Description

Hello! My name is Sam, and I’m currently a full-time Flight Paramedic. I’ve worked in EMS for almost two decades, in multiple fields, which I believe gives me a unique perspective. Throughout my career, I’ve obtained my NREMT Paramedic, Bachelor of Science in EMS, FP-C, and many other certificates and degrees. I strongly believe that sharing our stories can be a healing experience than can educate, enlighten, and humble us. If you’re interested in hearing tales from highly qualified EMS professionals, we think you’ll find that our podcast, Nine One One Nonsense, is for you.

On this episode of Nine One One Nonsense, we're joined by Hensley (Nurse Hens). At just 25 years old, Hensley landed her dream job as a flight nurse, a move that many thought was too early. Instead of letting the criticism define her, she doubled down, put in the work, and earned every bit of confidence she has today. We talk about the pressure of working in pediatric critical care, the patient that almost made her walk away from nursing, why therapy has been an essential part of her career, and the moments that remind us why we chose healthcare in the first place. This isn't just a conversation about flight medicine; it's about growth, resilience, and learning to trust yourself when everyone else is questioning you.Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/1vAokfqG5aifoRBKk9MAUh?si=T8DipSBCQzWfOeiBW3h-VwFB Page: https://m.facebook.com/groups/nineoneonenonsense/?ref=shareInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/911nonsense/X: https://twitter.com/911NonsenseBonfire Merch: https://www.bonfire.com/store/nine-one-one-nonsense/?utm_source=copy_link&utm_medium=store_page_share&utm_campaign=nine-one-one-nonsense&utm_content=defaultContent Warning: This episode contains discussions about death, including graphic and potentially triggering details. On this episode of NOON, I sit down with Nicole Hooser, a flight paramedic, firefighter paramedic, EMS instructor, and single mom from Missouri.Nicole’s path into EMS started in one of the scariest ways possible: her newborn son stopped breathing at home, and she had to do CPR while being talked through it by a dispatcher. That moment changed everything for her.We talk about becoming a paramedic, getting into flight, pediatric calls, small-town EMS, teaching new providers, and why she never wanted to feel helpless in an emergency again.Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/1vAokfqG5aifoRBKk9MAUh?si=T8DipSBCQzWfOeiBW3h-VwFB Page: https://m.facebook.com/groups/nineoneonenonsense/?ref=shareInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/911nonsense/X: https://twitter.com/911NonsenseBonfire Merch: https://www.bonfire.com/store/nine-one-one-nonsense/?utm_source=copy_link&utm_medium=store_page_share&utm_campaign=nine-one-one-nonsense&utm_content=defaultContent Warning: This episode contains discussions about death, including graphic and potentially triggering details.
