This episode was a throwaway. It was the original plot for the podcast. At the end of recording process, it made sense to add it as a “bonus track” to stamp how this whole idea was conceived.
“No Ticket, No Skates” is one of my favorite lines from the movie, “ATL.” “ATL,” an acronym standing for Atlanta, GA was a movie that contained many of my young adult dreams. I wanted to move to Atlanta, go to college and be free. Somehow, this movie satisfied my craving and lust for life at that time. I watched it religiously, almost every day. The line, “No Ticket, No Skates,” however, has always stuck with me all these years since the movie came out in 2006. Fast forward to today, now looking back, this phrase motivated and satisfied my yearn to conquer as many opportunities as I possibly could. I realized I was the “Ticket” to “Skate” through life. Being born with an innate confidence, I explored many opportunities in the corporate business and fashion world. However, life happens. Life can throw you through highs and lows that can alter your confidence — at times. In this podcast, I really unpack what a human’s journey of being confident can mean. Through my and other’s experiences, I explore being secure in oneself as you grow and mature, trusting in your thought patterns based on learned experiences, overcoming childhood traumas, overcoming breakups, letting go of the past and how to be confident moving forward through life. I curated specific podcast guests to give a 360 view of perspective. This podcast explores the “nitty gritty” of life circumstances, those that people shy away to speak about but affects us all. This podcast takes on a narrative approach. All episodes are pre-recorded giving an album like listening experience. I want to empower you all as the audience to have listening control and experience this “album of episodes” in the way you intend. However, I encourage you to listen straight through, from beginning to end, as this is the way the podcast was arranged. Here’s to everyone being their best confident selves — EVERYDAY! Enjoy!
