-to-school season, with a VHS cover that belongs in the pantheon of A+ physical media, Slaughter High (1986) has not been given the respect it deserves....including here on this very podcast 😅Join ussss as we laugh and argue our way through a 1980's Holiday set masked-killer massacre that (depending on which of us you ask) is either the best Friday night horror movie ever, or a so-bad-it's-good late-night flick that you can't help but love. Love horror? Whether Jared Leto wants to admit it or not, Urban Legend (1998) does exist, and it's still the best of the "Killer Gets Revenge By Re-enacting Well Known Urban Legends But Also Wears A Winter Coat Cause It Looks Cool" subgenre. That old chestnut.Join your Horror Hosts Jon & Kim as they revisit this black sheep of the 90s Slasher canon and the only movie brave enough to remind us of the dangers of mixing pop rocks with drain cleaner. A decade before The Expendables made mashups cool again, Urban Legend brought together Horror icons Robert Englund, Brad Dourif, Danielle Harris, and Julian Richings for a blood-splattered whodunit with everything from a creepy gas station attendant to a ding dang microwave massacre.Join ussss….Love horror? The serial killer train is moving full steam ahead for another edition of Nightmare on Film Street! Join your horror hosts Kimmi & Jon for a blast from the past, and a late 90s lesson in MomCore Gore with The Bone Collector (1999). As gnarly as Se7en, and as stacked a cast as...uh- Se7en, The Bone Collector is rarely talked about these days when ranking serial killer thrillers, and that's a damn shame. The Bone Collector stars a paraplegic Denzel Washington whose acting circles around his co-stars with just his face and 1 working finger! And despite being targeted by Dateline obsessed Moms (mostly thanks to a young Angelina Jolie) this dang movie also has: melted faces, people eaten by rats, creepy severed fingers, and a death cab for cuties on a one-way ride to a shallow grave. Join ussss...Love horror? The Cell (2000)

The Cell (2000)

2025-03-1352:39

Join your horror hosts Kimmi & Jon as they revisit Tarsem Singh's The Cell (2000), the cult classic that transformed Jennifer Lopez from a pop sensation into a serial killer whisper. A movie that everyone laughed at even though Vincent D'Onofrio delivers a career best performance. A movie where people are given the power to walk through a maniac's mind like it's a nightmare-scape amusement park. And yes, a movie where Vince Vaughn has his intestines pulled out by a medieval torture device while a godlike monster man claps with glee.If we're being perfectly honest, it's kind of surprising that we don't cover this movie on the podcast every calendar year! The Cell is a dark fantasy masterpiece, a serial killer procedural, and a twist joyride through the mind of a madman. Catnip for weirdos like us. Nightmare on Film Street Returns! Join your horror hosts Kimmi & Jon as they kick off a brand-new season of the podcast, revisiting Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (1992) from the late great David Lynch. The world was cruel enough to take one of our most optimistic and original filmmakers this year and we figured no better way to set the stage for this season of the show than by....by getting very sad at the fate of Laura Palmer and diving headfirst into the nightmarish insanity of Twin Peaks once more. For the diehard Twin Peaks fans, Fire Walk With Me is the eye-of-the-storm, the Rosetta Stone, and the key to solving everything. Personally, we still have questions. Like, what's the deal with that weird kid in the creepy mask? How does The Black Lodge really work?? Why is David Bowie only in this movie for 35 seconds?!? You guys are amazing. I'm working my way through all of your old podcast and ran across the M. Night Shyamalan? one. I can't believe I never heard of The Visit before now but I immediately went to watch it and it was amazing. I dont get unnerved by scary movies but there were alot of hard nopes from me on this one. The under the house scene was nuts!
