#780 | United are both a shockingly poor football team and desperately unlucky - Schrödinger's football team. Very little is going right at the club after the team suffered a fifth defeat under new Head Coach Ruben Amorim. Ed and Wayne try to unpick what happened at Wolves on Thursday night after Bruno Fernandes' red card and yet another goal conceded direct from a corner contributed to a 2-0 defeat. Then there's a look ahead to United's tie with Newcastle at Old Trafford on Sunday. If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing exclusive bonus episodes, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. Daily | It is one year since Sir Jim Ratcliffe, through his Trawlers Ltd company and INEOS Sport group, purchased just over 25% of Manchester United, later upped to over 28%. In that there has been a significant amount of change at the club. Not all of it has gone down well with the fans. Ed and Wayne review a year of disruption at the club. Hosted on Acast. #779 | Thrashed by Bournemouth yet again. WTAF is going on? Unlike the midweek defeat at Spurs, there was very little redeeming about this performance in which missed chances and defensive mistakes were scattered throughout. Ed and guest co-host Adam commiserate and then look forward to United's Boxing Day game at Wolves. If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing exclusive bonus episodes, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. #778 | Are you not entertained? United are out of the League Cup after a chaotic game at Spurs in which Ruben Amorim's side gifted the hosts three goals. Ed and Wayne look back on an eventful night and aren't too disappointed despite exiting the competition. A lot has happened over the past couple of days when it comes to Marcus Rashford. First, the forward was left out of Ruben Amorim's squad to play Manchester City at the weekend. Then the club briefed Jamie Jackson, on Monday, that Rashford is up for sale. On Tuesday, Rashford spoke to Henry Winter about his readiness for "a new challenge." Ed and Tom discuss the latest, in a fast-moving story that may well be out of date by the time we publish! If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing exclusive bonus episodes, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. #777 | Ed and Dan review derby victory and then look ahead to United's EFL Cup quarter-final away to Spurs on Thursday night. Victory over City came in the final minute of normal time. Could it get any better than this? This was no classic derby, with both teams struggling to find any kind of consistent form this season. But Rumen Amorim's plan to keep City at arms length worked, even if United created few high quality chances. And yet his team found a way through Amad Diallo, surely United's player of the season to date. The little man created the penalty for captain Bruno Fernandes put away and then he scored the winner for Amad finish to the game. Yes! #776 | United beat Viktoria Plzeň eventually but not before an hour of some of the dullest football you've ever seen had passed. It was a disjointed United side unable to fashion good chances from lots of possession, going away yet another comical goal. And then came all the substitutions on the hour mark and a spectacular turnaround. Ed and Tom discuss victory in the Europa League and then look forward to City at the weekend. If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing exclusive bonus episodes, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. United face Viktoria Plzeň on Thursday in a critical Europa League fixture, with Ruben Amorim’s team realistically needing at least two wins from the final three games to avoid a play-off. Plzen, or in English vernacular, Pilsner, is the home of the world famous beer and there will be more than a few Reds sampling the local brews on this trip. Away from the beer, Ed and Adam assess United’s chances and think about where Viktoria might be able to hurt the visitors. If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing exclusive bonus episodes, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. Three former Manchester United players retired this week - Rafael, Fabio and Nani. With more than 450 games for the club between them and countless trophies, each added much to United's modern history. Nani ended his career at Estrela da Amadora, Fabio at Gremio and Rafael at Botafogo. #775 | United were beaten by Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday but it turns out a second defeat in a row isn't the big story of the weekend. On Sunday it was reported by The Athletic that Dan Ashworth has parted company with the club after just five months as Sporting Director. What went wrong for the executive for whom United paid £2m to Newcastle to secure? Why was he apparently fired by Jim Ratcliffe? There's also some football to discuss, with that Forest defeat on Saturday and a trip to Viktoria Plzen on Thursday. If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing exclusive bonus episodes, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. United face a (sort of) resurgent Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford. Can the Ruben Amorim's side get back to winning ways after defeat at Arsenal? And What weapons do Forest have that could cause United trouble? Luke Shaw is injured again and missed United's defeat at Arsenal this week; Leny Yoro made his competitive debut for the club in the same game. Contrasting injury fortunes and a passing of the baton from a player who may well leave the club this summer to one who is very much the future. #774 We saw it coming. Arsenal have been exceptional at capitalising on set pieces this season, consistently creating chances to win free kicks and corners. United ultimately conceded 13 corners, with two leading to goals for Mikel 'Pulis' Arteta's side. While United’s structure largely held firm, limiting Arsenal's threat from open play, their own attack lacked any real menace. Ed and Wayne break down a frustrating result and examine yet another reminder of the daunting task ahead for new Head Coach Ruben Amorim. There's a discussion about the Rainbow Laces campaign and a tribute to Kath Phipps who has passed away.If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing exclusive bonus episodes, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. Daily | United face Arsenal at the Emirates in Ruben Amorim's first game against one of the Premier League's better teams. #773 It has been 88 games since United scored four in a Premier League game. 88 games. Is the return of 4-0 FC under new coach Ruben Amorim a co-incidence? Is Marcus Rashford's return to goalscoring form? Ed and Dan think not. After reviewing United's victory over Everton, there's a preview of the trip to Arsenal on Wednesday. If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing exclusive bonus episodes, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. #772 Victory over Bodø/Glimt in the Europa League and more evidence of the very clear way United will play under Head Coach Ruben Amorim. This was far from a perfect United performance, but it is already a team with more identity and clearer patterns of play than at any time under Erik ten Hag. Ed and Tom discuss United's victory on Thursday and then look forward to Everton's visit this weekend. If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing exclusive bonus episodes, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. From our Youtube channel - Pep Guardiola is under pressure for perhaps the first time in his managerial career. Having lost five in a row and then throwing away a three-goal lead agains Champions League, City are in a mini-crisis. Not the full blown hysterical media circus that happens when United lose, but a difficult time nonetheless. What's going on? Really enjoying the content and tone. The politics is context and I think it's absolutely necessary. Thank you for the regularity too.

The show has descended into a bi weekly lecture on intersectionality and general woke bullshit.. Ed and Paul used to have an everyday fan point of view for years but the last few seasons they have decided to virtual signal the shit out of a once great podcast while infantilizing black and female players..

When do you think Ed and Paul will figure out that people who subscribe to a Manchester United podcast don't want to hear about politics? Otherwise we would just subscribe to a political podcast?

I've been listening to NQAT or what I know as The Rant Cast on and off for over a decade now. The chat about United is mostly good and informative, however the divergence in to politics has increased as the years have gone on. The typical labels of calling anyone who challenges Ed and Paul's views as racist, sexist, bigots, to name but a few have become tiresome over time. In the latest pod there was a sizeable amount of time spent talking politics over previewing the Manchester Derby.

very obvious agenda against Shaw which is so poor of you. clearly our whole team is suffering ever since his injury and you are trying to target him as a weak link. it must be personal as otherwise you don't really know football...

If these two stuck to football instead of speaking of American politics then this will be a much better podcast.

When they discuss United it's a quality listen, but too often Ed wants to be divisive and always go on about how some fans are idiots, racists, bigots. etc etc.... If it happened once then it wouldn't be a problem, but Ed is probably one of the worst hosts I've ever listened too. Paul is quality and often looks for the good in situations.
